I gave my heart to a Navy SEAL.He took it with him to his grave.Eleven years later, ignoring the yawning void is as automatic as breathing. Working brutal hours, dating a comfortably commitment-phobic guy, hanging with my best friends. Anything until exhaustion—or an extra glass of wine—claims my consciousness. And then my comfort zone is invaded by Anderson Hawkins’ piercing green eyes.He says … green eyes.
He says he’s a tattoo artist, but his mastery of the short answer, weird schedule, and military ink tell a different story.
His touch ignites a long-dead flame inside me.
But can I touch it without being completely scorched from the inside out?
I’m at the edge of a cliff. I just don’t know if he’ll catch me until I fall.
Note: This contemporary romance contains a former military hero accustomed to treading dangerous ground, and a wary, overworked doctor who’s a military widow in every way but name, brought together by a few unexpected twists and turns—and maybe the machinations of a cute dog.

Loved it
I loved it wanted to finish it the day I started reading it
Grammatical mistakes made me want to red line words but I couldn’t put it down.
The story line was good, kinda jumps around and needs better editing. I can’t believe how many times the F word was used. Totally unnecessary.
Wish it was longer. Loved it
Great read I just needed lots of tissues.
It’s difficult to read a book that has sadness and heartbreaking elements to it. It is very encouraging to be witness to the human spirit’s ability to bounce back and fight to live the best life possible.
Sad to think that someone, a doctor being so mental and lacking human compassion because of loosening a love one. We all experience losses.
It’s a very good book , I definitely recommend it .
This was an emotional read in several parts. I really enjoyed several of the characters, especially Anderson. I would enjoy reading more about several of the other characters. I will read more books from this author, but hopefully the editing is a lot better than it was in this book.
I loved this book. Definite 5 stars!!!!!! It was a page turner. This book was exceptionally written, had twists and turns and brought out my emotions. Dr. Aspen who loses her military fiance in a car accident, it crushes her and leaves her not wanting to move on relationship wise. Aspen has her best friends there for her. Aspen takes care of this woman, where she ends up meeting her son Anderson. Both Aspen and Anderson are dealing with their pasts and the present. Things start to take more twists and turns, will they fall in love. Can Aspen give her heart to another man? Will Anderson survive? This book is a must read you will enjoy it. Thank you Claudia.
Omg! This story had all the emotion my poor heart could handle! I loved Anderson and Aspen’s story so much! And the side story with his mom was so tender and heartbreaking! I’m so glad they were able to work through all their problems and find their happiness. This book was amazing. It didn’t rely on sex or shock value moments to sell the story. The story sold itself through all the emotion in every word. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone!
This book….this book…it took me by surprised. I had heard some buzz around it, but it was nothing like I expected. Aspen and Anderson’s story is one book hangover that will stay with me for a while. Aspen is trudging through life. Her fiance, Michael’s unexpected death years earlier has made her cautious and unwilling to love again. Anderson, a special ops man is home with his mom who just so happens to be Aspen’s neighbor. And the sparks ignite. But that isn’t enough to start their romance. It’s sweet, slow burning, and passionate, heart wrenching, sad and full of pain. Emotional journeys taking me on that roller coaster of life, not just the falling love, but real life occurrences are so real, my heart is right there with them. Dealing with sick parents and bad family relationships, and how well developed this was in Until I Fall kept me enveloped in Aspen and Hawk’s growing connection and how together they worked through life.
I love Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross and found this dual narration by them to be spectacular. It’s the first time I have heard this from the duo and they worked it seamlessly. Both have such distinct styles and voices that even playing the opposite sex, it was easy to follow. I loved their emotional chemistry and fell in love with the characters with their narration.
This is an amazingly heartwarming story about learning how to live and love again. Aspen lost her first love before they were able to get married as they had planned. She walled off her heart and threw herself into her work. She practically worked herself to death to avoid the pain of his loss. Until she meets Anderson. Meeting him, as well as a push from her friends encourages Aspen to live again.
Until I Fall by Claudia Y. Burgoa was an emotional story. Aspen lost so much when she was younger, she closed her heart off. Now she dives into her work and is barely living. She plays it safe with the men in her life, determined to never give it away again. Anderson’s life has been dedicated to the military. Even when he left the military, he found similar work. He has never had time for a commitment. Until now.
When Anderson and Aspen meet, their chemistry is strong and undeniable. But Aspen is determined to keep him at arm’s length. He scares her because he brings out in her what she has believed has been long gone. Can Aspen open her heart before it is too late?
Aspen was lost for so long, she struggles to deal with her emotions and feelings. Anderson was strong, determined and caring. Their story was emotional and heartfelt. It was about second chances, hope and love. Until I Fall by Claudia Y. Burgoa captivated from start to finish.
Happy reading!
I just loved this story! It’s beautiful and hearthbreaking.
Eleven years ago Aspen lost her fiancé, a Navy SEAL, in a tragic accident. Since then, she started to live in the automatic mode, dedicating herself exhaustively to work, in a relationship with no future, spending time with her best friends and avoiding confrontations. But when on a sleepless night she meets Anderson, the gorgeous son of her lovely neighbor, she begins to feel things she hasn’t felt in a long time.
Anderson is retired from Delta Force and works as a tattoo artist, in addition to working in private security, usually undercover. He returns to his mother’s house because she is very ill and his priority changes to try to save her.
As time goes on and Aspen and Anderson spend more time together, Aspen begins to lower her walls and get closer to him as he tries to show her that she deserves to be happy. At the same time, they have to deal with Anderson’s “secret” work and the progression of Sophie’s illness.
This story is really beautiful and I was moved at various times. The characters and story are very well written.
I highly recommend the reading.
This was a nice read. It really didn’t pull me in like I had hoped. I loved the story, I just didn’t quite connect to the characters.
This was such an amazing book!
I loved these characters so much and I couldn’t put this book down.
This story can teach you so much and is a story that will stay with you for a long time.
Aspen was lost after losing her fiancé. She never thought she would love again and wasn’t sure if she wanted to move on. She became a doctor because she wanted to help people avoid what happened to her. Aspen and Anderson teach each other so much and help each other overcome many obstacles. She soon realizes that there is more to life than working and so many things to look forward to. You have to stop living in the past and enjoy what you have. This was such a sweet story! I would highly recommend it!
*** 3.5 Stars ***
Until I Fall by Claudia Burgoa is a contemporary romance with a touch of suspense told in dual POV.
ER doctor, Aspen, lost her fiancee to a car crash 11 years ago and she’s been just going through the motions ever since. That is until her neighbor’s son, Anderson, shows up awakening feelings she hasn’t experienced in years. But Anderson is ex-military and full of secrets – dangerous secrets. Can Aspen trust him with her heart?
I enjoyed this story. It was entertaining, held my interest, and the characters were likeable. However, this book needs a good editor. The errors kept disrupting the reading experience making it difficult to stay immersed in the story.
*** I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy. ***
Anderson is the perfect guy. He loves his country, his mama, and dogs. He is breathtakingly handsome and sensitive. He cares for his comrades like brothers. Except he goes on dangerous missions that put his life on the line and he might not not return alive from.
Aspen lost the love of her life before they could start theirs so she has built up walls to never feel that pain again that she has never totally recovered from. She immerses herself in the hectic schedule of the ER and EMT, trying to save others to make up for those that didn’t save her Michael. She volunteers at free clinics and basically has no life other than work.
But a dying neighbor pulls Anderson and Aspen together and love knows no walls. It cares not what the brain says. Oh the chemistry these two have. I literally could not put this book down! Claudia knows how to create magic. I love the chapters switching POVs so we get both insights into their thoughts. It’s a complete book with HEA that you will absolutely adore like I did!
