Wow, wow, wow! This is such an amazing book that will make you feel and make you really stop and think. It will make you contemplate the masks we wear that we try to use to cover up the flaws in our lives. How putting up that front makes for lonely company when we’ve set ourselves up so that we have no one to share our struggles with because we’ve made ourselves seem perfect. How so many times our lives are not what they seem. And it’s even so much more than that.
Until I Do is the story of a couple forced to examine the vows they spoke to each other and what they really mean and to decide if they’re going to keep those vows. Ms. Lowe does an incredible job of taking us into a marriage, one that’s not what it seems, and quite possibly even showing us ourselves in the process. The ugliness that sometimes spews out of us onto those closest to us when we let bitterness fester. The hurt and damage we have the power to cause each other. The blame we place instead of looking at our own role in things going badly. Ignoring our own faults while throwing our loved one’s faults in his/her face. How wrapped up in our own selves we so often are. So wrapped up in our own insecurities, our own frustrations that we don’t see the other person, their hurts, their fears, and their insecurities. How we don’t take the time to listen, to really hear each other. How we so easily drop the ball in showing each other that we value each other, that we believe that we’re worth it. How we become so caught up in the busyness of life, the tediousness that we don’t make time to LIVE that life abundantly and make it count. Thankfully, Ms. Lowe goes beyond all of that to offer the hope that is so desperately needed, hope for grace, hope for change, hope for redemption.
I believe every marriage has it’s troubles and that this book will resonate with so many. The struggles of the the characters will resonate, but I believe so will the hope that they find. No marriage is exempt from problems, and it takes intentional commitment to see a marriage through it all. This book will take you on an deep, real journey to seeing what that looks like.
Great read for all empty nesters!
Such a great book!
An easy read!
Another great one by T. I. Lowe. Did not disappoint! Love the way you get drawn into the characters’ emotions.
Cute story! A quick and enjoyable read.
A troubled marriage comes together by learning Gods meaning in marriage vows.
What an awesome book! Such a pleasure to read and one of the best written stories I have ever read in Romance Novels. I absolutely could not put it down. There is no
villan, per se, just ordinary people struggling through life. I highly recommend this book and will be reading more of T I Lowe!!!
Loved struggling with this couple. Every marriage needs to read this book.
Reminded me of a time in my marriage when things were not going well. While we did not follow the same path this couple did, we did save our marriage also, once we got God back in it.
Very good explanation of the the meaning of the marriage vows written in an interesting and encouraging manner. It would be great if the marriage vows were explained to each couple before entering into marriage. Maybe there would not be as much divorce if people actually understood what they were pledging to do.
Good read
It’s a marriage building book
Love anything by T.I. Lowe!
Very relatable. I felt like they were talking about me and my husband.
I definitely recommend this book. It is different from ones I usually read. Mia and Bode married young. They have 2 grown kids in college. Mia and Bode have grown apart. All Bode wants to do is go to work, come home, and sit in front of the TV. Mia works as a doctor then has to go home and take care of everything there since Bode does nothing. Their kids come home for Christmas and realize something is wrong between their parents and demand they work on their relationship. Bode and Mia go to see their pastor who gives them their vows written down and tells them to study them. They begin to realize what the vows truly mean and apply it to their lives. A must read especially if you and your spouse have wandered away from each other!
Very inspirational story. Nice to see older married people work thru problems and still have the hots for each other.
I could definite relate and was looking forward to finding out they were going to resolve the marital strife.
T. I. Lowe writes a warm story of family with emphasis on communication. A good lesson for anyone in a committed relationship. This book is a good rainy day, curl up to read book – something you’d expect to see on the Hallmark Channel.
Very well written.
