I absolutely loved this story. Gareth is an amazing dad. I admire is love for his boys and his dedication to provide for them. Reminds me of my husband. December is quiet but I feel she comes out of her shell has the book progresses. These two have a great, honest story. It was perfectly wrote for these two and their story!
Congratulations, this Contemporary Romance found its way into the top 25.
Very little angst, a little family drama, but a whole lot of love in this beautifully written story, where December Mayson took a chance and jumped.
Keira Stevens and Troy Duran narrate and bring these characters to life.
Won an Audible copy of this story on Audio Bookfly from narrator Keira Stevens, thank you.

Until December
Until Her/Until Him
By: Aurora Rose Reynolds
Narrated by: Keira Stevens, Troy Duran
I loved this everything about this book, from the author’s writing style to storylines and characters she created and most of all the narration, which brought the story and the characters to life. I have had the pleasure to enjoy several of Aurora Rose Reynolds’s book, but this is my first from her Until series, I jumped right in and had no problem enjoying it as a stand-alone. I loved these characters, the main and the secondary, and listening to the other books in this series is definitely in my future. December Mayson, a grade school teacher and book lover is instantly attracted to Gareth Black but she almost blew her chance with him. Thankfully he saw the error of his ways and did not let his past experiences hold him back, he liked what he saw in her and went after her. These two were great together and for each other. I liked how she was with his boys, accepting them with open arms and being so supportive to their needs. Loved how she handled his ex, not letting her get under her skin and not interfering with the kids emotions. There is never a dull moment in this book, there is drama, angst and some sweet romance. Aurora Rose Reynolds thank you for another great story and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Keira Stevens and Troy Duran are wonderful narrators and voice performers. They gave each character their own voice and personality, you could hear their emotions projected into their performances. They set the perfect tone for the story and added the right amount of dramatic flare which enhances the story another level. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for this great listen
**4.5 Stars**
Aurora Rose Reynolds is one of my go to authors when I’m in the mood for a bit of sweet with an extra dose of sexy on the side. It never fails, everytime I pick up a novel by her, I’m swept away to a world where Alphamales rule the romance nation and sweet and sassy girls rule their hearts.
About Until December
I’ve been waiting for what feels like an eternity to get my hands on December’s story. If you all are Aurora Rose Reynolds’ veterans you already know December is Asher and November’s daughter, and it’s finally her time to find her BOOM! If you’re Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Rookies, have no fear, even though Until December is book eight in the Until Her/Him series, this one can be read as a standalone.
Until December is told from December and Gareth’s point of view.
December is the shyest out of all her sisters. She may be a good girl on the surface, but underneath this good girl is craving to cross over to the bad girl side. There’s always been one rule between her and her four sisters, never encroach on another’s territory, meaning if a sister shows even the slightest interest in a guy, he isn’t to be touched. And December has always lived by this one rule, until tonight when Gareth Black steps into her line of sight.
Gareth Black, single father of two, tattoo artist, and mechanic, lives his life for his two boys. Until he sets his sights on December. Now all he can think about is getting her in his bed. But he’s soon to realize, he has no time for games and he wants more from her than just one night.
My Thoughts:
The BOOM factor was everything!!!!
I honestly haven’t felt a BOOM moment this strong since reading the Until Series. I was waiting for the moment that had my heart beating in tune with the characters, and December’s book gave me ALL THE BOOM FEELS I’ve been craving….. and just a little bit more!
I loved Until December!
December and Gareth’s book is fast paced but full of so much love and undeniable heat. This was such a fun and easy read. The exact thing I’ve been looking for in my reading lately. Aurora Rose Reynolds had my heart in a vise grip until the very end.
My favorite thing was the connection December had with Gareth’s two boys, Mitchell and Max. I literally had a smile on my face during every scene between the three of them. These boys have been through it all, when it comes to their birth mother, and all they want is a bit of stability and love that can only come from a mother’s touch. And that is exactly what December brought to the family.
Gareth should seriously get a book father of the year award. This man’s patience and understanding when solving issues between his boys was something to be admired. Even in the moment he felt like breaking down and giving up, he didn’t. He put on a brave face, looked his boys in the eyes and laid the truth out on the table. Those were also a few of my favorite moments.
Gareth and December are adorable. He brings out the sassiness in her and she brings out the soft in him, they’re yin and yang. Totally adorable and sexy as sin.
Overall, Until December is my new favorite in the Until Her/Him spinoff series! I can’t even begin to tell you all how much I loved this book and this relationship. My heart is happy and full. I don’t know what it is about single father romances that has me wanting more and more with everyone that I read. Maybe it’s the way the dad is with his kids, or maybe it’s the author’s ways of having the dad’s seem so freaking sexy and irresistible. I have no clue, all I know is I want more single dad’s in my romances, especially after reading Until December. I highly recommend Until December for those that love single father romances with a touch of alpha male vibes!
I can’t wait to see what Aurora Rose Reynolds has up her sleeve next! Every read is a new addiction. I’m left wanting more and more.

When Gareth and December first meet it turns into a big “boom”, then things get twisted and they both must learn forgiveness. After two active boys and an ex that won’t take no for an answer and more surprises around the corner. I loved this story so much and whenever a Mayson is involved it becomes “expect the unexpected”. The chemistry between December and Gareth is off the charts hot. Definitely love this family so much and highly recommend it.
Ever since the blurb of this book in Until Cobi, I have been eagerly waiting for December’s story. Everything about their story was just perfect. Both December and Gareth were such great characters. I felt such a strong connection to December, I too would rather be home in my pjs reading than going out, I too take awhile to get comfortable when in a new environment and in front of new people. Now if only I could find someone like Gareth lol. Gareth was just as amazing, granted there was a bit in the beginning that was a bit hard to take, but once Gareth realized his mistakes, he was all in.
My favorite trope these days is the single parent ones, but I especially love the single fathers and Gareth is one fantastic father. He is working 2 jobs (3 including raising his sons, as pointed out by December) to give his sons a good life. Unfortunately this does not give him a lot of time in the romance department, but when he sees December he knew there was something about her that was special. And when he finally realizes she is the one for him and his boys, the pursuit was on. December was a bit more cautious but it did not take too long to realize they are exactly what she wanted in her life.
Until December was such a fabulous book, the chemistry was off the charts, the interactions between December and Gareth’s boys were amazing and seeing all the other Maysons were an added treat. There was a bit of drama in this story, but not as heavy as the others. In December’s story, I actually appreciated it. Another 5-star read and highly recommend it.
Good
This was a good read i loved the characters and the interwoven Mason family members popping up here and there. However it kind of felt a bit flat to me i would have liked a bit more angst and drama but all in all not bad.
I love this series, I love this family but Until December is by far my FAVORITE! I loved everything about December & Gareth and their story. The writing was perfection!
When you meet the man/woman you are meant to be with it can happen suddenly and unexpectedly. A touch, a look is all it takes. When Gareth and December meet it doesn’t appear fate is going to make things easy on them, but fortunately that spark cannot be denied. What follows is a very sweet, funny, sexy and heartwarming adventure of love and family. This book made me laugh, and it also made me cry…this book is such an emotionally charged story of a man, his sons and the woman meant to complete their home. You need this book on your Must Read list!
There’s something about Aurora Rose Reynolds’ writing that I greatly enjoy. Her men are totally alpha, but not so over the top that it annoys me. Gareth fits that description so well!
Gareth is a single father of two boys (15 and 9) and the neighbor of December’s cousin. The two of them meet and the connection is pretty instant, but as December’s sister “called dibs” first, she backs off. But as April realizes this, she insists that December pursue things. Despite a crazy ex and a lot of misunderstandings, December and Gareth try to make things work.
I really felt like Gareth was real. His feelings were something that I completely could relate to. And the same is true for December. I really enjoyed Until December and look forward to more in the Until Her/Him series!
Gah! I really love this series and cannot get enough of these characters. Everytime I read one of Aurora’s books from this series I think this ones my favorite, then the next comes out and I’m like no this ones my favorite.
I seriously love them all.
I really liked Until December because it was a little different then the others our two characters werent instantly in love with each other. I really liked that, but I also liked that it kept with the Until patterned and progressed relatively fast. There werent any points where I felt like the book was dragging it flowed really nicely.
I really loved how both Gareth was such a Alpha Papa bear and that the kids where a focal point in this story. A lot of books when a character has kids the kids are pushed to the back and kinda forgotten. Not in Until December, the boys were there from beginning to end and December became a fierce Mama bear. I loved that!
Another 5 star book by Aurora!
Enjoyed every page of December coming out of her shy self and embracing her wonderful, smart and sexy self. Fighting for the single dad with the wonderful boys. Another winner Aurora
This was just perfect sweetness! Gareth and December had a rocky start, but the boom would not be denied. Throw in a persnickety cat, teenage and pre-tween sons, possessive grandma, and meddling mom and sisters, and there was no way these two weren’t getting their HEA!
This was two people getting to know each other, figuring out to make things fit into already busy lives, and making a life that includes all the elements. The good and the bad, the close and extended families, and the pets that come along the way. Not a suspenseful read, but a high burn, sometimes overthinking, just a little bit left of centre personality, and needing to not be so proud, romance story
I loved it!
Boom – she did it again! Aurora Rose Reynolds proved once more that she is the unquestioned queen of insta love stories. Until December was everything I was hoping, wishing and praying for. Single dad stories are my kryptonite, that’s why I knew from the very beginning that I’m going to fall hopelessly in love with Gareth Black and his sons Mitchell and Max. I adore nerdy bookworms as heroines like December Mayson because I can identify myself with them easily. This beautiful and touching story had it all – from an engaging and entertaining plot with no unnecessary drama to charming, intriguing characters and cute pets with attitude and lastly a sweet epilogue with a HEA only Aurora knows how to deliver perfectly.
Gareth Black is drawn to December Mayson from the moment he meets her at her cousin Cobi’s wedding. He is immediately captivated by her beauty and wit and enamored by her shyness. He craves a woman who is loyal and reliable and who could give him and his sons what they miss in their lives – a loving and supportive partner and mother. Gareth has been burned and let down by his ex Beth too many times to count. Despite the disappointment and bitterness he is determined to give his boys the best he can – that’s why he is working as a mechanic and part time tattooist. His mom and his twin sisters have always been there for him and his kids encouraging him to not give up on love and search for his soul mate.
December Mayson is living a quiet and peaceful life working as a first grade teacher with her head always stuck in a paperback or her eyes glued to her e-reader. She was never the daring type who would jump over her shadow – until she meets sexy single dad Gareth who makes her heart beat faster and throw caution to the wind for the very first time. December knows that he and his two sons are a package deal and that they come with an evil ex who has toyed with their emotions for years. Winning their trust and hearts won’t be an easy task but December is a Mayson – and they know how to fight for the important things in life.
Gareth is the ultimate Alpha – caring, protective and possessive. He is a great dad, loving son and brother and attentive boyfriend. His interactions with his sons and family made my heart melt. I worship the ground this perfect specimen of a romance hero walks on. December is a kind hearted, empathetic woman. She loves her job and working with children. It was therefore not a hardship at all to connect with Mitchell and Max and form a strong bond. The chemistry between Gareth and December was absolutely palpable. They were a very compatible couple in so many ways. He was able to push December out of her comfort zone and to encourage her to be more bold. She was able to take some burden off his shoulders and to convince him that accepting help is not a sign of weakness and failure.
I’ve devoured this fantastic story and couldn’t put it down for the life of me. It was absolutely addictive and left me with a huge smile on my face. Aurora’s books are my happy and safe place – they’re my escape from reality when I need a timeout. This book was another masterpiece in this successful series and I sincerely hope that this exceptionally talented author will never stop writing stories about the Mayson family. I’m giving this gem 5+ well-deserved stars and am putting it on my top favorite reads of 2019 shelf!
Gareth Black is a single dad who is done playing games. He has two boys who are his world and he works hard to give him the best he can. When he sees December Mayson at his friends wedding, he feels a pull he never thought he would and wants to take a chance, but he does not know that December is putting her sister first and ends up mucking it up.
December believes she lost her chance with Gareth but fate has a way of throwing them together and when Gareth realizes that December was not playing games with him he takes another chance with her. Should be smooth sailing but trouble has a way of finding the new couple and will the tests that are about to come their way be able to survive.
Another fantastic read by this talented author. I am always guaranteed two things when reading an Aurora Rose Reynolds, 1. Everything is put on hold while I devour the book and 2. It will be a fantastic read. Loved Gareth and had hoped he would get a book when I read about him in Harmony’s book. Definitely reread worthy.
This is my first book by you and hands down I’m blown away! I will definitely be getting more books by you this not be my last.
Aurora Rose Reynolds has done it once again!
Can she write anything that stinks? NEVER…. she could never disappoint me. Where to start with Gareth and December, first off BOOM! The geeky lovable December, I love her passion for books and her not so friendly cat, Melbourne. Don’t get me started on and alpha, dirty talking single dad, for me single dad books are some of my favorites. Gareth works two jobs for his kids to make sure they have whatever they need, along with his twin sisters, I think their stories would be a hoot. Shy December, I love the relationship she has with her mom, dad and sisters, they always have her back. It is always great to get a dose of the Mayson families.
What keeps me always coming back to Aurora’s stories is the family dynamic also, there is not a lot of unnecessary drama; she gives just enough to keep it interesting without going overboard.
If you are a fan of a story with suspense, humor, love of a fierce family, and sexy times you need to pick up Until December and get lost in the Mayson family once again. You will love Gareth and December make sure to grab your cop on release day.
Read: 7/30/19
Until December was Aurora Rose Reynold’s eighth book in her Until Her / Until Him series.
December and Gareth met at a Mayson Wedding. They clicked immediately but had a few obstacles to get over before they could fully acknowledge their chemistry. It was a fun book with a little drama – but not much. One of the greatest parts was watching the relationship with Gareth’s sons develop with December. Reynold’s made them a vital part of the story, adding depth and complexity to the storyline.
All in all, it was a quick and enjoyable read. I’m not sure where Reynolds will take us next, but April should be soon. Either way, I’m all in.
Aurora Rose Reynolds you have done it again you stole my heart once again with these amazing characters I need more of them please . This can be read as a standalone but why would you only want to do that with such amazing characters and story lines that give you heart palpitations you just don’t want to miss out . Until December is part of the Until her / him series these books are part of the next generation Love seeing the older couples they are always a treat to see and I can’t wait to see more of them in the future . These are amazing books that you don’t want to miss out on you need to get them as soon as possible .

Oh man, December was so sweet and I loved how her emotions played out on my reading device. She was a reader which was also a huge plus and helped me connect with her more. Gareth was Alpha to the max and felt the boom to the extreme. The drama on the story was fairly simple and there wasn’t any back and forth, we won’t be the other mumbojombo going on. I was in the mood for a light hearted steamy read and ARR delivered. I can’t wait for more in the Until crew and family. Oh! That’s another thing. I loved seeing all the characters that we already love from this series. 4 stars #2OCCJD
