In true Aurora Rose Reynolds fashion, Until December was charming and sweet in all the right places!
December Mayson is taken with Gareth Black the moment she lays eyes on him. That’s right, BOOM! But though a Mayson, December is more reserved, a whole lot into books and the owner of a cat who loves everyone except her. But what happens when her sister calls dibs on the man of her dreams first? This mishap, though a ploy to get December to step out of her comfort zone and take a risk, instead causes December to run away from Gareth.
When the truth is revealed and December goes after what she wants she ends up rejected as Gareth has no time for “highschool bs games”, his words not mine. And being a single father of two boys plus working two jobs, Gareth doesn’t have time to waste. But what happens when fate keeps throwing these two together? Well, two separate lives become intertwined once December decides to stop running and Gareth is dead set on chasing her if she does.
With the Until series we are used to an element of suspense; however this book was more lax in that particular area as well as a bit more fast-paced regarding the overall plot. The character development of December Mayson was one of the many highlights of this novel. She is no longer the shy one in the room but a woman with a backbone who protects what’s hers. Speaking of, the moments that are centered around the building of her relationship with Mitchell and Max was another highlight in this novel. Those boys, Gareth’s boys, became her boys and with three more males standing behind her and beside her December not only flourished but she truly blossomed.
All around banterful, Until Decemeber is not only full of giggles but heartwarming and another great edition to a series in which fans of ARR hopes never to end!

“So what’s it gonna be Ember are you gonna run or jump?”
I’m crying you guys ! I’ve been wanting December and Gareth’s story for a long time and the wait has been agonizing but worth it. My heart is filled to the brim with feels, lots of feels. Until December by the Alpha Queen, Aurora Rose Reynolds was EVERYTHING!
December Mayson is my soul sister, my book bestie. She’s apart of my tribe now. That just had to be stated before getting into the deets. Now let’s dive in! December first sees Gareth Black at her cousin Cobi’s wedding and the moment she lays eyes on him, she feels the BOOM! The attraction between them is strong even though December believes that April saw him first and is hestitant to break the sister code. So, when she sneaks out of his house the next morning, Gareth is angry and isn’t up for any childish games. He’s a single father working two jobs, and he’s looking out for the well being of his boys. But fate is a pesky little thing and it keeps pushing them together and fighting the attraction becomes an option that can no longer occur.
December knows Gareth comes with two boys and it’s beautiful to watch her open up her heart to them. Also, there’s a lot of sweet and sexy moments along the way. I couldn’t get enough of Gareth’s alpha ways and the back and forth banter with December was just too adorable. Gareth made December fearless and pushed her out of her comfort zone.
Until December was an HEA, instalove romance with a bit of drama thrown in but not too much. The ending was perfect and I couldn’t be happier. This book, this series is a must read! Now can I please have April’s book?
OMG!! I LOVED this story so freaking much! I’ve been waiting for December’s story since reading the last book of this series but I had no idea how much I would love it! This is a single trope story, December’s BOOM, Gareth is a hot and older single father of two boys who in my opinion added a touch to this story that made it more incredible 🙂 I loved seeing the Mayson Clan still involved, still hilarious as ever and… I just have no words to how wonderful this read and no words I write here will make the story justice so go ahead and read because you definitely won’t regret doing so 😉

Well, if you don’t know me you won’t know this but I AM A DIE HARD FAN OF AURORA’S BOOKS! I have read every single one of them, heck re-read them multiple times as well! So to say I needed this one is like saying you need water to live! GAH!!
I totally almost forgot that Gareth is the every so sexy single father from Until Harmony where his son’s did the car damage and heck I though he was going to play a part in that story. So happy he got his own and it involved December. One of my favorite from the Until Him/Her series!! *i am not screaming i swear*
This story starts of with a bang, when December is out with her sisters and April her twin and her spot the same man, but April jumps the gun and claims him first. After December was so disappointed because just from looking at the man, she felt a connection. Little did she know, he felt the same all night, but she had a pact with her twin sister, and she was sticking to it. Which led to a night of in the bed jumble that sadly ended on a PAINFUL note.
Thinking she would never see this man again, after *wait for it* leaving her cell phone at the man’s place she snuck out of then using a lame excuse her sister idea’s to her. She is really hurt by it but did it to herself, she ends up at a tattoo paler to get well a tattoo with her sister as promised, but does not expect to see Gareth Black again. A not so pleasant run-into-each-other later she further kicked herself for being stupid to do what she did.
Little about December, she is the twin of April and is the opposite. Where April is the outgoing, crazy and loud twin she is the cardigan, flat shoe wearing one. The goodie-tooshue if you may. Gareth brings out something in her, so when they someone end up seeing each other again and making it a go…it’s explosive. I really loved them together, there was something about both of them that I couldn’t stop reading fast enough but when they were together even more magical.
There is not a lot of danger involved in this one, more of the EX form of danger. Meaning, I hated her and well let’s just say didn’t have nice things to say about her though out the whole book. I mean who does that, what kind of mom…UGH anyways. This is more on the sweet side, where things get intense between Gareth and December yes but he is so SWOON WORTHY in a sexy tattoo biker type of way. They way he is with his kids…*sigh* so sweet!
Obviously I would recommend reading the whole series yes but this alone, I’d read Until Harmony at least for sure before this. On it’s own it worked for me but again I’ve read the series multiple times. You will love the angst in the beginning, the chase, the ever so sweet and even the jealousy! Another TOP read from Aurora!!

Until December gives us the spark that sets off the boom between December and Gareth. Two people who are drawn to each other from the first glimpse get off on the wrong foot when misunderstandings and pasts interfere. As these two have to decide whether they should jump or run, Gareth will need to place his past where it belongs and December will need to learn that sometimes you have to run before you walk to claim what is yours. A love story that burns hot like the embers in a fire and leaves your heart full of hope, happiness and family. December will own your heart as she shows his two boys that “I Love You” just isn’t three words. Gareth and December’s story is passionate, emotional, witty and inspirational. A story that has you feeling the boom right down to your toes.
The Until Her series from ARR continues with another Mayson daughter, December. She meets Gareth at a family wedding and is in love/lust at first sight. They didn’t get off to a great start at the beginning after a misunderstanding they have as she steps back after thinking her sister April was interested in him.
Gareth has been raising his 2 boys (who I absolutely adore) on his own all their lives as their mum walks in and out when she feels like it. He projects his issues with her on December at the beginning. Once they get past this these two are so sweet and hot together.
It was lovely seeing some of my favourite Maysen’s appearing. This family have embedded themselves in my heart.
ARR has given us her usual trademark sweet romance mixed with small angst and her BOOM! once I started this I couldn’t put it down.

“What do you say, baby? Are you gonna run or jump?”
I have made no secret of the fact that I was quivering with excitement to dive into UNTIL DECEMBER, the next installment of Aurora Rose Reynold’s beloved Until Her/Until Him series. I mean, NO ONE delivers on the swoony romance quite like this author. And after that tantalizing glimpse into Gareth and December’s combustible romance in UNTIL COBI, my appetite was GLORIOUSLY WHETTED!
But what elevated this book to staggering heights was the fact that our hot, tatted hero was not only a take charge alpha but such a “hardworking, loyal, loving, and protective man.” Not only in regard to the Mayson lady he’d set out to lay claim to, but with his adorable two sons! Single father books are my KRYPTONITE and ARR really pulled out all the stops with this emotionally charged tale. We truly got a double whammy of deliciousness with Gareth Black as a devoted single dad and as a red-hot hunk of burning love !
I don’t want to give spoilers but in a nutshell this is the story of a struggling single dad of two boys who swoops to a tipsy December Mason’s rescue but despite their high wattage chemistry his act of chivalry ends in complete and utter disaster. However, fate brings them together again and they get a much need do over! Though he has baggage from the past the sweet, kindhearted heroine infuses all their lives with lightness and joy, hope and love!! And while the romance has its rocky moments, especially in the beginning, once this duo surrenders to the inevitable and hits their groove it’s beyond addictive!
As with all her Until tales, this is a fast burning insta-love story where we feel #TheBoom instantaneously when they first lock eyes at a Mayson family wedding and the smoldering sparks and soul deep connections between our H&h was absolutely combustible! While this book did not have as many detailed sexcapades as some of the author’s other tales, it made sense because of the family dynamic and those that we did get were certainly memorable! They were molten hot and arousing, and left me deliciously satiated!
The plot is beautifully crafted with just the right amount of rich emotion, breathtaking romance, whimsical humor, lighthearted family interactions, and juicy drama to entertain but no ott angst which is always refreshing! And I love how when conflicts or issues arise ARR’S couples always strive to weather the storms together rather than retreating to their separate corners.
But truly what set this story apart for me was the interaction with Gareth’s boys! Max and Mitchell were so cute and they infused the story with a plethora of humor and charm and poignant feels! And the way they fell as hard for Ember as their dad did just made the story that much more endearing! Of course, since the adorably awkward, bookish schoolteacher already knows Gareth’s teenage son, Mitch, via the high school mentoring program that her first grade class participates in, it added a fun, unique twist to the story. And once she and Gareth became romantically entangled, the mutual affection she felt for his sons grew threefold! Sighhh…the manner in which she bonded with those boys just made me feel so warm and toasty inside!
And gah my ovaries were practically IMPLODING when Gareth was in full-fledged daddy mode! The gruff mechanic/part-time tattoo artist, who juggled two jobs to put food on the table, was the perfect blend of strict and firm yet patient and fiercely loving with his boys And the family drama centering around his sons, who grappled with some heartbreaking dilemmas, courtesy of their mostly absentee mom, really struck a chord in me.
As for Ember, she was so darn lovable and real, sweet and relatable, and my heart was overflowing with joy as this kindle-addicted heroine who “always lived through books “finally finds her true life happily ever And the icing on the cake was the cray cray Mayson clan! I just can’t get enough of this big, boisterous family who never fail to make me smile so darn big with their loving antics!! The lifelong lessons they have instilled in Ember about the true meaning of love and family resonated deep.
“Family, love, devotion, and determination are what I grew up seeing all around me. I know what’s important. I know why it’s important. And I understand that sometimes, even when it’s scary, you have to do everything within your power to protect it.”
Plus, Gareth’s close relationship with his mom, who raised him and his sisters all on her own, gave me all the mushy feels! And I would be remiss not to mention Melbourne the “invisible” cat and Sloth, the melty-faced dog, who all completed this crazy happy family.
Ultimately, the story unfolds at the perfect pace. There’s nary a dull moment, with all the romance and drama steadily building toward a chill inducing climax that I NEVER SAW COMING, and finally culminates in a deeply satisfying ending guarantee to leave you beaming!
BOTTOM LINE:
UNTIL DECEMBER exceeded all expectations and if you too are coveting a STELLAR single dad tale that’s guaranteed to steal your heart then you can’t pass this one up!
The Boom strikes again! And this time it hit December Mayson and Gareth Black. From the moment Aurora Rose Reynolds announced them as the next future couple, I couldn’t wait to read their story. Considering that this is my most favorite series ever, I went into it with high expectations. And let me tell you, that my queen of insta-love did not let me down. With Until December she delivered another sweet, sexy and swoon-worthy story in this highly addictive and bestselling series. Every time I think she can’t possibly top her last release, she menages to prove me wrong.
When Gareth meets December at her cousin’s wedding for the first time, the sparks fly. He’s instantly fascinated by the shy and intelligent woman. But with two boys and a terrible ex, Gareth feels not worthy of her. Why would a young, beautiful woman without any beggage choose to spend her future with a man like him?
Luckily their paths keep crossing, making it impossible to stay away from each other. With a pull so strong it’s impossible to ignore, December knows there’s something very special between her and Gareth. She only needs to be brave enough to jump at this opportunity and take a chance on him.
With two boys, funny pets and a crazy ex, Gareth and December will face some unexpected surprises on their way to their happily ever after.
I loved single dad Gareth from the moment I read about him in Until Sage. He’s a mechanic and part time tattoo artist who works two jobs to offer his sons Mitchell and Max a better life. What’s not to admire about a hardworking man who adores his children and tries hard to make up for their absent mother? Aside from that he was a loving brother to his twin sisters too. And like the dreamboat he was, he embraced December’s dorky side and treated her like the biggest treasure. I swear he’s my new favorite book hero from Aurora!
December was such a sweet, nerdy and loveable heroine. I’ve found so many similarities between me and her like our love for reading and watching iconic movies like Back To The Future. She might have been a little shy on the outside, but she had a heart of a lioness who fought for the people she cared about. I loved watching her grow close with Gareth’s children and showing them what true family and love look like.
There are not enough words in this world to describe the magic of Gareth and December! Their connection was so special and their chemistry so strong, it was impossible to not be swept away by it. December was the kind of woman Gareth was always looking for: loyal, loving and honest to the bone. Someone he and his boys could count on. But he wasn’t the only one who’s dream came true. Through Gareth December had found her real life hero who made her live and experience life outside of books. Epic love stories like this make my reader heart burst from sheer happiness.
At the end of my review I want to bow to Aurora Rose Reynolds for surpassing all of my expectations. I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that Until December is seriously one of the best books she’s ever written! There are so many aspects of this book that I loved but one stood out for me: the importance of a family. And that doesn’t only mean blood! Being family means loving and supporting each other and staying when things get tough. I’m so glad that Gareth and his boys found that through December.
Now please everyone go and do yourself a favor by picking up this book. It will bring you joy far beyond your imaginations. 5+ stars!
Take a Bow Aurora Rose Reynolds this book is fucking awesome. You have given us yet another 10 Star read. You have the most awesome way with words and like always always I enthralled and captived from page one.
Gareth and Decency whome we already finally get their story and ohhhh how beautiful a story they get.
Gareth is amazing Single dad (We need more dads like him in this world) he works damn hard for his boys and he is always there for his family and friends. He is Protective and Loyal. He sets the Bar really high.
December is such sweet yet Sassy heroine. How she handles kids and her family that itself is so swoony. She is definitely no man’s door mat. I adore how she never let Gareth get away shit and at the same time how she handled the boys.
This book proves that just because you give birth to a child doesn’t make you a mother. You don’t have to be blood to love children like they you own. Gareths boys are hard not to love and adore. They really give a lovely side to this story and make it even more beautiful.
Grab this book because you know ARR always gives us awesome sexy time, amazing story, beautiful, heartwarming Dialogues and the most Magically Written HEA.
ENJOY!!!!
Aurora Rose Reynolds is a dear friend and one of my favorite authors. She did an amazing job with Until December. I don’t think I could’ve loved Gareth and December’s story more…and it’s not just because she named Gareth’s boys after mine. Gareth is such a great alpha hero, and an amazing dad. I adored December and her love of reading. Such a great read!
I’m a big fan of Aurora Rose Reynolds’ Until Series, and I was happy when she started giving the next generation their stories in the Until Her/Until Him series. I love her brand of alpha heroes, I love her heroines, and her stories always deliver the right blend of sweet and steam to make my heart happy.
Until December is December Mayson’s story. A bit nerdy and not nearly as outgoing as her sisters or her mother, December is a teacher whose dating experiences have been more of a light pop and not nearly the boom she’s been waiting on. Then she meets Gareth Black at her cousin’s wedding, and the sparks start to fly. Gareth Black, a single father to two boys, is focused solely on his sons. He’s working two jobs and raising two boys on his own. His ex’s betrayal still stings, and because of that and his busy schedule, he just doesn’t make time for dating. Then he sees December Mayson at a friend’s wedding, and he’s immediately drawn to her. Reynolds works her magic with this slower-burning romance as this couple works through their baggage to come out a strong, united front on the other side. I absolutely loved watching this couple fall in love, I was totally swept up in their romance, which was made even sweeter with Gareth’s two sons in the mix.
Until December was a light-hearted, sexy and sweet romance with plenty of Reynolds’ trademark BOOM! I devoured this book in a single sitting, and smiled the whole way through. Until December gets 4.5 smooches from me!

The Until series is really one of my favorite series to read and whenever there’s a new book, I’m just ecstatic about it. I really enjoyed this story and can’t wait for the next one in this series!
When December and Gareth first lay eyes on each other, there’s this instant attraction between them but when something happens they lose track of one another. But somehow they keep on running into each other and when one thing leads to another, both will have to make a choice. Even though it’s hard for Gareth and he wants to do the right thing by his two sons, he can’t seem to let go of December. The more time they spend together, the more their bond seems to grow and their love blossoms. But when a ghost from his past comes into their lives, they’ll both have to fight for what they truly want…
Until December (Until Her/Him #8) was a great read by Aurora Rose Reynolds. Gareth Black finds himself drawn to December Mayson from the moment he saw her at her cousins wedding. December finds it hard to ignore the pull she has towards Gareth. I really loved reading Gareth and December’s story and can’t wait to read more by the author.
December and Gareth’s story started off with a sleep over, a misunderstanding and a rule. Both of them kick themselves in the butt after they realize their feelings for one another weeks after their little sleep over. Loved how Gareth took December out of her comfort has to plan everything box. She definitely need to jump!
There’s a little drama but not a lot with this one which as nice. It was all about them falling for one another and integrating everyone together to have one big blended family.
I defiantly recommend reading this book and all the other until series books. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! And never a disappointment. Go buy them NOW!!!

I have to say I always love me some BOOM!!
Every book I read in the Until Series I have LOVED!! There is just something about a strong Alpha male and the woman that tames him. I always know I am in for a treat when I pick up a book by Aurora Rose Reynolds. And she has never disappointed me!!!
If you are a fan of the Alpha Hero and have never read a book by Aurora Rose Reynolds then you need to fix that immediately. Her Heroes are sexy, possessive, over bearing at times and protective of the ones he loves, but he is also sweet, sexy, swoony and has a heart of gold!! You definitely want to meet them. I will be honest and say that I didn’t find Gareth to be like most of her Alpha Heroes. Yes he was possessive and fierce when it came to loving December, but I didn’t find him as over the top as her past Alphas. That didn’t take away from my enjoyment of this book, it just felt a little different.
What I love the most about her stories, is that they aren’t overloaded with excess drama, just enough to keep things interesting. I loved that in this book Gareth and December talked through their issues when they arised. Another thing I love is all the characters we meet in these stories and in this series. Aurora Rose Reynolds knows how to give us stories that are filled with love, romance, family and even some suspense. I am always left with a HUGE smile on my face when I am done.
In this book we follow single dad Gareth and bookworm December. Gareth is a single dad raising a 15 yr and a 9 yr old boys while working 2 jobs to make a good life for them. He doesn’t have a lot of time, but when he sees December for the first time he is instantly attracted to her and wants to get to know her. December is one of four daughters of Nico. She is the quiet bookworm who likes to read and spend time by herself. That is until she meets Gareth and wants to get to know him, but knows that’s not possible because her sister already called “dibs”. Both of these characters have some trust issues, but I loved watching December open up and learn to “jump” and try new things. Can these two find their HEA together?? What happens when Gareth’s past won’t stay in the past?? Read this story to find out.
This is a standalone novel with in the Until Her spin off series. It is told in Dual POV. You don’t have to read any of the other books in this series to enjoy this one, but after meeting one of Aurora’s Heroes, you will want to go back and meet them all!!! I thought the flow and pace were perfect as usual. I normally don’t like insta-love stories but the way Aurora writes these books, they just work!!
Again we got to see other Mayson’s in this story and as always, it feels like coming home when you hang with this family.
If you are a fan of an over the top alpha male who goes after what he wants and a story that has suspense, humor, sexy times and love in it, then pick up Until December. Trust me you will want to meet this sexy single dad 😉
I loved December, I am December!! Her love of reading over interacting with people is basically how I live my life.
December was shy and nerdy but with Gareth she definitely seemed to have a sassy side and came out of her shell a bit. I loved Gareth and also wanted to strangle him a few times.
I was happy when December had an immediate connection to Max and Mitchell and seeing the loving relationship form not only with her and Gareth but with Max and Michell too.
When it comes to the Mason family I always spent a wonderful time reading the story of their “Boom”. Every time, they just boost my mood up high.
Sooo I am sorry to say that even if December’s story was entertaining it was also too short for me. Sometimes, I felt like the pace of this story was very rushed.
That said, I really like December, she was a bookworm, just like me, so it was hard not to like her and connect with her character even more. As for Gareth, he was an OK hero to me. I don’t know why, because I didn’t find any flaws in him but he also didn’t knock me off my feet. He was an amazing father to his two sons and they were very sweet. The chemistry between him and December was amazing. The author really matched them perfectly. If only ARR could give December and Gareth more chapters to build their relationship on solid ground with perhaps more complex background activities, then their story would be more like ” The Boom” that I love so much in her first original Until series. Maybe it could even become something even better.
Overall, I like Until December very much. It was really sweet and funny. And I definitely will read her next books. I hope April story will come next and I actually can’t wait.
Aurora Reynolds writes my kind of books!! The perfect mix of alpha male, steamy chemistry with just enough drama/action!!! Love all of her books!!!!
This one totally melted my heart!! Gareth, a single Dad spots December across a crowded a room and feels the connection straight away but with misunderstandings, will it stop before it starts?
Thankfully, yes!! December is just beautiful, inside and out and soon her and Gareth have sorted through the misunderstandings and she is building a relationship with his sons.
But with a jealous ex-wife who is determined to ruin everything, can they stay the course?
My heart!!!
4.5 Stars!
I’m such a sucker for kids and that ending just got me in the heart. I also love a good single dad story. I actually wasn’t a fan of Gareth at first. I just wanted him to get his head out of his ass. What I did really like was that this couple didn’t take long to just put it all out there. I love it when a couple is honest and don’t try playing games.
Seeing December show those boys what a mom should be like is where I got my true enjoyment with this story. She was a sweet heroine. She handled the ex with grace that just made me love her character more. Usually it’s the hero that has my attention but December was the one who shined in this book.
