Dreams.I never had one. Never even knew what a dream was until a certain unassuming Carpino waltzed into my life. That day my world tilted. It became unhinged. I might not have been a dreamer, but she was. She wrote the words missing from my life. Her notes ignited my heart. Her flame lit up my darkness. Her dreams became mine and I’d move heaven and earth to give them life. Especially when my past … to give them life.
Especially when my past surfaced and threatened to kill every dream we had.
Until Avery, I had nothing.
But I’m Link Forester. I’d fight for her, for us, because right now, I have everything to lose.
Warning: The author will have a dramatic fit—Scarlett O’Hara style—if anyone under the age of eighteen touches this book.

Until Avery by Brynne Asher is both part of the Happily Ever Alpha World and also book four in her Carpino series. I’ve been on a quest to read the books in the Happily Ever Alpha World and this was next. It was the perfect mix of sweet, sexy and suspenseful.
Avery Carpino is twenty years old and is a junior in college in Nashville. She’s studying child development but her true love lies in writing music. Which is what brought her to the club, The Knot, that night and found her staring into the bluest eyes she’s ever seen. It’s the night that changed her life.
Link Forester is twenty eight years old and owns the night club, The Knot. He just happened to be working the door that night when Avery showed up. After that night, she was all Link could think about. How would he ever find her again? Then fate helped out and brought them together again. This time, Link wouldn’t let her get away.
“This man made of muscle, tattoos, and all things rough around the edges, could ruin me in a way I’d beg for more.”
Just when it seemed that happiness had found them, something from the life Link left behind in Vegas follows him to Nashville and threatens the one thing that has become the most important thing of all to him, Avery.
I loved these two together. Link is my favorite kind of hero, all tatted up and tough but really, he’s all soft and squishy for the woman he loves. It’s silly but I don’t think the author ever used the word Boom in this. I can’t help it but I look forward to that in every one of these books, where they finally realize that they just experienced “the boom!” But whether it was said out loud or not, Link definitely felt it. Because he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she was it for him.
This is a novella but had the feel of a longer book due to the character development and a strong storyline. I still would’ve loved more of this couple because they were so enjoyable to read about. The banter between them was perfect and the humor sprinkled liberally throughout the story added to my overall enjoyment. With a couple of time jumps into the future for the epilogue and an amazing HEA, this one will definitely be going onto my reread shelf!
Until Avery by Brynne Asher is part of the Kindle Worlds: Happily Ever Alpha series for Aurora Rose Reynolds. I really enjoyed this novella, which is a Carpino/Mayson crossover. I’ve been REALLY looking forward to reading this book, it has 2 families that I love reading about – the Carpinos and the Maysons. Brynne Asher did an awesome job writing about the Mayson boys and their wives – they acted/reacted exactly how I would have expected them to from reading their own stories in The Until Series.
I love how Avery Carpino and Link Forester initially meet in this story – you can tell immediately that the chemistry between them is going to be super hot!! Link is friends with the Mayson boys (especially Nico) and grew up with them. He is basically part of their family, and it is his connection to them that has him unexpectedly meeting Avery again.
This novella is written in dual POV (which I love!), and being a novella everything moves pretty quickly – the storyline and the relationship between Link and Avery. Avery is hilarious at times, especially with some of the nicknames she comes up with for Link. I laughed when she refers to him in the story as ” Link Whatshisface”. Avery is sweet, fun and definitely sassy, and she brings out the protective side of all the alphas in this story, Link and the Maysons.
I was so happy to see some of my favourite Carpinos (and Maysons!) appear in this story, albeit briefly. Reading this crossover reminded me how much I enjoyed the original series of both of these families, whilst also developing new favourites to love with Link and Avery. Until Avery was a quick, fun, at times really hot read, and I definitely enjoyed reading it.
I love the Carpino’s Series, I love the Until Series so of course I loved “Until Avery”.
Link and Avery were perfect together. Avery was sassy and funny and kept Link on his toes. Link was a strong alpha character with his sexy smirk and tattoos.
I enjoyed the suspense element of this book. Nothing felt rushed and we got enough of each character to make it feel like a full novel.
Great work by Brynne Asher!
Gah what I wouldn’t give for more of this sweet story…..but if Brynne Asher writes it you can bet I’m gonna read it whether it’s a novel or a novella.
This is the second book of this authors that I have read and boy will I be reading more! I loved how the author was able to make insta love believable and hit! The BOOM was in full effect and now I want more! Well written!
Until Avery is Brynne Asher’s novella crossing her Carpino series with Aurora Rose Reynold’s Until series. This might be a short novella but it is packed full of intrigue and heat that will have you captivated the entire time you’re reading. Avery and Link amazing together and their connection was super evident from that first meeting on.
I’m not a huge novella lover but this is one that I ended up loving. There was no moment that felt rushed and the author still manages to keep a lot of things happening to keep it interesting without just glancing over details. It’s a novella that I would recommend to everyone, even if you haven’t read either of the crossover series you could definitely read this one as a standalone
I shouldn’t be surprised, Brynne Asher has done it again. Until Avery hits all the feels. Even though it’s a Novella the story never seemed rushed, she did a fabulous job getting everything to us in a small package.
Link had all the attributes of all the Mayson men, he was Alpha all the way, but when he loves he really loves. The tatted bad boy with a romantic side….insert swoon here.
I LOVED AVERY, she was such a firecracker in a small package, I loved her smart a** side. I really love all Brynne’s heroines, she does such a wonderful job of making them quirky, sexy that have an utter dedication to their men and families.
I don’t want to give too much away, but this is a book like all her others I will read over and over and still not get enough. Even though I received and ARC, I am going too but a couple copies for friends
An excellent story!
I’m really enjoying the large, close-knit families featured in this story. The Maysons and the Carpinos are a joy to be around. They’re generous in their friendships, and take good care of each other. Boy, Avery sure stirs up a mess of trouble sneaking into a bar to hear a single song! Link is quite an unusual entrepreneur. He is thorough, exacting, and once he sets his sights on a goal, he is unstoppable (lucky Avery!). What a delightful love story!
This might be a novella but you’ll completely forget that as you are wrapped up in Linc and Avery’s story. As per Brynne’s usual, she wrote truly captivating characters in this crossover between her Carpino series and Aurora Rose Reynolds’s Until series.
We meet Linc and Avery as she is trying to work her way into his club and from there, their tale is told. There’s heat, intrigue, romance, and characters that we already know and love. Avery is a spit fire and I loved everything about her! Linc is complex and just downright hot. I just finished this book but I’m ready for a reread.
The very talented Brynne Asher had done it again. I still remember cracking open Overflow for the first time. I adored every word, and now the Carpinos merge with another family I love, the Maysons.
Summary:
Link Forester never had a dream. His biggest concern was escaping his parents, and he did whatever necessary to make that happen. He never knew how beautiful a dream could be. Until Avery. Avery Carpino set Link’s world on fire, and captured his heart with very little effort. The words that poured from her heart and soul are exactly what he didn’t know he was missing from his life. Now that he’s had them, and through them, the start of an unbreakable connection with Avery, he won’t live without her. He wants to give her everything, including making all her dreams come true. And he’ll do whatever it takes to protect her and the future he envisions for them. Before Avery Link had nothing. Now he has everything to fight for, and when his past comes back to threaten his dream, he’ll prove it.
The Carpinos stole my heart from the first word of Overflow, as did Brynne Asher. When I learned she would be joining the Carpino family with ARR’s Mayson family, I can assure you I did an embarrassing fangirl dance on the spot. Since debuting this big, noisy, nosy, Italian family, Brynne has left their family to the chaos only they can achieve and found success in writing a new series, but I’m inordinately pleased that she brought the Carpinos back for another crazy ride. I adored Avery. Age-wise, she was very young, but the girl I read was mature, funny, sassy, and bursting with love. Being a music lover myself, I connected with her love of music, too. She was everything I’ve come to love about the Carpino family. I do wish we had gotten a little more page-time with her family, but this being a novella, it’s understandable, the on-page constraints. Link was more than I could have dreamed of. Despite having a different last name, growing up with the Mayson’s was clearly very good for him. He was seriously sexy, possessive, protective, but gentle, too. I was jealous that Avery got to see and trace his tattoos. I want that job. Their romance was swift, but “the boom effect” was in evidence and you just can’t fight it. In the end, I was sad to once again say goodbye. The writing was signature Brynne Asher, and the characters were all we expect from her with a dash of Mayson goodness thrown in. This is a fantastic addition to the Happily Ever Alpha Kindle World. Great job Brynne!
I’ve read just about all of the Until Him/Her series books, but this was by far one of my favorites. Not only did we get to catch up with the overly protective Carpinos, but we got some super alpha male hotness in Link. Link has worked hard to make his club the success it is, and he doesn’t tolerate underage would-be patrons with fake IDs, until he meets Avery. While he knows that she’s got a fake ID, there’s just something about her that does it for him, and he’s willing to take on the Mayson family to stake his claim.
While this was a novella, it still had good plot development and managed to feel like what I’d expect from Brynne, all while bringing one of my favorite Until stories to Aurora Rose Reynolds’ world.
I think we all knew if there was going to be a Carpino and Mayson book it was going to be….BOOM…ya’ll knew I couldn’t resist that. This book was so good. Avery and Link share a sweet moment together, before she walks away. Link is like family with the Maysons and that’s where he sees his little one, that he can’t stop thinking about. And she just so happens to be Nico’s babysitter…yeah, Nico was so happy about that *shakes head*.
Safe read with so much heat, chemistry and a dirty talking alpha…you’re welcome…get your one-click on. Loved the use of Whatshisface …laughed so hard at that one. We get to see many of our favorite Mayson brothers, oh and some of their shenanigans. And also our Carpino favorites too. Great storyline and I loved these two families in one book. There is some suspense/action, which I always love. There was such a great epilogue, with a few timelines, warmed my heart. Loved these two.
I loved Link! He’s totally swoon worthy and is a great combo of bad boy and a gentleman with Avery. I also loved Avery. So naturally, together they were perfect. It’s always hard to have a novella with a good amount of character development and a full storyline, but Brynne did a great job of that here. Plus there’s added suspense, which is great! This was my first novella in the Happily Ever After Alpha World and I’ll definitely be reading more of them in the future!
Hmmmmm mmmmm good!! The more of Brynne Asher stories I read, the more I fall in love with her writing style and worlds and characters. Until Avery is no exception.
From beginning to end, I just flat out swooned and enjoyed this story. Avery is the exception to alot of 20yr old characters – she’s smart and mature to go with her sweet and fun. And her “bad girl” moments just made me giggle. Link was tough, swoony, sweet, alpha bossy, and showed just how much Avery was his everything. Loved how sweet and charming their hea was and I adored watching their BOOM come over them.
A great, fun and quick read. Staying true to the Until series, insta-love is in store for alpha Link and sassy Avery. As well as staying true to the Carpino’s there’s some suspense thrown in. Devoured in one sitting and highly enjoyed this read.
Oh my gosh I absolutely LOVED this story!! Couldn’t turn the pages quickly enough. Brynne captured the feel of the Until series of books perfectly but it still had her Carpino family feel. I absolutely ADORED Link. Yum! He was just the right amount of alpha. And Avery was a Brynne Asher female character – strong, funny and exact right amount of sweet. Gah! Bummed it’s over – a novella of these two was not enough

Avery is trying to get into a club to see a band but being underage and carded by the owner Link it’s not going to happen. He’s officially crushes her dream. She does however manage to get in with her girlish charm and when you find out why she’s so eager, it’s kinda cool.
Link is best friends with Nico Mayson and is invited to Nico’s kids birthday party and who does he see ‘Avery Carpino’ small world.
Their meeting again is very cute. I liked these two together, they so adorable. Link is very smooth and flirty and Avery is funny and sweet. Although I have read this author before, I’m new to this Carpino and the Mayson.
I cannot say enough words to recommend this story. It’s the perfect blend of Brynne Asher’s Carpino Series and Aurora Rose Reynolds’s Until Series. It has everything and all the feels: action, suspense, humor, love, romance. It’s shorter than Ms. Asher’s usual novels—this one is a novella—but that doesn’t detract from the experience of reading her words.
I highly enjoyed seeing both families make appearances. I loved Avery’s family’s reaction because it was so real. I loved the chemistry and dedication between both main characters. And, I LOVED how much Link believed and supported Avery.
It all began with one song . . .
