I did it! I’m free. Well sort of. Freedom isn’t as cut and dried as the word implies. In this case, I’m at the top of Death’s Worst Reaper Ever list. What it signifies remains to be seen.I broke free from Death because there wasn’t any other way out of Reaping Vampires. She refused to let me off the hook or consider other arrangements. I’d have been content leaving it at that, but word about my … but word about my choice got out. Other Reapers clamored for independence too.
Death’s fury expanded another notch with every defection until nowhere is far enough away for me to run to. If I was only fighting her, it might be manageable. Toss in Vampires who hate my guts, a phalanx of dark gods who want my hide, and a bunch of bigoted mortals who’ve decided magic is holding them back.
Pah. They’re their own worst enemy, but they’re the least of my problems.
It’s been a rocky journey. Along the way I’ve uncovered allies and even a man who loves me. Will we be enough to slam the gates and send darkness packing?
We have to be.
No prisoners.
No choices.

This is the final book of the Gatekeeper series and it is FANTASTIC!! I find myself engrossed in the events taking place and wondering how Cait handles everything on her plate. Of course, Liam being there and doing everything in his power to help makes things easier and is just what she never knew she needed. They still have to deal with the earthbound vampires, the dark mages, Death, Humans Rule and so much more. I love that Cerebus acts like a puppy when he’s around her. The Reapers are learning how to use their newly discovered powers as well as new ones. The Sidhe is working very well with the Reapers and they may even stand a chance in this conflict. As with all of Ms. Gimpel’s books, there is non-stop action, constant twists, manipulations, confrontations, close calls, rescues and even wonderful romance. I would love to see more of Stacia, Padhraic and the possibility of another Reaper and Sidhe romance. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Cait and Liam along with the other Reapers and Sidhe have to find a way to stop the Old Gods and Vampires. Cait and Liam just keep getting dragged form one crisis or trap to another. Can their group overcome all the odds against them?
I love this series and the ending was unexpected. So many emotions in one series, much like life. I can’t wait to see what Ann Gimpel does next and what adventure I get to go on next time.
Now this was one that as soon as it landed I got right into it especially since this series is one that is refreshing. Reapers are fascinating when written correctly with it not being the generic. What a way to become the one whom gets on the top of the wrong list too. She just wanted to be free agent not be tied to things no longer agreed upon. This also created a ripple one us readers are happy to ride. The excitement is over the top with so many obstacles you are literally kept on the edge. What better way to read a book eh? When you are not alone in a fight it is easier to stay in it. This one will take all you have giving you all she has. Passion being the main fuel also makes for sad to see it end but adored every one of this trilogy.
With Untamed Reaper, Ann Gimpel puts another great trilogy to rest. This truly has been a fantasic series! I am going to miss each and every character. They have all fought so valiantly together, without prejustice, to rid the world of the true taint–Vampires and dark mages. I felt that each contributor brought something unique to the fight, making the side of good almost a living, breathing entity of its own.
Untamed Reaper really showed us that no matter how bad things get, if you have people to count on, get up, brush off and do it again. Don’t stop just because a bully pushed you down. Stand up and fight for what is yours. Your true friends will be right there beside you.
It also showed that extending an olive branch to one that has hurt you goes a long way to forging a new type of peace. History can’t be rewritten, but that olive branch can definitely help shape the future.
Where will the reapers be in the future? Who knows, but my bet will be that Death will still not be in charge!
Happy reading! I hope you enjoy this triolgy as much as I have!
