Unspoken Promises are worse than lies.Morgan Kennedy and Lincoln Gates have been in love since high school. Their friends have envied their devotion to not only each other, but also the life they’ve made together. From the outside looking in, their relationship is perfect. One mirrored of fairytales. But behind the door, Morgan isn’t feeling as fulfilled as she once did. She wants more. She wants … more. She wants the glass slipper and the happily ever after.
What Lincoln and Morgan don’t anticipate is that a horrific event is about to make them second-guess their wants.

Guilt. It has it’s own lifeline and it usually destroys. They both experience guilt that becomes a precursor to the beginning of the end. It may have started with guilt but it continues to spiral due to a lack of communication. They had never tested their relationship with any type of issue it had always been so easy. Now they have more going on as their relationship spirals out of control. She wants marriage. He is adamantly against it. This is a great emotional story of a long term relationship destroyed by circumstance. This author doesn’t let it go that easy. There is plenty to fight for and with this group of friends who have been together since childhood this wont be easy. Forgiveness is key and they will have to do that and more for their hea. Great steamy read going on to the next standalone read in the series.
Another amazingly written book by the talented H.P. Davenport. Jamie and Cameron’s story was absolutely beautiful; my emotions were all over the place while reading but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Their group of friends are so support, the love that they show one another is so inspiring.
Thank you Heather for this well written story.

Morgan and Lincoln have been friends since he moved to town when Lincoln was accepted into their little group. Early in high school they moved their friendship to the next level and have been joined at the hip since. From the outside looking in they looked like the perfect couple with the perfect life. Working side by side him running Aces and her running Redemption they appear to have it all.
But communication is key in any relationship. While each of them are dealing with their quilt of that horrible night at Redemption they start to drift apart, choosing to deal alone instead of leaning on each other. Once the lines of communication start to falter it becomes harder and harder to seal the cracks.
When fears of the past start to squish dreams of the future, they start to wonder if you have picked the right path or people. Has the joy and happiness of others clouded what they know as their happiness? Is she just setting herself up for more heartache? But can she live without him? Will they survive if the don’t have each other?
H.P. does a wonderful job of pulling you in with the emotions that these beautiful characters are dealing with. All the while she keeps us up to date with the characters of the past and give us little tidbits of the characters we still don’t know that well. This book is a great reminder that life is not always smooth sailing and love is not always enough, it is work, damn hard work to make a relationship work and keep it working. Don’t give up, your happiness is worth it in the end.
I am excited to see what she will bring us when she brings Christian to the table.
