I once loved a boy who grew into a man. A man that promised me stability, loyalty, and a lifetime of security. I had it all – at least I thought so. Until mere minutes with someone else made me want for more. More than I already had. Forbidden wants that I shouldn’t wish for. Cade Ryder was everything my Ivy League pedigree should have stayed away from. Every sane part of my existence screamed … for me to keep my distance. Distance from where he worked. Distance from him, his body, and his soul-searing eyes. But the more I stayed away, the more our lives merged. Now my life, my normal, is unraveled. My heart, my hope, my new future all in the hands of a tall, tatted bartender. I planned my forever with the perfect man. But sometimes the heart wants more than stability, more than security, more than what others want for you. One thing’s for sure, destiny can’t be planned.

For strange reason, this story draws you in from the beginning. Two people who puts everyone else above themselves falls in love and have to find strength to find themselves and strength to keep their relationship. The story is beautifully written, the characters are compelling, as well as heated romance between them.
A great read. It’s sweet and angsty with drama and heartbreaking moments. It will have you feeling all sorts of emotions as it consumes you from beginning to end. It’s well written with characters you will love. The connection and chemistry between the characters is sizzling and sexy. I enjoyed reading their journey as they overcome obstacles and insecurities. Looking forward to reading more. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I had previously read Mia Kayla’s Torn duet, so I knew I liked her writing style. And she has a way of telling a story so that you truly care about these flawed characters. That was most certainly the case with Unraveled, as well.
Angie had been with her boyfriend, Roland, since they were sixteen years old, but there was something missing in their relationship now. Priorities had shifted, and she was no longer happy with the status quo. So she ends things with Roland, who has a difficult time accepting this new reality. Enter Cade- holy hotness and sweetness!- who sparks something in Angie that has been missing. But then add in a meddling mother, a difficult upbringing, a persistent ex- things just get complicated.
I really liked that Angie was so flawed. Some may feel that she is wishy-washy or has no backbone, but I felt that it truly made her who she was; she wants to make everyone happy, even if it keeps her unhappy. Cade is one hot man! I loved that he was so committed right from the beginning, and endured Angie’s back and forth, while exuding his own strength. I loved his family and his devotion to them! One last thing that I really liked was that it was Angie who messed things up; so often, it is the guy who messes things up and the girl who has to learn to forgive. One thing that I wish was different was that the ending just seemed a little rushed for me. I wish that their separation had lasted a little longer. But I loved the HEA!
Mia Kayla writes some wonderful, imperfect, and real characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next for the Ryder Boys!
4.5 STARS!!
Unraveled was such a great read. I enjoyed the characters, the storyline and this story because it made me feel a whole lot of emotions. I finished this book in one sitting and was not ready for the end. I absolutely loved Cade. I enjoyed Angelica’s character. However, she was so indecisive and went along with things too easily, and that’s the only thing that stopped me from rating this book 5 stars. I wanted Angie to make her decision and stick with it without worrying about how her mother would feel. Angie had the best sister ever; I enjoyed Christene a lot, and her character made me laugh. I loved the bond these two sisters had and I also loved the bond Cade had with his brothers Wyatt and Jordan. Their mom was the best and she raised such fantastic boys even with everything that happened. I would definitely love for all of these characters, well everyone except Roland, to make an appearance in the next book. This book can be read as a standalone and I definitely look forward to the next book in this series, and other books from this author. I highly recommend this book. This is one I’m sure all romance readers will love. I can’t wait for more.
Unraveled is your next 5 star read! Mia Kayla gives the term opposites attract a whole new meaning with her first book in the Ryder Boys series. Torn between a familiar love and the chance at passion, Kayla’s leading lady Angelica has quite decision that she next seems to be able to firmly make. That is until loosing love leaves her willing to risk it all at a chance at happily ever after.
Kayla is known for her happily ever after stories of a love that last forever. She continues to establish that brand with Unraveled. Her characters are established with a history that suck you in to her story making you root for them with each decision they make. Kayla’s story weaves into your heart on a much deeper level than your average romance. Her story of love, family, and forgiveness was subtle but so deeply felt that I couldn’t put this book down until I’d read it all.
If you are looking for that book that will hit your heart while whirling you off to happily ever after then look no further than Unraveled.
I’ve read most of Ms. Kayla’s books and I adore the ones that I’ve read. But every author has THE book, and I do believe that this book is that one!! I just, I still don’t have any words to describe everything I felt while reading this book!!
First of all, Angie. She’s got such a sweet heart, she’s beautiful inside and out, she’s good at her job and she’s someone I would love to have as a friend in this life!! Cade, he’s sexy and alpha and oh so attractive. But more than that he’s sweet, has a heart of gold, and a big one at that, and just this side that you don’t normally see in a guy. In case you haven’t noticed, I have a huge major crush on this amazing man!! Hello new book boyfriend!
Together these two, there are really not words honestly. They are magical and sweet and also plain flaming hot. But they have an adventure because of some going ons in the story. I won’t go into much detail but these two both learn some important lessons. One being love isn’t easy, you have to fight for what you want and fight is what these two do.
Ok so this review does no justice for the book I just finished. Just know, and yes I’m saying it again but hush, this is THE book to read. You’ll be in love from beginning to end! Don’t believe me? Then pick it up and see for yourself. And you’ll see I’m one hundred percent correct on this!!
