This was not an easy story for me to read since it involves a 13-year-old pregnant girl. It also shows the evil, uncaring heart of the father who wants to destroy his brother. Kennedy is caught in the middle since she cares so much for the girl who is too young to have to suffer all the things that happen to her. It is excellently written & so very true to life. I received a free copy from the author. This is my voluntary opinion.
The is the first book in the Kennedy Stern Christian Suspense series. I was looking forward to reading it since I love suspense/mystery books and being a Christian book I know it won’t have a lot of profanity. It to me awhile to get into the book. It was a little slow in the beginning but then it picked up and I enjoyed it. I’m thinking since it’s a new series, the author had to go more in depth with the character.
In the story, during the time Kennedy and Jodie were being held hostage, I really enjoyed the way the author made the characters react to each other. The character building at this time was great. Since Kennedy had her first day volunteering at a pregnancy site, she believes abortions were wrong but as she was kidnapped she started questioning her beliefs and if God was truly who is he. The ending was good and left you wondering what’s next for Kennedy. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
loved the book.
I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.
I could not put this down read it in one day.
I really like this author’s writing style.
This is the first mystery by Alana I have read and loved it! The story line itself touches on topics true to life and some I can relate to well. The way Kennedy’s loving heart for this girl puts her into a multi-layered chain of events is touching. Knowing this is the first in a series I believe the life of Kennedy is like an onion in that I can’t wait to read the layers as they are peeled off! With Kennedy just starting into life on her own the truth of who she really is & ways her upbringing and those who taught or influenced her are neat to watch. By far the best to see is the way she is beginning realize how God truly has been the One planning her life from the day she was conceived! Excited to read more!
Great book, kept my interest. Cannot wait to read book 2
Unplanned by Alana Terry is a breath of fresh air in Christian books. It deals with real issues in a realistic and suspenseful manner without getting platitudinous, mushy, preachy, or predictable.
I really enjoyed this book. It confirms my belief that we need to love others like Chrst loves them. Many things are not truly black or white and we need to keep open minds and hearts and be non-judge mental.
Loved the book worse part is the story continues in another book
thought provoking, surprising, interesting
Totally true to life. Too many young girls are getting pregnant and forced to abort.
Unplanned is a great book that kept me turning the pages to find out what happens next. Realistic personal struggles in believable characters enhance the underlying socially pertinent theme.
Very interesting story that kept me engaged until late night many times. Well written.
Good book. Parts were unrealistic, like an untrained person would not be given the responsibility of answering a pregnancy center’s hotline, but I liked Kennedy’s character and how she looked after ‘Rose.’
