Wouldn’t put this at the top of my Patricia Cornwell list. The deus ex macchina was weak, and it lacked the flair of some of her other novels in the Kay Scarlett’s series.
So bad that I had to stop reading it. Not for the body parts, but the writing.
INTRIGUING, AS ARE ALL THE KAY SCARPETTA BOOKS!
One of the top writers of our time. I find all of Patricia Cornwell’s book as very interesting.
I wrote my review at the end of the book.
I read this genre as a distraction from more serious reading. It is predictably entertaining … well worth the read.
Patricia Cornwell is a good writer who just misses being a great one by how she lays out her books. The opening chapters ropes you in and make you want to turn the pages to find out what happens next. the build up to the storylines are great and the attention to detail makes the reader feel like they are right next to the Dr. Scarpetta when she …
The Scarpetta books have become darker and depressing. Read the book but this is my last. Really enjoyed the “old Scarpetta” series.
Kay Scarpetta novels can get a bit formulaic after a while but this is one of the earlier novels and is better told. Cornwell is an expert in her subject matter and the novels are very realistic, well-researched and keep moving. A good read for a day at the beach or a rainy weekend.
Always enjoy Patricia Cornwell’s novels.
Disappointed
This was when Ms. Cornwell was in her prime. Well written, engrossing and great characters.
This was a good book but I had to check and recheck characters throughout.
Enjoyed reading always a fan !
I liked the book, not quite as fast paced as some of her other books. A good read
You can’t go wrong with Patricia Cornwell. She writes so well it’s as easy to visualize what’s happening as if you are witnessing it live. Time is suspended when I read her books.
Another good read with Kay Scarpetta
Liked and easy read.
One of my favorite authors.
Excellent, as always.
