Kay Scarpetta finds herself pitted against a possible bioterrorist in this suspense-filled read from #1 New York Times bestselling author Patricia Cornwell. When a woman turns up dismembered in a landfill, Scarpetta initially suspects the work of a serial killer she’s been tracking. But her investigation turns far more dangerous when she realizes the victim’s skin is covered in an unusual … covered in an unusual rash—and Scarpetta herself may have just been exposed to a deadly virus.

It was great, like all her books
Good plot, but mired in a variety of technicalities. Skimmed a lot.
If you like crime/ME novels (and I do) you will like this one; although after a while, most of Cornwall’s work repeats itself and Dr. Scarpetta becomes annoying in her perfection. This is one of her earlier works, so the “formula” may not be very obvious. It will become obvious after a couple more.
Was ok
Great book. Very detailed and informative. Never realised forensic science was so interesting.
Patricia Cornwell is always a good read!
I read “Unnatural Exposure” out of the publishing sequence. (That didn’t cause a problem with the story-line.) It is always unsettling to follow Dr. Kay Scarpetta’s activities as a Medical Examiner, but I learn so much! She is smart, sassy and very down-to-earth.
A lot of twists and turns. Surprise ending. A little too much detail on forensics.
Loved it
I love Pat Cornwall and have read all the Kay Scarpetta books. The character development is ongoing from first to most recent. If you can handle the details of how she deals with bodies that have seen much better days her books are for you. I probably read Unnatural Exposure 15 years ago so I can’t discuss details of this story, but again, they …
Very good. Experienced writer. Have read most of her books
love all of her books trying to read older ones that I missed before I started reading her books. 5 star author
Dr. Scarpetta keeps you wanting another novel!
