A new romantic comedy series by M.C. Cerny, Unlovely Things is book two in the Love By Design Series. So… whatever happened to… Kristen and Demon? Be warned, this couple is feisty, filthy, and funny and they are definitely rated R for ridiculously raunchy. Come back to New Paltz and join the gang for another dose of big love in a small town. Each book in the LBD series is a standalone HEA … romance.

Kristen and Damien have a deep love/hate relationship Kristen takes to the next level with get childishness. She makes Evan out to be this great guy, but he purposely tortures Damien every chance he gets. She is very immature and makes Damien out to be the bad guy.

I really liked this book. It is the 2nd in the series and is about the long time love-hate relationship between Damien Hart and Kristen Calloway. They were neighbors growing up and have a complicated relationship with each other since seventh grade. They torment each other constantly and are around each other a lot. Damien( demon) and his cousin Hunter, who is engaged to Kristen’sbest friend Taylor Jane are in business together. Kristen is secretly jealous of Hunter and T.J’s happiness and is drinking a lot more. Both Kristen and Damien have been in love with each other and have secret on and off again hookups. But after 10 years of this Damien wants more. Kristen’s friends with benefits relationship with Evan comes to a end and she has to make up her mind if a 12year old misunderstanding is worth giving up the chance to be happy with Damien. Can she forgiven Damien for something she thinks happened? Will he have a chance to convince her he loves her, craziness (glitter bombs, mercurial mood) and all? What will happen with their bachelor-bachelorette trip to Vegas? Will they over come their past misunderstandings to find true love together? This book had me laughing at some of the stunts they did and routing for their HEA.

This book is an amazing read. It’s full of laughter moments between Damien(Demon) and Kristen(Pepples). This love/ hate relationship is keeping Kristen on this whirlwind emotion everyday. Damien likes to push her buttons and he loves her. If you want a happy ending, then read the book and decide whether you get it.
I loved this book from the get go.

Pretty good read! The characters were great and the story was entertaining and funny. Very sexy as well. I really enjoyed it. I definitely want to read more by this Author!
Will admit I had an almost immediate dislike of Kristen, she came off as too whiny, immature and a bit of queen B. Damien didn’t do much better with being totally reckless with his maneuver with someone he admits pushes his buttons and has him arrested, then couple that with a possible DUI and I was not impressed with my intro of either of them.
Damien did redeem himself somewhat as he was actually a sweet guy in love for some unfathomable reason with a bucket load of drama. This was a very painful read as I just wanted to apply duct tape to Kristen’s mouth most of the time. For me this story was just a series of juvenile events after the other with Kristen acting like a shrew and Damien doing whatever it takes to make her happy.

4 1/2 stars
This book was funny, sexy, with heated banter and undeniable chemistry between the characters. You will find yourself laughing and smiling all the way through. I loved this newest offering from M. C. Cerny and can’t wait for “Heartburn” and “Tailspin”. Happy reading!!
Kristen and Damien have a wonderful love/ hate relationship. Damien betrayed Kristen when they were teenagers. She never forgave him even though she wanted him.
Kristen had a relationship with Damiens arch nemesis. He loved to make things harder for him as well, especially since he was a cop.
They plan together Damien’s cousin and Kristen’s best friends bachelorette and bachelor parties. They end up in the same area and all meet up.
Will Kristen find that she loves Damien and can get past the past or will she give him up? Will Damien be able to get past her anger and pranks to be with her other than for occasional sex?
You will have to read to see if they really work it out!

Watching Kristen and Damien dance around each other in Love Under Construction was fun to read but this installment is painfully sweet. Letting go of childhood trauma, resentment and heartbreak is difficult to handle and these two make it more difficult than it needs to be but you’re still rooting for them. Does not disappoint.

I thought this book was funny. The way author worded stuff was hysterical I thought. Damien and Kristen was like oil & water but loved each other all the same. A misunderstanding started years before that neither of them talked about. So they just tormented each other till one day they finally confessed their love for one another.

I was so excited to get to read this book because Damien was such a great side character in the first book who had me laughing so hard. He was the fun friend/cousin, the guy that most people look at as a terrible screw up, and one that just absolutely loved to rile Kristen up. I found myself becoming protective of him especially against Kristen because in book one we do find out that yea she’s been mad at him for a while but we don’t know why until this story and the reason kind of made me mad at her especially since she wont let him explain himself and its just overlooked. Their banter and constant fighting was fun to watch but Kristen was holding that grudge for so long she didn’t realize she was stringing poor Damien around while bashing him to everyone and anyone that would listen. I was happy Taylor helped her realize she was being absurd and needed to let him go if she can’t ever forgive him., I think that was part of her wake up call. Other than Kristen being wishy washy and at times she had me wishing Damien would just walk away because he deserves better, I did enjoy this read and can’t wait to read Whit’s story.
Love finally wins, but the journey was arduous. Something that one thought they saw happen but truly did not happen kept the two from sharing their young years as friends, actually trying to do things that would hurt the other one. But what was meant to be finally occurred!

Love how fiesty Kristen is. I just love how relatable she is. As for Damien he gives as good as he gets from Kristen. The chemistry between then is HOT. Another great book that had me hooked from beginning to end. I so can’t wait for the next book.

FUNjoyable!
Entertaining exciting and hilarious! An enjoyable fun read that kept me engaged and wanting to keep turning the pages of the irresistible craziness that played out from start to finsh. A read that most definitely is filled with smirky smiles tear filled laughter and some pee tinkling. It’s intense sexy and thrilling.
I was dying for this book between Kristen and Damien! And holy did it ever not disappoint at all, these two are hilarious. Between the banter back and forth and the crazy pranks, these two of course are so perfect for each other. There were times in this book tho that the crazy Kristen did tick me off, I wanted to shake her so she could see what she could have. But holy what an ending that was… truly amazing
Kristen and Damien have had a love/hate and friends/couple relationship since 7th grade. He was her first kiss, but she couldn’t forgive what she thought had happened all those years ago. Even though they have had other blips of relationships, nether Kristen or Damien can quit thinking or snarking of the other. The upcoming marriage of her best girlfriend to her best male friend, has Kristen feeling lost and wanting something more for herself and that something more means Damien.
Enjoy the quips and pranks between Kristen and Damien as the sparks fly with romance included. M.C Cerny has yet another hit on her hands in her Designed by Love series.

Kristen and Damien grew up together. He was her first kiss but when she thought she caught him kissing the foreign exchange girl, life changed. She never forgave him and that started their love hate story. These two are very prankster with each other. You’ll laugh at the things she does to him. Never settling down, she uses the cop in town for friends with benefits even though she knows this throws Damien her Demon in knots. There is not a time that goes by these two aren’t bickering at each other. He faints when she tells him the news of expecting but what more can you expect at this lovable man who would do anything for her, including buying tampons and chocolate with Hunter his cousin. I laughed throughout this entire read.

When I read Love Under Construction I really hoped that Damien and Kristen would get a story. I was so excited to read this one, but while I’m overall happy with the book and outcome there are a few things that threw me off. There seem to be a lot of plot holes. Both Kristen and Damien refer to incidents in their history, but they never describe the incidents or fully resolve them. For example, Kristen’s broken arm from childhood. It’s mentioned multiple times and the truth is alluded to, but Kristen and Damien never actually speak about the event and what caused it. It almost seemed as if parts of the book were a summary and not actually Kristen and Damien’s story. There were also quite a few spelling errors and missing words. If both the plot holes and spelling errors were fixed, this would have been a stellar book.

Fun continuation to the Love by Design series. We met Damien and Kristen in Love Under Construction. In this book we find out all about their love-hate relationship – how it began, why it continues and how it ends. Snarky dialogue, pranks, and an entire community as an audience! What could go wrong?

Spoiler alert The story was great loved it the couples amazing Demon and Pebbles especially Just to bad Pebbles parents weren’t there for them emotionally. Glad that Damien and his father worked everything out snd Hunter and Damien became closer great book please read
*spoilers included!
Undeniable push and pull attraction! I thoroughly enjoyed the read – it was hard to put down. I kind of enjoyed the banter (though VERY frustrating at times too) between Kristen and Damien… AKA Pebbles and Demon. The main characters pulled me into their story, and all of their drama! OH MY GOD! The drama!
Their friends and family made really nice additions to the storyline, with almost everybody wanting them to just admit their feelings for each other, and TO each other!
Their history was long, with different things contributing to their lives along the way. At some points, I was worried they might not ever see eye to eye, because of the impact of others. I did feel that Kristen took advantage too much, and used Damien. Not cool! But he was so tolerant of all her BS, which was an obvious testament to how he truly felt about her. She did say that he would always have her heart but wasn’t sure if she could trust him to take gentle care of it… I was really hoping that the ‘Frenchie’ situation (and conversation pertaining to that), would have been settled… I can just hope that this would’ve occurred behind closed door 😉
Despite the way she treated him alot of the time, I love how he referred to her often, as ‘my girl’ (swoon)… so incredibly sweet!
And as a HUGE fan of the totally delectable Christian Grey (thank you EL James), I thoroughly enjoyed Kristen’s reference to, “red flannel to me is the equivalent of a grey tie and plenty of kinky f#ckery”. Hilarious, and totally understandable in the context of this story!
It was a wonderful HEA, and was sweet, dramatic, romantic, and some of the sex scenes were seriously HOT. What more could you ask for? 😉
Thanks you for the ARC. I can’t wait to read more of your stories!
I will be recommending this to all my friends!
