LOVED!
this book just ruthlessly rips on Christians. I understand that her parents being assholes is essential to the plot, but it portrays Christians as gay-hating, money-grabbing, unfeeling pricks when the vast majority aren’t.
There is a picture of a dog on the first page of every chapter on the ebook and you can not read the words
Too much sex, violence, and profanity for my liking. I got the book but did not wind up reading it.
Unleashed – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Sydney Rye’s genesis begins when she’s still Joy Humboldt, a newly-started dog-walker, with a rescue dog, Blue as her constant companion Joy’s life is changed radically when she finds the body of one of her clients and the victim’s wife is arrested for the murder, at the start of Unleashed, Book 1 in Emily …
This book was definitely not what I expected and there’s nothing better than a book that throws you off completely! Who knew what Joy Humbolt would end up getting herself into by taking over a dog walking business? Emily kept me guessing who did it and kept me turning that page to find out what was gonna happen next. Can’t wait to see what’s in …
I didn’t like it at all. Too much foul language, sex etc. 2 stars.
This book was unrealistic. Nothing about it rang true, certainly the author has no real understanding of police investigations. I also found it unbelievable that the main character would decide to Pursue a career after her sloppy work had resulted in such a personal tragedy for a loved one.
Could not read the first page of each chapter because of the page size colored picture of the dog. I deleted the book because of it. Very irritating!!!!
Boring. Spent too much time trying to be cute with innuendos.
No characters worth caring about in the 10% that I read before saving my heartbeats for a better book.
Still reading but is very good. A cozy mystery of course involves dogs. The main character breaks up with her boyfriend, gets a dog, gets fired, gets a business as a dog walker, and finds a man murdered, This is how the books starts and gets better from there. the above all happened in ONE day. Will get 2nd book when done with this one. …
I was hooked early and throughly enjoyed it! I will need to read more!
I liked the different characters, not knowing what was going to happen from page to page. It’s funny and entertaining, also tragic at times but a good read.
This book had me on the edge of my seat. There are so many twists and turns. The characters are amazing. The main character Joy is fired from her job and she stubbles into a dog walking job with a route already established. She meets with the current dog walker Charlene who out of the blue decides to sell the route to Joy. Charlene disappears and …
In 24 hours Joy had broke up with her boyfriend, got fired from her job and adopted a dog. Challenges in New York City. It is what I would call a heavy book, with murder and wicked operators. It is the starting book for the series.
I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Absolutely in love with Sydney Rye!! I’ve been dying to try this series for quite some time and I wish I’d have done so years ago! I was drawn in by the promise that Blue never died. Listened to the first book non stop, start to finish. I love this crazy, foul mouthed, kick ass lady and her bad ass dog The mystery had me going, the characters …
Joy Humbolt worked in a coffee shop until she lost that job. She subsequently becomes a dog walker and immediately finds a dead man. Her own dog, Blue, is her protector as she keeps getting more involved in this murder of the owners of one of the dogs she walks. The murder leads to another and before long she is running for her life. Excellent …
Joy Humbolt loses her job. When Joy
learns that Charlene Miller is looking for
someone to buy her dog walking business,
Joy jumps on it. The neighborhood where
the clients live is in Manhattan, New York’s
upper east side.
Joy bought a huge dog after dumping her
boy friend. She called him, Blue. Blue is as
tall as a Great Dane but much …
This is an amazing book. Emily Kimelman’s ability with words pulls you into the thriller and never lets you go. I couldn’t put it down.
