Eight years is a long time to be gone from home, from family, from the one man that could change your whole world. There were secrets, chemistry, and emotions. Cole Brothers book number four was just as intensely detailed as the others in the series. Each brother had his time to find himself, his worth, his love, his place. Anabelle Copehaver just happen to be that and more for brother Wesley Cole.
Wes was sexy, hot, protective, and honorable. Book boyfriend material? Yes. Great leading character? Yes. Story that had you turning/tapping each page? Yes.
There’s one brother to go. Where or how can it get better. Each story brings you closer to have a team of go-to book boyfriends to pull from.
Unleash You is another wonderful book in the Cole Brothers series by Diana A. Hicks. Years after leaving her home, Anabelle Copenhaver comes finally returns. The place has caused such heartache and just when she thought things couldn’t get any worse, there isn’t anyone to greet her because her only living relative is missing. The absence of Ana’s brother, Charlie, is exacerbated by the fact that Wesley Cole, the son of her family home’s neighbors, is now in full control of Ana’s estate until she turns 25. She doesn’t need a babysitter, especially not the Cole brother has has always held a soft spot in her heart.
Wesley Cole feels guilty for the men he had to leave behind in a failed mission in Venezuela. He’s been searching for Charlie since that fateful day but Charlie manages to keep evading Wesley’s attempts. When Anabelle returns to their family home to discover Charlie missing, Wesley will do anything and everything to keep her safe. Except, safe is not what Ana cares about right now. She wants to infiltrate the harsh jungle of Venezuela to bring her brother home.
Unleash You is full of twists and turns, double-crosses, heartaches, and danger. The relationship between Charlie and Ana crumbled back when Ana was barely a teenager and she’s tried so hard to put her life back together. She knows her brother changed eight years ago and felt that if he could just see her and let her explain that they could rekindle to relationship they used to have. Only, Charlie isn’t the brother she used to know and trying to rescue him may cost Ana her life.
The author injects so much emotion into her Cole Brothers stories. I felt Anabelle’s frustrations and her sense of loss. I felt her lack of confidence yet powerful yearning in regards to Wesley. The magic is there between the Ana and Wesley and the author unraveled their issues layer-by-layer. I was engaged in the story and couldn’t put it down. The book is full of heart-pounding danger, along with the realization that some people just aren’t who you thought they were and others are better than you could ever imagine.
The characters are realistic and imperfect. They are strong, heroic, and noble. They make mistakes, bad judgement calls, and put themselves in danger. Best of all, though, they love hard and true. The chemistry between Ana and Wesley is unmistakable. The sparks sizzle off of their skin every time they are together, whether right next to each other, or across the room. The book flows along perfectly paced, had a wonderful plot, side stories, and secondary characters. I could not put Unleash You down.
4 Cranky Stars
After an accident where her parents were killed and she survived Anabelle was only 13 at the time but she had been arguing with her parents about something that took her father’s concentration away. Her brother who she had been close to couldn’t bare to be near her he blamed her for their deaths and sent her to an all girls boarding school. She always thought of him being home but he wasn’t he was in Venezuela doing dangerous dodgy dealings with the cartel. Wesley the boy next door that Ana had had a crush on for years had taken over the finances of Ana’s estate as nobody knew where Charlie her brother was and if he was alive or not.
It becomes a bit of an adventure book when they go to find Charlie.
Ana had her eyes opened by a lot of what she experienced over in Venezuela.
I have read a few books by this author and like her style of writing. In this book I found I had 2 books in 1. A romance and an adventure book.
An interesting read.
When Annabelle comes home to get her house in order, she finds her brother is missing somewhere in the jungle and the person he left in charge of her finances is his friend Wesley. Wesley, the boy on whom she’d always had a crush. Only he’s not a boy any longer, he’s definitely a man. An infuriating man who doesn’t seem inclined to help her find her brother. No matter, she’ll find him on her own. Some things may be better off unknown though…Will Wesley be able to help her or is she doomed to find out the things she really doesn’t want to know on her own?
Wow, I gotta say I was not expecting some of what happened in Unleash You. This is not your typical brother’s friend romance – it’s twisty and action packed and full of attraction that fairly leapt out of my Kindle. Wesley and Annabelle are a seriously awesome couple with intense chemistry. Now I can’t wait for the last Cole brother to have his story.
This book ended up being very different than what I had expected to walk into. I’m not sure how that happened, but I will explain.
I really liked this story. It was something different from what I am used to with contemporary romances in that it incorporated childhood friends to lovers, broken family relationships, military families, cartels and so much more.
Ana and Wesley come from affluent families that had their estates next to each other. The two families always knew one another and there was an underlying attraction between Wes and Ana that neither ever realized. Ana and her brother, Charlie, lost their parents in a terrible car accident and Ana was there when it happened. Charlie blamed her for their deaths and subsequently sent her away to an all girls school so he wouldn’t have to deal with her. He grew cold and rigid.
Now Charlie and Wesley are best friends, graduate high school and join the marines together. Fighting cartels in Venezuela and getting all kinds of mixed up in trouble. Now Ana is coming home after finishing college to reunite with her brother, but finds he’s actually missing in the jungles of Venezuela and Wesley has a plan to get him out.
But Charlie isn’t the same person anymore that anyone wants to believe he is. Things get ugly and FAST. But in the meantime, Wes and Ana realize their feelings for each other.
Like I said, this was nothing like what I had expected and it definitely kept me guessing all the way through. Wes and Ana have this “true love” experience that isn’t found this way in many books that I’ve read and it was well done. They have always loved each other but were always afraid to say anything.
Overall, a well rounded story that incorporates a lot of modern elements with some high danger risks and adventure.
This was a good fast paced romance that I really enjoyed. Wesley and Annabelle have known each other since Annabelle’s family moved in next door to the Cole family’s summer home. Wesley and Annabelle’s brother Charlie because fast friends. Eight years after the death of Annabelle’s parents and she’s finally coming home.
This book was not at all what I thought it would be. It had love, heartbreak, and angst. It also had a twist I didn’t see coming at all. Now I’ll admit I haven’t read any of the prior books. But if given the time I would have as I believe all of these books intermingle. Though I also believe they can be read as a standalone. Again though, there were a few twists that I think I would have understood better had I read the prior books.
I really loved this couple. Wesley may come off as an a** but he truly loves Annabelle and isn’t afraid to show it. That is once he finally admits the truth to her. Annabelle loves Wesley and even though it takes her a moment she’s not afraid to go all in. Now what I didn’t care for was how niave Annabelle was. I know she had her own issues to deal with but it really bothered me that she couldn’t see the real danger in front of her. Granted I didn’t see that danger coming, but still. It’s great to hope for all good but she just wouldn’t listen. I’ll admit I was surprised Wesley didn’t see it right away either but then again he might have been in denial the whole time.
As I said, I enjoyed this story. I practically read it in one sitting. I now want Zack’s story. I need to know why Rebecca kissed “him”. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*
What an incredible journey! Wendy for Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
This is such an amazing series! The author brings us hot and steamy romance and an incredibly suspenseful story. I love all the Cole brothers and the strong women who become their happily ever afters. Unleash You can be read as a standalone but the characters carry over from each book as well as some of the situations they encounter. Looking forward to the next book.
This is a great read in a very enjoyable series. Anabelle and Wes made an excellent couple. I thought they worked very well together and I liked their chemistry. The story line was engaging and kept my attention with a blend of powerful emotions, suspense, drama, mystery and danger. I’m looking forward to book five and reading Zach’s story.
Unleash You is now my favorite book in the Cole Brothers series. I love Wesley and Anabelle together. They have this spark that you can’t deny at all. You feel the love even before that is so strong. I love Anabelle throughout this series. She is so sweet and has loved Wesley a long time. I love how she wants to search for her brother and get to know him now that she’s adult. Wesley has this way about him. He is so protective of Ana and I love the length he goes to save form going after her brother. You will just fan yourself over this one. I can’t wait for more to come.
This story was an action packed story full of drama, suspense, mystery, secrets, explosive chemistry and romance. It was well written and I loved all the characters! It kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what would happen next! Anabelle and Wes were perfect for each other. They had amazing chemistry! After everything they go through, they deserve their hea! I love the Cole Brothers series! I can’t wait for Zach’s story!
This is the 4th book in this amazing series and is Wes and Anabelle’s story. This is a well written story with explosive chemistry, drama, secrets, suspense, mystery, and is a steamy read, which all lead to me being on tenterhooks throughout. I was intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner and I highly recommend for all.
I loved Wes and how protective he was. Anabelle gave him a run for his money but their chemistry is explosive and I loved seeing their need and devotion, even when they tried to hold off. There is some mystery, danger, and suspense regarding Anabelle’s brother but I loved reading how Wes and Anabelle navigated that while giving in to their attraction.
This story was jam packed from the get-go.
I absolutely loved overprotective Wes. He was a great main character with everything one wants in a book-boyfriend.
Anabelle was sweet, a bit innocent but with a strong head on her shoulders. I loved that’s she was willing to do anything to save her brother even putting herself in danger.
She and Wes were great together and while reading I was anxious for them to reach their HEA because with everything that happened to Anabelle no one deserved it more.
