The House of Berserkers may destroy us all… the men I love safe. Everything has changed between the mutant, the berserker, the dragon shifter, and I.
But what hasn’t changed? We’re in another wicked place and our connection will either save us or destroy us. Only time will tell.
UNKNOWN is a paranormal reverse harem romance. The first book involving these characters is called Untamed, and it takes place in the shared world, Wicked Reform School. I recommend reading that book before this one. This is a very steamy romance where the woman is the focus, and she doesn’t have to choose between her men.

Welcome back to world of berserkers with Kiera and her men. We pick right back up where book one left off and the action doesn’t really stop from there. Plenty of surprise twists as well character growth mixed in with plenty of steam in true Anderson fashion. Makes for a great read especially for fans of the genre, I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This book starts where the previous ended and we get an in depth look from each character POV as they navigate their imprisonment while desperately plot and hope for escape. Kiera, Drake, Alex, and Emory all endure different forms of suffering at the hands of Lord Maxum, Emory’s step-brother, and time is running out. With the wedding drawing near, Maxum is making more demands on Kiera and holding her guys lives over her head. The emotional struggles and head games are taking their toll on them all since they know the consequences will be dire with one wrong move. While Kiera, Drake, and Alex face their own form of torment, poor Emory is lost in a past full of nightmares and pain and terrified to step out of line. Yet when push comes to shove and lives are literally on the line…a moment away from death…can he pull himself out of the past to fight for the future he’s about to lose?
Emotions run high in this installment – the heartbreak and sorrow along with the multiple twists and turns keep you glued to the pages. Action, suspense, emotional turmoil, steamy scenes, questions answered and a few shocking moments will leave you wanting more. The multiple POVs add more enjoyment and depth to the story as readers are given a look into each character’s thoughts and feelings along the way. I love the connection Kiera has with her guys regardless of the circumstances. The unfaltering love between them all is palpable and with the ‘wow’ factor high in this book, I’m anxiously awaiting the next to see how everything unfolds.
This book was an emotional rollercoaster that definitely takes you on a ride. Kiera is struggling as she and her men have to make tough choices that they will have to live with. This book will definitely keep you on your toes and tug on all your heart strings. It’s action packed and Lacey Carter Andersen does a brilliant job of keeping the reader glued to the pages. Fabulous! Cannot wait for the next book!
When it comes to books about Berserkers, it’s usually about males but this book takes a different approach and for once gives us a female named Kiera. After she surprisingly shifts, she ends up having to go to the Wicked Reform School where she meets her three mates. Kiera is one strong tough cookie when she needs to be. This book was well written along with each of the main characters. This book does unfortunately end on a cliffhanger but is definitely worth the read.
Unknown is book two in Lacey Carter Andersen’s House of Berserker series. This book more or less picks up where book one left off, but since a fair amount of time has passed since I read book one, I’d recommend that you have read book one recently before diving into book two. Otherwise, it will take you a few minutes to really piece together what’s going on with the storyline.
Book two continues with Kiera and her men having been taken captive by Maxen. Maxen has a plan in mind to make Kiera yield to him…one way or another. He intends to test different theories because according to the prophecy she must marry him willingly. Kiera is a fighter and she has no intentions of going quietly, but what is she really willing to risk to avoid this impending marriage? This book takes readers through the different viewpoints of a variety of characters. While this story mostly focuses on Kiera I like and appreciate that I get quite a bit from the other characters as well. The storyline keeps me engaged and reading, but Kiera starts to really irritate me.
I understand that the author’s intent is to write Kiera as a strong female character with a mouth who just really doesn’t care, but it’d work more if Kiera didn’t have people that she cared about. I say this, but at the same time, I think that it’s a twisted view at the same time. I wonder if Maxen literally threatened her family if she would care. The way that Emeroy puts it she’d seek revenge, but it seems that she fights harder to protect her men. So it raises a question in me on that level. I hate that she begins to irritate me with her constantly fighting Maxen. Do I want her to yield to him? No, of course not. But I want her to be smart, and it seems that it takes one of her men to basically spell it out for her to finally accept the idea. I wanted her to have more sense, because for a female who is supposed to be smart, and knows certain things…she casts that sense to the side unless she’s using it to hurt someone else.
I wanted to like this book more, but Kiera acts too selfishly for my liking in this book. I’m choosing to rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I just couldn’t get past Kiera’s attitude and behavior. She says she knows and understands the risks that she’s taking, but I don’t think that she really does. I wanted her to be smarter and to play Maxen’s game, but better to try and gain her freedom herself. I like the twists at the end of this book and so I’m looking forward to the next book. I’m curious to see where things go from here. If you enjoyed the first book and want to read what happens next then I encourage you to pick this book up.
Captive in Maxen’s castle, Kiera tries frantically to free Adam from the dungeons before Maxen realises the advantage he has. Emory is free-ish, once again pressganged into his step-brother’s service. Drake is a guest, being wined dined and courted for the power Maxen believes he possesses. Helpless, trapped by the whim of a madman bent on twisting the prophecy for his own benefits, they must escape before the roiling darkness on the horizon engulfs them all.
LCA has done it again… she hooks the reader and then leaves us dangling over her cliffhangers desperate for another paragraph, just one more sentence.
I really love this series. The character work is great and the storyline very well written. I love the characters and the book cover. This is a very hard story to put down once started and I’m really looking forward to the next book. I definitely recommend.
Book 2 in the House of Beserkers was great. It starts where book 1 left off. Kieran and her guys go from being held captive in reform school to being prisoners of the evil twisted Maxen. Can they escape this evil fate? You have to read to find out the nightmare they go through. I definitely can’t wait for what is next.
This is the second book in the House of Berserkers series, and the focus is on how Keira and her men will escape after their capture at the end of book one.
There’s plenty of action along with some steam, and a cliffhanger that leaves me eagerly waiting on the next book!
Book 2 of this series has Kiera and her men trying to find a way to escape Maxen’s control. He is extremely manipulative and is determined to have his Beserker wife, no matter who he hurts in the process.
I liked this story. A bit of an emotional one, but also frustrating in parts. You can really feel the struggles the characters are going through. And the ending? Leaves you wanting more! Need to know what happens next, now.
Kiera escaped the school/prison only to end up in a very similar but much more dangerous situation. Being held by Maxen, she is expected to accept the forced marriage of her own will to make the violent tyrant the overall ruler – but she won’t accept it, and won’t bend down to him. After all, her heart already belongs to others.
It was a fast read with lots of turbulences, violence, and drama, however I felt a bit of deja vu – similar situations, very less initiative to do something with it from the side of the protagonists, more like waiting for some hero to come and save the day. Good thing that Kiera is stubborn and true to her beliefs, unwilling to get broken by Maxen, but she is too passive and not developing enough to my liking (which on one side is good that she does not change character, but also does not grow much). Finally it looks that Emory grew his backbone again, and Adam is the sweetest man imaginable – him balancing the brutality in the book is a welcome element. I felt this book more focused on the feelings and emotions and internal debates whether to trust or not, more than on any real plot development, but I am fine with it as long as there will be more in the next one 🙂 This was some 3.5 stars for me.
So we carry on from where book one left us and oh boy it is every bit as exciting! We follow Kiera, a winter berserker, as she tries to escape with her men, Emory, Drake, from Lord Maxen. It’s a dark and emotional read with twists and turns to make your head spin, it’s also action packed and has a bit more of a back story which answers some questions from book one. Throw in some heartbreak and sorrow and yep you will need the tissues and you have one hell of a second book. Now just to hang on for book three!
This next book in the series brings romance, drama, mystery and tears. Kiera and her men are captured by the evil king. will they get out or will Kiera be forced to marry the king . Read this book to find out the awesomeness that it entails
Found the plot to be dark, intense, and emotional. Danger and unexpected twists mixed in with passion kept me turning those pages. Well written and intriguing characters that take you on a rollercoaster adventure.
So many twist and turns Kiera and her guys’ story is intense and gripping. There are a few unexpected developments and amazing development in characters and storyline. I enjoyed the danger, tension, heartbreak and passion. This is an amazing continuation of the House of Berserkers series.
Woah, this book turned the series ridiculously dark. I felt so sorry for our heroes, they have endured so much terror and pain. Poor Kiera and her guys… A really interesting plot twist, right at the end.
The second book in the series has a plethora of emotional turmoil … looking forward to more in this amazing series … Well Done!
Brings heartache and sorrow
Kiera, a Winter berserker, was sent to the Wicked Reform school and thought that she had escaped with her men, Adam, Drake, and Emory when thing take a bad turn. As the story progresses time drags forward, a plot to escape is formed, and when things start too fall apart they may just have to make choice they will have to live with versus a choice that makes them happy. Lacey Carter Andersen’s Unknown brings heartache and sorrow into the lives of the characters a various points in the book. Poor Kiera is forced between a hard place and a hard place just wishing it could be a rock and a hard place, as that seems like a better option than what she is dealing with.
It’s fun being able to finish book one and two in the same day, however it’s unfortunate that book three isn’t out yet! I need to know what happens next!! And will it be three books or four books?? I really want to know?? What happens??? I have so many questions and all left unanswered! But I absolutely love Kiera! She is such a sparkplug or rebel! She really fights for what she wants even when it’s a struggle. She is amazing. I’m not to fond of Emory, but I understand where he is coming from. I’m trying to figure out Cole, but that is one of the left unanswered things that will probably get answered in the next book. I want princess to come be my cat. I’ll take excellent care of him, he will be pampered forever if he just comes and talks to me.
I flew through this story, I couldn’t stop! I loved it! Kiera and her men are awesome characters and this storyline is incredible! I loved every second of it! I cannot wait for more!
