Oh my! That was a great read! 5+ Stars
Chelsea just found out her fiance cheated one her before she was to walk down the aisle. Instead of honeymooning with her new husband, she takes the honeymoon by herself to find herself again. Aaron has been in Lanzarote for the last 5 years getting his life back on track so to speak. He’s sworn off women…until he sees Chelsea. Will these go against the rules they set for themselves or will they give in? Oh and there’s a killer running amuck.
K. L. you know how to bring a story to life with many elements to the plot. You had me from page one to the end. I thought I knew what was gonna happen but I was wrong. The story flows and easy to follow. It’s written from both main characters point of view that way you always know what each character feels and is thinking (my favorite). I will always recommend K. L. Humphreys for a must read author.
Wow what a roller coaster ride of up and down and the emotional ride of on the edge of your seat throughout this story. This will have you hanging on tell the very end of this story.
This book is a emotional roller coaster. Chelsea takes her break to find some rather scary things as well as well as Aaron. Neither of them were looking for Love, but Love has a mind of it’s own. This is a do not miss book. The banter between Aaron and Chelsea is too good.
Dump your cheating fiance at the wedding, take off on your honeymoon by yourself, meet the hot club owner next door, oh and throw in a serial killer. What could possibly go wrong?! I loved the story and the characters. I would have liked to have heard a little more from the serial killer. He shows up at the beginning and then you don’t really hear about him until the end, so you almost forget about him. That is probably what kept me from giving it a 5 star. K.L. is one of my favorites so I’m always excited to read what she puts out.
Chelsea and Aaron will have you on the edge of your seat right from the start. It’s got everything you need and want from a book, Heat, twist, turns, emotions and so much suspense you won’t be able yo stop reading it. I loved all parts of this book and can’t wait to read more from her.
Two genres in one in this new story from K L Humpreys , love & murder/mystery . Chelsea & Aaron have both been let down by past loves but when they end up as neighbours they both fight the instant attraction that flares between them , as if fighting the chemistry between isn’t hard enough add to the mix a serial killer who wants Chelsea as his next victim . There is just enough of romance , angst & tension in this book & i’m looking forward to rest of the series if this is the start of it.
Really liked this book. I loved the story and the great suspense. I liked these characters a lot and I thought they were so right for eachother.
My favorite part of this book is the suspense element; KL Humphreys throws out just enough clues to both put you on the scent and throw you off it simultaneously, with a truly exciting and satisfying climax (to the story; put the filthy mind away!). As characters, I liked both Aaron and Chelsea, but some of the other characters were simply annoying. Aaron was particularly well written, and what a pleasure to have at least mentions of characters from KL Humphreys’ other books. The series is promisingly titled Killers in Paradise, so here’s to the next one!
I received a free copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.
Aaron and Chelsea are both well written characters! I loved being able to see the story from both sides. Aaron has regrets about how he acted when he was younger and Chelsea has her own heartache. Together they help each other heal. While there is a murder mystery in the story, I didn’t really feel like it was a main part of the story. Good story!
Chelsea and Aaron have similar reasons for swearing off love, but they are drawn to one another like magnets. I loved how their insecurities are palpable and they listen to each other. Throw a serial killer into the mix and it make for an intensity I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough for.
Aaron is just trying to turn his life around and live day to day, that doesn’t include the new girl he sees on the beach, who just so happens to be staying next door.
Chelsea is not looking for a holiday hookup or anything more. After she finds out on her wedding day that her ex cheated on her, she needs this time away to get her self back on track.
But both can’t deny the pull they feel for each other and when it becomes to much they give into it and have a fling. But what happens when feelings become to much, when secrets are revealed and when a danger comes knocking on their front doors??
