I don’t want to hear about how happy she is, how everything turned out just the way it should have. Well, it didn’t. She should have been with me.The sequel to Intentional, the debut romantic novel by MK Harkins, Unintentional is the heart-racing new work that follows the tangled thread of Cade in the aftermath of his heartbreak in losing the one woman he thought was his soul mate. After taking … mate. After taking a hiatus from his job as an engineer, as well as his role in the band as lead singer, Cade reemerges in the Seattle music scene.
Enter Laurel, the tenacious and determined music agent. Laurel is determined to sign him, no matter how clearly reluctant he is. Though they try to resist one another romantically, the magnetism is as immediate as it is powerful.
Cade has every reason to steer clear of commitment and train his soulful eyes, heart-melting dimples, and sexy voice on every beauty competing for his attention. So why does he find himself truly, deeply, and unintentionally fixated on the one woman who is not so easily swept away?

Unintentional by MK Harkins is book two in the intentional series. I do recommend book one is read first as there is a huge tie between the two and it picks up where the other leaves off. The story itself is interesting. It starts off pretty slow as it’s just Cade throwing himself a pity party which I think lasts entirely too long. And truthfully I found Mattie a little too innocent in her desperation for his friendship. Laurel is an agent wanting to sign Cade and the band but honestly she’s not my favorite character. The author introduces characters that aren’t even necessary for the story. There’s enough happening in the story line that the bad guy didn’t even need to be there. Overall it was an okay book.
Unintentional follows Cade in the aftermath of a broken heart. He struggles to get past his rejection from Mattie and puts his life on hold. In come Laurel with an offer that should be hard to refuse, but Cade not being ready does. A year later they meet again. What is supposed to be a business arrangement has the potential to become more. Thrown in a new crazy person and you’ve got yourself a good second story. While it could be read as a stand alone, it would be helpful to read the first book just so you have the background on everyone’s backstory.
Unintentional written by M.K. Harkins is the sequel to Intentional. This is Cade’s story after loosing his “one true love” in book one, but did he really lose his one true love? Unintentional is written in multiple povs so you get a variety of thoughts and reactions whicth works so well with this story. Laurel and Sophie are Introduced and play a big role in Cade’s story. Mattie makes brief comebacks in memories after the brief description of what happened in book one. I really liked Laurel and Sophie, their friendship is relaxed, close and comfortable. As Laurel and Sophie work harder than ever to get the band signed with them and everything in place, there’s only one issue, Case doesn’t want to sign. As the story progresses you fall a a little more in love with the characters.
Unintentional by MK Harkins is book two of the Intentional series. Book one should be read before reading this book so you have the back story and can understand Cade’s the light processes a little better.
Cade was sure he met his soulmate. He’s never felt that way about anyone. It just didn’t work out that way for him. He’s also been back and forth about what to do with his career. Should he stay on the path he’s on or follow his passion? He can’t decide so he’s taking a break from them both. This break is when Cade’s life starts changing again although he’s reluctant to let it. Sometimes it’s best to let things happen unintentionally.
This book was so good. I really felt for Cade after reading book one so I was glad to see him get his own story. I can’t say enough good things about this book and series as a whole!

Unintentional is book two in this series written by MK Harkins and the first book that I have read by this author. I loved the book I didn’t read book one Intentional, but I will be reading it soon. This was an easy read that pulled my heart strings. The characters are amazing and well written and I love their quirkiness and the way they joked around. The story line was great we get to see a rocker who doesn’t partake in drugs and one-night stands.
I just loved Cade he was sweet, sexy, down to earth kind of guy. We see Cade in the aftermath of his heartbreak in losing the one woman he thought was his soul mate. After taking a hiatus from his job as an engineer, as well as his role in the band as lead singer, Cade reemerges in the Seattle music scene.
We meet Laurel, she is a tenacious and determined music agent. Laurel is determined to sign Cade, no matter how clearly reluctant he is. Every time they are together there’s a spark but they try to resist one another romantically, but the magnetism is as immediate as it is powerful.
Cade has every reason to steer clear of commitment and train his soulful eyes, heart-melting dimples, and sexy voice on every beauty competing for his attention. But that’s not his style. So why does he find himself truly, deeply, and unintentionally fixated on the one woman who is not so easily swept away?
Can Cade convince Laurel To take a chance or will they just be co-workers? Can they have it all?
I highly recommend this book and cant wait to see what Ms. Harkins has in-stored for us.

Unintentional (Intentional #2)

Rated 4 stars
The beginning details his side from meeting and wanting a relationship with Mattie ( from Intentional) then we went into meeting the female lead and her best friend/assistant. I really struggled with them. I just felt no connection and couldn’t wait to get back to Cade’s thoughts and life. I actually started liking Laurel and Sophie about half way through the story. I’m not sure what it was about the beginning but i was fully invested near the end of the book. Now Cade and Laurel’s first kiss….DAMN! Can you say Hot and tummy tingling? Cause that’s what it was!
Cade is a sweet sexy lead singer in the bad Hard Reign. He is tatted up which drives the girls as wild as his low raspy singing. It was nice to see his thought and feeling over being dumped. Thank Goodness for Scott and Laurel. They both helped him out of his misery. I loved seeing Cade as the fun loving guy he was when we met him (Intentional)
Laurel is a feisty music agent. She is just what Cade needs but she has a policy of no fraternization with the talent. Sophie joins Laurel as her assistant while working on the contracts and basically anything band related. They have a besties relationship that works well.
The boys in the band were great to get to know a bit more. Scott is a wonderful best friend to Cade! He showed that more than one time here. Scott and Ayden could have a possible upcoming disaster heading their way. Hopefully it’s the next story?!?!?
We also get to check back in the Jeremy and Mattie in this story. Mattie is pretty tight with the band and Cade so I would expect no less.
I enjoy all of this authors books that I have read. She does a wonderful job creating the characters and maintaining them throughout the series. I look forward to the next in this series…..hopefully it’s involving the 3 or 4 characters we need to know more about.
Unintentional (Intentional Series Book 2)

5 out of 5 stars
The story Unintentional (Intentional Series Book 2) by M.K. Harkins is a wonderfully romantic book. This is a story that once I started reading I found that I didn’t want to put it down until I finished. I loved that this is a sequel to Intentional and is about Cade and Laurel. The book has drama and romance. I got lost in the pages. Cade is a man that is a talented engineer/singer/songwriter. However, he is also a man that has withdrawn from those that care about him. Cade’s emotions include bitterness, anger, and sadness. He believes that he lost his soulmate. Laurel is a music agent that is feisty, stubborn, and honest. She is determined that Cade and his band will sign with her. What she doesn’t expect are the feelings and emotions that she has toward him. Laurel has always kept her relationships predictable and safe. Any relationship with Cade would not be either of those. She doesn’t date the talent she represents. With the way Cade makes her feel will she make an exception? There is a passion that Laurel and Cade both feel. The connection between them is growing stronger. What does the future hold for Cade and Laurel? Will they act on their feelings for each other? Will they find happiness together? Read this book to find out. This story is written in a way that you feel the emotions of the characters. It is a story where there are ups and downs. I enjoyed reading about how Cade and Laurel interact/banter with each other. There are new characters that you are introduced to as well as some that have been brought forward from the previous book. I enjoyed the interactions they have with each other, Cade, and Laurel. This is a well-written story that you don’t want to miss out on. I can’t wait to read what the author writes next.
This is Book 2 of the “Intentional Series” and I highly recommend reading book 1 first.
I enjoyed UNINTENTIONAL better than the 1st book. I am so glad that this book was written. I had expectations of how it was all going to play out and because this is a spoiler free review I will not go any further with that thought.
I enjoy the way this author writes. The story flows well and takes its twists and turns smoothly and purposefully. Characters were well developed and all of my questions are satisfied.
I recommend this series.
5 Star
Unintentional (Intentional Series book 2) by MK Harkins is the second book in the Intentional series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading the first book in this series as it gives Cade’s back story. I’m pretty sure I fell in love with Cade in the first book and it carried over to this one.He was going through heartbreak and I honestly felt it as well..I was extremely happy when I got this book as I was dying to know what happens next. Cade being heartbroken finds himself in a not so good place but all that changes when Laurel comes into the picture. Laurel has the attitude of a person who likes to take charge. These two’s chemistry is crazy good. But can they get their HEA?I highly recommend reading this book as well as the first one.I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I loved this second book in the series. I believe a reader would best appreciate and understand the plot and characters if this book is read in the order presented in the series and not read as a stand-alone. The plot kept me engaged. Once starting I had difficulty putting the book down until it was finished. A good book and series and one I look forward to reading again soon.
Unintentional by MK Harkins is the second book in the Intentional series. The book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading them in order. The first story introduces characters and helps show where the main character Cade is coming from. Cade has taken a leave from his day job to pursue his music career. In comes Laurel and the sparks start to fly. The two have some challenges but eventually get their happy ending. Cade & Laurel are a passionate couple and I was rooting for them to make it work. This is a fairly quick read with no cliffhanger. These books are great to get away from the daily grind and enjoy a romantic story.
Unintentional (Intentional Series Book 2) By MK Harkins. Since reading book one I’ve been excited to read Cade’s story. I’m a big fan of reading books in order but you don’t have to absolutely read these in order to enjoy the story. This book does a bit of back tracking so you know the story behind the heartache Cade faces. This book had everything I was hoping for in a story for Cade, I fell hard for his character in book one and this book just had me falling harder. What happens when the one you thought was the “One” turns out to be the one for someone else? This story had me laughing and tearing up at times. I was completely hooked from page one and definitely stayed up too late because I couldn’t stop until the end. I’m excited to see where this author takes readers next. The storyline is well written and paced nicely. I’m giving this book a five star review.

I didn’t think I’d love this book as much as I did the first book, but its right up there with it. You must read Intentional first, as it gives the backstory on Cade and how he gets his own book.
Cade is heartbroken and disconnected from life. As he slowly comes around again, agents take notice of his band and changes are coming. In comes Laurel.
I loved Laurel. She had a take charge attitude with a soft spot for Cade.
These two had an unconventional start but where will things go for them?
Unintentional by M.K. Harkins is the second book in the Intentional series. Following on from the events in book one I would highly recommend reading these books in order.
In this book we are taken back into Cade’s life. He is still reeling from losing the one person he thought he was meant to be with. Left to pick up the pieces of his heart Cade drops off grid in order to heal his wounds.
Now, after time away from everything he re-emerges, ready to try and get back on with his life. And in enters Laurel. She is determined they will work together no matter how reluctant he might be.
And despite his best efforts he cannot help but be drawn to her. However having been burned once he isn’t looking to put his heart on the line again.
I really enjoyed Cade in book one and this was only exemplified in book two. My heart broke for him when everything fell apart and so to see him meet Laurel was great. I loved her character – her tenacity despite his refusal to work with her. They both worked really well together. This book was as well written as the first and a great follow up to book one.
Unintentional by M.K. Harkins is the 2nd book in the Intentional series. The book begins by giving the reader a quick summary of what happened in book 1 Intentional.
The start of this book broke my heart all over again as we relive Cade and Mattie’s story. I was heartbroken that Mattie chose Jeremy, and not Cade, at the end of Intentional. As much as I loved Laurel, it took me well into Unintentional to accept that she was perfect for Cade and that Cade and Mattie would forever be friends. Do not take my heartbreak for thinking that I did not enjoy this book. That’s totally not the case. I loved both books in this series so far. The characters are so well written and the book is written from several points of view giving you a much deeper understanding of the characters.
As well as falling in love with Cade all over again, I loved the secondary characters that we were introduced to, especially Laurel’s assistant Sophie and Cade’s bandmates. I’m pretty sure there are more stories to be told about them. HINT HINT to the author, we want more.
As an added note, I changed my mind as to who the mysterious evil character was in this book many times but in the end it wasn’t who my top pick would have been. Just goes to show how well the author keeps you guessing right until the end.
I give Unintentional (Intentional Series Book 2) by MK Harkins, 4 stars.
*This review contains spoilers from book 1*
Mattie has created a wonderful life with Jeremy. So where does that leave Cade? Miserable. He can’t believe he lost “the one”. He now wants nothing to do with either of his careers. He doesn’t want to do anything really but hide at home and wallow in his misery. But then Laurel happens to come by. Right away, there is something about this woman. He starts to have feelings again. Can she be the one to not only heal his heart, but help his band find success?
Personally, I liked this book even better than the first. Cade and Laurel are both strong characters and I liked that more. The other characters you loved from the first book are back, along with some new characters you will love and possibly love to hate. The story itself is wonderful, but at the same time it isn’t all doom and gloom or heavy romance. There are some fun parts too, which make it even more enjoyable.
Overall, this was a fun, entertaining romance story that I highly recommend. While reading book 1 is probably not absolutely necessary, I do suggest it not only because it’s so good, but you will understand Cade more.
I highly recommend reading the first book to help get some background information on some of the characters in this story, highly suggest reading it. I loved getting to see Cade’s story. This is a fast reading story that I didn’t put down until the last word. I loved the characters and how they were able to pull me into their world and lose track of time. They also took me on an emotional roller coaster ride from laughter to compassion and maybe even a couple of tears. A must read!

“Remember the question you asked me? You asked if I’d ever had my heart broken and I told you no. I’d like to change my answer.”
The first few chapters are a recap in a different POV of the first book Intentional. If you’ve read Intentional already this will feel like a memory being replayed from the sidelines to get you back up to speed.
“…connection, fire, passion, or lust—whatever I was feeling, that’s what I needed.”
When past experiences keep you from moving forward…can you let go of the walls you’ve built up and give yourself a chance at a new relationship? Are you willing to risk heartache and betrayal to find happiness and lasting love? Will you keep living with regret and watching others from the sidelines?
“I wouldn’t allow her to get too close though. That’d be a major mistake. I’d have a little fun with her, and that would be the end of it.”
This book is filled with many emotions…jealousy, lust, friendships, heartache, betrayal, revenge, greed, humor, recovery, second chances, forgiveness, hope, acceptance…
“…he’s dangerous like no one I’ve ever met. If I let myself go, even a little, I’m afraid I’ll be lost…Once he tires of me, I don’t think I could handle it.”
Unintentional is book two in the Intentional series by M. K. Harkins. The first book in this series was a fabulous read, and book two was twice as epic. I loved Cade in book one and really hoped he would find his HEA. From chapter one, I embarked on an push and pull journey. One hurdle seemed to be conquered, only for another one to be in Cade and Laurel’s path.
Cade was so unlucky in love, and I did not see that changing anytime soon. Enter Laurel. She was a spitfire that didn’t trust easily, and guarded her heart fiercely. It was a delightful event, getting to know her. She gave as good as she got and was determined to remain unattached indefinitely. Cade had other ideas. Many moments throughout this book will favorably remain as some of my most favourite book moments. Reading Unintentional was an unforgettable experience, and I am hugely anticipating the next love story by M. K. Harkins. 5 stars.
Unintentional (Intentional Series Book 2) by MK Harkins is a quick and easy read and is a romance with a twist same as the first book in the series. You need to read the first book first as the characters are the same and the stories crossover. It is an enjoyable read where love does not come easy and leads to betrayal. MK builds an interesting story where you know something is going to happen but you have no idea what until the very last minute. The story line flows nicely and keeps you intrigued and engaged and the characters are lovable and believable and told in each POV’s. Can’t wait to see wait comes next.
