Finding undiscovered treasures is always daring, dangerous, and deadly. Unidentified contains two action-packed novellas starring sexy archeologists, feisty treasure hunters, and tough former Navy SEALs on the hunt for two priceless Incan emeralds. The Emerald Tear: ambitious archeologist Oliver Ward leads a dig in the wild jungles of Ecuador and collides with feisty, independent treasure hunter … treasure hunter Persephone.
Oliver Ward loves getting his boots dirty on fascinating digs, and investigating strange ruins in Ecuador is no exception. When bandits threaten his team, a small, tough treasure hunter bursts into his world to save the day. He finds himself captivated by the bright, vibrant woman and sucked into a wild and dangerous treasure hunt for a lost Incan emerald.
Daughter of a con artist, Persephone Blake trusts no one and has a plan—find and sell artifacts until she can retire on a white-sand beach. But her plans are derailed when a handsome, smart, and stubborn archeologist pushes his way onto her hunt. She finds herself irresistibly tempted by Oliver, and as they trek deeper into the jungle, danger follows. And Persephone isn’t sure what is in more danger—her body or her heart.
The Emerald Butterfly: former Navy SEAL Diego Torres finds himself helping the one woman who drives him crazy—the DEA agent who boarded his ship and handcuffed him.
Injured and tortured on a mission, Diego Torres was ready to leave the SEALs and loves being captain of his salvage ship, the Storm Nymph. As he begins his vacation, he planned for solitude, late mornings, and drinking beers while watching the Florida sunsets, what he didn’t plan for was the gorgeous DEA agent who boarded his ship several months before. And he really didn’t plan for an underwater expedition in search of a shipwreck and a priceless Incan emerald.
Sloan McBride’s grandfather dreamed of finding the Emerald Butterfly his entire life. Now he’s dying and she vows to find it for him…even if she has to work with the hard-bodied ex-SEAL she got off to a very wrong start with. But as Sloan and Diego work side by side, dogged by dangerous black-market thieves Silk Road, they uncover a scorching hot passion. They will do anything to protect each other, including calling in their friends from Treasure Hunter Security, and they’ll risk everything to beat Silk Road to the emerald.
Q & A with the Author
Q – How would you describe Treasure Hunter Security?
A – Treasure hunting Navy SEAL style! I like to call this my Indiana Jones romance series. All the books star tough, sexy former Navy SEALs who now work for Treasure Hunter Security. Dangerous archeological digs – no problem. Daring expeditions – sure thing. Museum security for invaluable exhibits – easy. Each book has a fast, fun thrill-ride adventure set in some exciting locales.
Q – Why did you want to write the series?
A – I love action, adventure and romance. I have also always been a huge fan of ancient history. In Treasure Hunter Security, I get to combine my passions: action, adventure, sexy romance and some real-life history, myths and legends. I do a lot of research for these books. Each story explores some ancient myth or legendary treasure and takes us to something thrilling locations: from the desert sands of Egypt to the dense jungles of Cambodia to the cloud forests of the Andes.
Q – What order should I read the books in?
A – All the Treasure Hunter Security books are stand-alone adventures. However, characters from the early stories do appear in later books, and there is a slight overarching story with the black-market antiquities thieves our heroes face. So I think it adds something to the reading experience to read them in order. Here’s the order I suggest:
Book 1 – Undiscovered
Book 2 – Uncharted
Book 3 – Unexplored
Book 4 – Unfathomed
Book 5 – Untraveled
Book 6 – Unmapped
Book 7 – Unidentified
Book 8 – Undetected

I really enjoyed these quick but captivating novellas.
The Emerald Tear allows us to get to know the parents of the adventurous siblings who run Treasure Hunter Security, Callum, Declan & Darcy. Oliver Ward is a well respected archeologist, and Persephone Blake is an independent, adventurous treasure hunter. Danger brings these opposites together, and the sparks ignite immediately. They team up to find a lost Incan emerald, but their approach to treasure seeking is completely different. As they get closer to finding the Emerald Tear, their lives are more imperil, not only from the jungle itself, but from black market thieves who want the artifact for themselves, and will stop at nothing to get it.
The Emerald Butterfly is about Diego, an ex navy SEAL who still loves being on the water as a captain of a salvage ship who we met in a previous book. Sloan is a DEA agent who enlists Diego to help her find a shipwreck, and it’s priceless Incan emerald, to accomplish her dying grandfather’s lifelong dream of finding the Emerald Butterfly. Their attraction builds as they work together locating the shipwreck. Just when everything is going their way, from finding the emerald, to giving in to their fiery chemistry, disaster hits and their lives are in danger from the Silk Road pirates who want the treasure for themselves. Now both SEAL and agent must use all their skills to make it back alive.
Stella Bloom does a great job bringing these fun, exhilarating, and steamy stories and characters to life! I was completely enthralled with her expressive narration as she took me on breathtaking adventures on land and sea!

Anthology: From the two short stories in this book, The Emerald Tear is by far the superior one, even though it has a horrible ending. That first story delivers everything I loved about this saga: cultural tidbits, adventure, action-packed and dangerous situations, sexy encounters in unexpected and impractical places… It only stutters in the romantic part. The second story, led by Diego and Sloan, has a better romantic development, but it lacks adventure and the action is reduced to a couple of bullet exchanges. The story was a condensed copy of the one told in Unfathomed, so we weren’t told anything new.
Cliché: As I have mentioned before, the ending of the first story almost ruins the rest. Am I the only one who thinks that such an early proposal doesn’t make any sense? Oliver and Percy barely knew each other… And that is kind of an habit in this genre. Is it too much to ask for sensible engagements? You don’t need to rush a wedding to get a happy ending…
I must admit I wasn’t very interested in this book, due to the disappointing stories we were delivered in the couple of books before this one. But I also have to admit that I have enjoyed it more than expected and it has rekindle my interest towards the last story of the Treasure Hunter Security.
The first story is The Emerald Tear. It’s full of action, danger, romance. We meet Persephone Blake, feisty, strong and independent treasure hunter and Oliver Ward, the not so staid archeologist and history lover and soon to be Professor. They are Declan (book 1), Callum (book 2) and Darcy’s parents.
The second story is The Emerald Butterfly and we first heard about it in The Emerald Tear. I liked Diego, the sexy, former Seal and Sloan is a kick butt, great woman. As is always true with Anna’s books, there is plenty of action-adventure, danger, romance and a treasure found.
I am looking forward to finally getting Darcy and Agent Arrogant Burke’s story in August. That will be the end of this series but there is going to be a new series, soon, with some characters we glimpse in a couple of these books.
This is such a great series. Each book in the series have a base in fact that can be researched to give the reader visuals of the terrain. As a fan of history, myths and adventure, this series feeds all three loves with plenty of steamy romance, which is the icing on the cake. Unidentified is actually 2 novellas, The Emerald Tear (book 1) takes place in the 1970’s and is tells the story of how Dec, Cal & Darcy Ward’s (owners of TH ) parents met on the hunt for treasure in the jungles of Ecuador. The Emerald Butterfly, the second book, is set in present day and brings the tale of Inca treasure full circle in the oceans off the Florida coast.
Unidentified is another thrill ride by Anna Hackett. Enjoy!
4.5 stars
The Emerald Tear: 5 stars
This story is how the Ward parents, Perspherone and Oliver, met and fell in love. Oliver Ward is on an archaeological dig in Ecuador when bandits come and threaten his team. They are rescued by Perspherone Blake, a treasure hunter. Together these two set off to find a lost Incan treasure called the emerald tear.
I loved this story. I am so glad we got the story of how the original Ward’s met and fell in love. It was everything I expected of a treasure hunter and an archaeologist. I wish we could see more of their adventures together, especially after they started having kids.
The Emerald Butterfly: 4 stars
Former Navy SEAL Diego Torres thinks he is finally going to have a nice vacation on his research and salvage vessel, The Storm Nymph. Instead he gets a call from Darcy asking him to help her friend, the gorgeous DEA Agent Sloan McBride, find a lost treasure.
I really enjoyed these two. Sloan is such a badass and I think I have a girl crush on her. She wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted, especially when it comes to Diego. We first meet Diego in Unfathomed when he helps Morgan and Zack locate a lost shipwreck. I was intrigued by him then but he didn’t get much page time and I didn’t expect for him to appear again. Now we have a full story of him kicking Silk Road’s butt again, with a sexy agent at his side.
Overall, I loved this story and really wanted it to be longer just because I wasn’t ready to say goodbye.
This book has two stories and both are excellent.
I recommend this series.
I felt like I was in an adventure with the characters. It was great to have the original back story.
The Emerald Tear
We are back in the 70’s and get to see Oliver Ward meet Persephone “Percy”, the Professor and the Treasure Hunter, who go on to become, Dec, Cal and Darcy’s parents! Can a sexy historian tame the wild and fiery tomb robber? Set in Ecuador and with no modern day tech the action is old school and action led.
The Emerald Butterfly
Diego had a rocky introduction to the lovely but career driven Sloan. He gets sideswiped by Darcy into taking on a job whilst he should be on holiday. She conveniently forgot to tell him that his new client was Sloan! They both feel the attraction but neither seem ready to cross the line. But with just the 2 of them on the boat who knows what could happen!
I enjoyed the threads which tied these novellas together. Characters from the first are mentioned/met in the second and both stories are very character/couple driven. There aren’t a lot of supporting characters in either book, all the main action is with the couples themselves, except for the pieces with the baddies of course! Loved getting another slice of Darcy dealing with AAA (Agent Arrogant and Annoying).
