CristinaMonsters don’t hide in the dark. When I met Damian Di Santo in a dark corridor of my family home I knew he was a monster. I was a scared girl.He was already a man. That was when his twisted countdown began.Marked by dead roses and sharp thorns, eight years passed each bringing me closer to becoming his. Until the eve of my eighteenth birthday. That was the night he returned to claim me. … eighteenth birthday.
That was the night he returned to claim me.
Damian
Circumstance put Cristina on my path.
Fate bound her to me.
Cristina and I share a common past. A single night that changed the course of our lives.
She asked me if I was a monster the night I met her.
I am.
She’s about to learn I’m her monster.
Because the countdown that began eight years ago has ended. Her time is up.
On the stroke of midnight, she’s mine.
more
As the clock strikes midnight she becomes his.
The contract stated her fathers life for her childhood.
He’s waited patiently in the shadows, watching her blossom into a true beauty.
Now she’s officially an adult and he’s come to collect.
This is a direct continuation from the prequel to this duet “unholy the beginning”. Which sets the scene and introduces his intentions.
The suspence, the excitement, and the anticipation all which he creates had me perched firmly on the edge of my seat, this is one heck of a read folks.
There is no paint by numbers with this book, everything is so unexpected yet delicious and delightful.
I never knew what to expect from him, and that thrilled me all the more. His darkness spoke to me, and his tender moments made my heart sigh.
She didnt act like an average captive. There’s not a submissive bone in her body. Her fight or flight instinct had me wide eyed with wonder and awe.
Natasha Knight always wows me with her words and this is no exception.
I can’t wait to read the concluding part there’s still so much I need from them both.
Dark…..Dangerous…..Dreamy…..Delicious…..these are just a few of the descriptors that immediately pop into my mind when I think about Damian Di Santo! He’s ALL of those and so much more! Unholy Union is the first part of the Unholy Union Duet and I can’t WAIT for the conclusion to find out WHAT HAPPENS!!!!!
After the horrendous accident that set into motion the vendetta that Damian must carry out against what is left of the Valentina family (namely, Cristina), we start to see just what this man is made of…..and he is definitely NOT his father’s son!
What starts with special roses every year on her birthday since the night of her father’s suicide, ends on Cristina’s 18th, when she discovers the true extent of the “deal” made by her father eight years before and I was hooked! My heart near exploded when a young Cristina asks Damian “Are you a monster?” He didn’t answer her that night but he tries to make it abundantly clear after he brings her to his family “home” and explains exactly what that deal entails!
For soooooooo many reasons, this first installment of the Unholy Union Duet is a compelling, dark and twisted read full of mystery, intrigue, unanswered questions and some serious steam between Damian and Cristina! I NEEEEEEED the second book…..ASAP!!!
This starts with the prologue Unholy: The Beginning
HOLY CRISPY CRACKERS!
Tell me you don’t grip your kindle trying to figure out how to save Cristina and toss Damian out a window at the same time!!!
I loathe that selfish blind arrogant…
As your heart rate increases the true story begins at midnight on the celebration of her 18th year.
Cristina is not sure if she should fight or concede.
Maybe a little of both?
How far can she push the monster before he brings down his wrath on those she loves?
The innocent lives who’s every breath are determined by her behavior?
Damian is a bit of a conundrum for me. He is angry and filled with loathing – at times I felt it was more at himself than the people and events that molded his world.
There is something right beneath the darkness that is fighting to break free and I am not sure if that is a good thing or a very very bad thing.
Uncle – I truly hope land in the gutter where you belong
Father – You are just a petty spiteful old man
This ends on a revelation moment – I kind of knew it was coming but still
Need the conclusion now, please
This is a story about lies, secrets, betrayals, pain, revenge and monsters that aren’t found in the dark, they’re standing in plain sight. But, just who is the biggest monster of all?
I loved this book, one of my favourites from Natasha Knight. I absolutely love this kind of fierce anti-hero. Imposing, intense, sometimes hard and cruel, dark, dominant and possesive, but there’s that chink of light hidden away that only comes out to play with the woman who will own him, despite all his inner and outer protests! Damian Di Santo is that man, he may be dangerous but I know there’s a heart underneath somewhere, he will protect what’s his. I shouldn’t love him with all that he did, but I couldn’t help myself!
Damian has been planning revenge for years since their first meeting when she was ten and poor innocent Cristina is about to face the full force of it and pay for the sins of her father as she turns eighteen. She has a hell of a lot of spirit though, she’s faced terrible loss in her young life, but can she survive the monsters in her path.
With suspense, secrets, twists and turns throughout and an intense chemistry between Damian and Cristina that is only going to grow, I couldn’t stop turning the pages. Oh that ending, it does end on an intriguing cliff-hanger and I cant wait to find out what happens in book 2!
An unexpected story of a couple who’s path crossed one tragic night. Years later Damian comes for Christina to make her pay for the sins of her father….something she knows nothing about. She holds her own though as Damian introduces her to a world she never knew existed. Even though Damian is dangerous and bigger than life, Christina shares some really good banter with him as they learn they may not be as different from eachother as either of them thinks.
I look forward to the conclusion as Christina is clearly learning that Damian was right….. real monsters don’t live in the dark.

” , ‘ . . , . .”
This book was yet another masterpiece by the one and only Natasha Knight.
Cristina Valentina was only ten when she met her monster, Damian Di Santo. Linked by a tragic accident that reshaped both their lives, now she is bound to pay for her father’s sins and he shall seek revenge in the name of his family.
But Damian is not the only monster she should fear, and he might be as well the only one keeping her safe.
“… ’ . ’ , ’ .”
I loved both Cristina and Damian. Cristina is a strong woman despite her young age, she is not stupid or naive. She knows she is in dangerous waters and in order to survive she needs to be smart and brave. As for Damian? SWOON. To say i loved his would be an understatement. He is cunning, lethal and ohh sooo dangerous. But the way he is with Cristina makes me giddy
This book was everything i loved and more. I seriously can’t wait for the conclusion!
Holy f-bomb!! What a read this is. Well done Natasha, you have me gripped.
Damien and Cristina, what a story theirs is so far.
Forced together through tragedy, but also for retribution.
Damien is her childhood monster, but is he the monster she thinks he is, so far he’s proving more so than not! But there seem to more than Damien who is willing to hurt her.
This revolves around a very darker and twisted world, one I think Cristina is about to be thrown into…deep!
A great twist in this one to keep us hanging for the conclusion, I can’t wait.
OH. MY. GOD.
I was unbelievably happy when i found out Natasha Knight was about to release a new dark duet; i didn’t even read the blurb i just added them on my TBR.
And well i was right: @natashaknight is a evil genius and i love her mind!!!
Unholy Union is the suspenseful dark story of Damian and Cristina.
The events of a tragic night linked their lives indissolubly.
That night left them both with deep scars (physically and emontionally).
“ℯ ℯ ℴℯℯ, ℯ . ℯ ℯℯ ℴ, ℯ, ℯ ℊ ℴ ℯ ℯ”.
Cristina is the innocent girl, who pays for the sins of her father.
Damian is the monster who seek revenge in his family’ name.
Their relationship is complex: they hate each other, or better, they should hate each other but they are so alike; they can read each other like an open book…..
And then there is that invisible bound that keep pushing them together.
” ℐ ℯ ℴℯ ℴℊℯℯ ℴ ℴℯ ℊℯ, ℊ ℴℯ”.
But Damien is not the only monster she should fear , and at the end he could be her only salvation…
They say the evil you know … don’t they??
I really like Cristina because despite her situation she is strong enough to face Damien, but also smart enough to choose her battles.
But Damian is the one i’m in love with!!
He is such a big contraddiction: tough, cruel but also tender, lonely, regretful, vulnerable.
He feels unwanted and his feelings broke my heart.
The romance is a slow burn and the tension between the two of them is unbearable.
The secrets and the enemies lurking in the dark, waiting for the right time to attack, keep you on the edge and glued to the pages of this amazing book.
This first instalment in the Unholy Union Duet has left me desperate for more! Just when I was starting to narrow down the possibilities of where this story could go Natasha Knight added a twist…. and I dread considering what may happen next.
What is it about a bad guy? I know I should dislike the dark and dangerous Damian Di Santo for his actions towards Cristina, but there is something about him that I find irresistible and maybe it is because we’ve seen glimpses that he has a heart! We’ve seen a few sides to this man during this first book and I have a feeling that we may see a few more as the story progresses.
At only eighteen years of age, Cristina’s whole world has been turned upside down and my heart hurts for her. I love the strength that she continuously shows and how she is willing to do what it takes to protect the family members that she loves. I also love her spirit and her defiance.
There is history between the pair which already had Damian harvesting feelings towards Cristina. You simply cannot deny the chemistry that is sizzling – just waiting to be ignited. He is drawn to her and her to him and I can’t see that changing anytime soon. There are some very steamy parts in this story and I look forward to seeing what happens next between them.
This story is all about revenge, betrayal, passion and possession and I enjoyed witnessing the secrets of both the Di Santo and Valentina families being unveiled throughout the book. This is a dark and riveting read that you will not be able to put down.
I would recommend for you to read the prologue to this duet, Unholy: The Beginning before starting the duet. It is a great way to whet your appetite for what is to come. Unholy Union is a must read and I award it 4.5 stars. I am desperate to see how the story concludes in the next book, Unholy Intent, which is due to be released September 15th. Thankfully I don’t have too long to wait!
I think every boy and girl at a young age is afraid of the dark?
Who is not afraid of the dark?
Who is not afraid of monsters under the bed?
What happens when the monsters are resurrected? What happens when one secret awakens the black soul and wants to trample the white soul?
Damien, are you the monster hiding under the bed? And Christina the little girl who grew up realizing that monsters also exist in life, and not just a monster, a human-like monster that deserves to make her life.
What happens when you realize you have no escape route and the man you thought was a monster is not the only one you should stay away from? Because there are monsters worse than him.
Natasha brings us an amazing story, every page and page leaves you in suspense.
The chemistry between the characters is amazing, powerful characters, characters that each fight the monster that resides in it.
And finally, God only Natasha can hold our breath and leave us with such an ending and wait for the next book.
Unholy Union is a deliciously dark and twisted story. It has action, mystery, intrigue, and unexpected twists and turns that keep you on your toes. It is intense and takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. The sexual tension between Cristina and Damon is palpable. The end has a shocking revelation and I need the next book, Unholy Intent now!
***ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.***
Unholy Union by Natasha Knight is book 1 in the Unholy Union duet. The book is very well written and the plot is original and captivating. It is dark and twisted, which is just not my cup of tea. But the writing and originality definitely deserve the 4 I’m giving it!
If you are not scared of the dark you will be! Debra @janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
I found this first in the duet to be very interesting and different. I actually really like Damian very much. He makes no bones about being a monster to Cristina just explains there are worse monsters then him to be afraid of. As they say better the devil you know.
Cristina doesn’t know for 8 years how her life has been affected by that night she met Damian and really even before that night. She doesn’t know how much her life will continue to change even after she does learn about the last 8 + years. She wants to hate Damian but she is also very attracted to him and her body just responds to him so quickly.
They say love and hate are two sides to the same coin and really for Cristina that may be true but she is coming to realize that Damian is exactly what she is going to need to fight those darker more scary monsters.
Damian is finding that Cristina actually is more to him then he may have originally planned and when you need to be strong against enemies you knew about and a couple you may not have expected having a weakness like feelings for her is something that just might be his end.
I love all the hidden secrets and characters that truly you don’t fully come to know, you get tidbits and have suspicions but being in the dark is where this first book keeps you most of the way through. The little bits of light you get still leave you with more questions.
I love it!
Jesus, this book is intense.
Channeling L.J. Shens’ Sparrow vibes, Unholy Union is an undeniable page-turner that will keep you riveted throughout.
The obvious cliffhanger notwithstanding, there are so many more secrets and twists left unanswered that now I find myself waiting with bated breath for the continuation of this story! September can’t get here fast enough.
5 stars and a thorn
Unholy Union is the first book in the new duet by author Natasha Knight. There is also a free novella prologue that is available entitled Unholy: The Beginning that provides a little extra background about this story and it’s characters.
I loved Damian from the moment he was introduced. I’m always a sucker for the dark, dangerous and dirty talking leading men. The more mysterious and the more sexy they are, the better I like them. Damian is all that, plus he has this tortured soul air about him that made me feel almost protective. For obvious reasons, Damian likes to be in control and is very possessive of Cristina. Under no circumstance will he allow anyone to touch what belongs to him.
Cristina is thrust into a situation she doesn’t understand nor want. Yet the more she fights against her attraction toward Damian, the more her body betrays her. The sexual tension between these characters is hot, and the more one pushes the more the other one pulls.
This story is filled with betrayal and secrets, and there are still a number of unanswered questions surrounding the past and the parts some of the secondary characters played and will play. It does end in a cliffhanger, however the conclusion Unholy Intent is scheduled to release in several weeks which is great since we don’t have to wait long to find out what happens next.
I was kindly provided an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A riveting and dark read that you will not be able to put down
Wow!! Once again Natasha leaves me waiting in anticipation and expectation of the next book in this series and knowing that even if the book was released tomorrow the fact that I have had to wait a minute, is jus far too long I simply could not put this down and read it in one sitting.
This story begins with a terrible night and a tragedy that would affect two families leaving the child of one an orphan and the family of the other bitter and twisted and seeking retribution by murder and eight years later further recompense of that night all those years ago and the men in Cristina’s father’s study.
Damian had never forgotten the little girl he had helped back into bed that night as his father was dishing out retribution for the death of his wife, daughter and terrible injury to his sons and himself, he is a bitter and twisted man that hates Cristina and Damian even though he is all that stood between his family and ruin. The twisted and bitter old man seems to have lived to see his son carry out the retribution agreed to over eight years ago on that dark stormy night.
The interaction between Damian and Cristina is slow and at times fairly heated he is trying to ensure that he gets everything he wants from the young woman he’s waited over eight years for, he has never doubted or questioned himself and yet with her this happens and he knows he has to guard himself from his fathers observation, always looking for an edge or a weakness he can use against Damian.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Tragedy struck Cristina at the age of nine. She lost her mom and brother in a terrible accident. One year later she finds unknown men in her home with her father and learns that not all monsters hide in the dark. That’s the night she met Damian Di Santos. Fast forward eight years later and Cristina’s 18th birthday she learns about her family’s secret. That she belongs to Damian Di Santos and he’s ready to collect.
I finished this book in one day. I wanted to know what was going to happen between Cristina and Damian. I liked that Cristina has a lot of fight in her and that she isn’t easily controlled. Damian was a little hot and cold for me. I didn’t know what to expect from him. I hoped that he would push the boundaries a lot more but I have a twisted mind so I can’t be too disappointed. I would recommend this book to others and I am definitely looking forward to the next book.
This author is a master when it comes to creating dark romances that weave together an intricate, page-turning story between captivating characters all wrapped up in a complex plot that is sure to keep you entertained until the very end.
Haunted by an incident that triggered a series of horrifying events and emotional distress, an unwilling connection is forged between the cold & arrogant Damian and the young & spirited Cristina. What follows is a tantalizing story fraught with a vendetta, a contract, intriguing family dynamics, and sexual tension. Damian is the type of anti-hero, a “monster”, who is sinfully delicious, dark, and commanding but also has a hint of a protective streak. I just know that there is more to him than meets the eye. While Cristina is only 18 years-old, she tries to hold her own as she is thrust into world that she wants not part of. One cannot help but admire her spunky and stubborn nature.
For lovers of dark romances, you won’t want to miss out on this spellbinding book with its enthralling characters and jaw dropping twists and turns. As this is book 1 in a duet, there is quite the cliffhanger that will leave you anxiously awaiting for the conclusion of Damian’s and Cristina’s story.
Unholy Union is part one of the new dark romance duet by Natasha Knight. Ms. Knight is a virtuoso when it comes to creating suspenseful dark romance with tortured anti-heroes and innocent yet spunky heroines. In this book we get the story of Damian and Cristina. Theirs is the story of revenge, loyalty and passion. I really liked Damian’s character. He hit all the right notes – dark, dominant, broody, damaged and so, so hot! But Cristina really stole the show. I really enjoy heroines who don’t take their lot in life laying down. Cristina fought Damian at every turn even though she was really no match for him. I enjoyed her spirit and her defiance. Here we have a heroine who isn’t going to be a good little captive. The romance is a quite slow burn though there’s a lot of tension and some naughty scenes. I find that the pace suited the story since we have an enemies to lovers setup. I have to mention that this book contains one of my least favorite plot lines in dark romance (and this is totally a “me” issue) – the Evil Daddy. Despite that, I really enjoyed the book and can’t wait for the second part which is coming soon!
Christina has lost things in life……..Damian has also lost things but never in Christina’s imagination did she think the loses were linked together until Damian comes for her on her 18th birthday. She’s drawn into something she had no clue about to pay a price for revenge. This story drew me in like a moth to a flame. I couldn’t put it down once I started reading it. The twists, the turns will lead you down the dark road to things that aren’t what they seem to be. I loved that Christina was feisty and stubborn and didn’t give up easily. And you can see while reading that they both have feelings about each other but are desperately fighting them. Damian has plans but he didn’t plan for falling for the woman he’s possessive about. Monsters are everywhere, can Damian get the revenge he needs and still keep Christina in his possession? And that ending…………WOW!!! Now I really, really am eager for the next book to find the answers. Ms. Knight has that knack for writing these dark mafia romances that capture your attention and this is no different!!
