CristinaMonsters don’t hide in the dark. When I met Damian Di Santo in a dark corridor of my family home I knew he was a monster. I was a scared girl.He was already a man. That was when his twisted countdown began.Marked by dead roses and sharp thorns, eight years passed each bringing me closer to becoming his. Until the eve of my eighteenth birthday. That was the night he returned to claim me. … eighteenth birthday.
That was the night he returned to claim me.

Circumstance put Cristina on my path.
Fate bound her to me.
Cristina and I share a common past. A single night that changed the course of our lives.
She asked me if I was a monster the night I met her.
I am.
She’s about to learn I’m her monster.
Because the countdown that began eight years ago has ended. Her time is up.
On the stroke of midnight, she’s mine.

After an epic prologue, I knew I was thoroughly going to enjoy this book. I wasn’t proved wrong!
It was everything I was expecting and more. Dark, raw and gritty with twists you won’t see coming, you’re in for a treat.
Eagerly awaiting the second part of a duet that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Review is short and sweet as this book needs to be experienced first hand.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.

This book is so amazing that I had it read in no time and I couldn’t put it down. Years ago there was an accident that destroyed two families and left Christina a orphan. However one family in that accident is set on payback or at least that is what I think they want. I don’t know that we really get the answer in this first book but what we do find out scares the snot out of me. Christina has lived the rest of her childhood with her Uncle and one every birthday she gets a set of dead black roses and a count down that changes as the years go by. Now is the time that Gabriel is coming to get her and she has not idea why or what is going on. This book will have you hooked from the beginning. This is a duet so you know not to expect a full story. This book ends with you probably gasping and another mystery added to the ones that your already trying to figure out. I can not wait to get the second book in my hand in September. Thank goodness this is not a long wait because I need to know now.
Natasha Knight – Unholy Union (Unholy Union Duet 1)
.
Cristina is strong and feisty. She was given to the Di Santo family on her 18th birthday, as payment for the lives lost many years ago. Although she was left in the dark about this debt, she fights back and holds her own. She constantly talks back, and resists any attempt at being an obedient prisoner. She is greatly impacted by the loss of her family and is made to suffer as retribution years later.
“When you run, I will come after you. I will always come after you. You belong to me now, Cristina. For better or for worse.”
Damian is a monster with a dark soul. He is tortured and unloved. Scared and indifferent. Suffers a great loss and feels he needs to uphold vengeance. He steps up to the family business but his position of power in the family hangs in the balance until he follows through with his fathers plans. Hes drawn to her and is intrigued by the woman shes become. In his own way, he is protective of the heroine, even if it’s for his own gain. Im fascinated by the mystery behind his siblings and the childhood trauma caused by psychological games played on him at the hands of his father. I am eager to find out more about his disattached family dynamic. His father is cruel and rules them with an iron fist. His siblings are pitted against each other and show no love lost between them. I dont think weve seen an iota of how peculiar and deranged they really are.
“I take care of my things, and you were always mine. Always.”
Their shared trauma is what ties them together, along with the small act of kindness shown many years ago. She can not resist the attraction however wrong she finds the situation. Their attraction is apparent between the two, no matter how much they fight it, but still too much hatred and uncertainty to grow closer together. It was a slow burn romance in the making.
“We’re connected, she and I. We were bound, handfasted, the night of the accident.”
Unholy Union consumed me from the first page! The plot was full of mystery that left me with more questions than answers. Conveying complex relationships and tension between characters. Could there be more behind her inheritance and who she is. There is still more danger around the corner but could he be the lesser of two evils. The cliffhanger at the end had me at the edge of my seat. I cant wait to find out what will happen next.
The finale of the Unholy deut will conclude with the release of Unholy Intent on September 15.

This is the 1st post of a new duet and what a wonderful beginning this is! Cristina loses her mom and brother in a tragic accident, which leaves her to be brought up by her uncle, and when she turns 18, she finds out that the life as she knows it is a complete lie. Damian is on a mission of revenge for his family, and Cristina finds herself as collateral and at his mercy. This is a well written dark and intense mafia romance story. This story is filled with complex characters, emotions, twists, suspense, and a love / hate relationship. I look forward to reading the 2nd past, and I recommend for all.
4.5 stars
Oh my. What do we have here? A dark, tragic read that’s what. This amazing book grabbed right from the beginning and has me begging for more.
Cristina is a pawn and Damien is her monster. She hates him on one hand and on the other she is intrigued by him. He shouldn’t but he wants her. There is a push and pull with these two so much that I found myself screaming at my kindle. Desperate to see where we are going next. Not only is this read dark but we have done mystery too. I can’t wait for all my questions to be answered. Ready for the next book!

Good Gods, that ending! I need more.
Eight years ago someting happened, something by the hands of Cristina’s father. And like a domino everyting fell into despair. It’s payback time, and Cristina’s the remuneration.
Cristina and Damian blew me away. I need to know more about him. I’d love to peel back the layers of his personality and also finding out why he is the way he is. I got a glimpse of a real him and I need more.
”When you run, I will come after you. I will always come after you. You belong to me now, Cristina. For better or for worse.”
Story with a perfect pace, dark relationship and oozing with chemistry.
I wouldn’t want to be in a circle with Natasha Knight at night telling ghost stories. LOL! She has a way of making things go bump in the night and making monsters come out and play.
This was a dark, edge of your seat, page-turner. Once I started I couldn’t put it down, the hairs on the back of my neck were standing on end. I loved that the heroine held her own, even though she was young, and she was in a tough situation. I can’t wait to see how this all unfolds.
Omg what an amazing read!! I couldn’t put this page turner down and am on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion!!
This book was dark and suspenseful. I loved everything about it! Damian Di Santos has something to prove to his monster of a father after a terrible tragedy ties Cristina Valentina and her family to the Di Santos mafia empire. At the tender age of 10, she loses her father and then the dead roses start coming every year counting down the years until she turns 18. She is unaware of the meaning of this sinister countdown. Damian takes her and locks her in his house the day she turns 18. He has a plan for her, a dark and unholy union will propel him to the top of his empire. This book ended on a terrifying cliffhanger that had my heart racing and me wanting book 2 immediately!
“What we have will always hurt. You should remember that.”
Damien & Cristina and the tangled & twisted story that is theirs… WOW! Full of darkness, secrets, revenge & obsession… this was a read that I could NOT put down. There are so many complex layers and details to Unholy Union… && I feel like we’ve only just scratched the surface of this story/their story. Natasha Knight has created yet another deliciously dark, twisted and unique book world… one that will hold you captive til the very last page & I cannot wait for part two of this duet.

4.5 Un-believable-Holy Stars
Nothing short of suspenseful moments, intrigue and an unwavering amount of ‘what’s going to happen next’ in this story by Natasha, which spins a dark and colourful story for Damian and CristinaA past so intertwined that it presents a future neither could’ve foreseen and a damning outcome
I’m eager to find out how this story concludes and thank Natasha for my advanced copy which I voluntarily leave my honest review
One word phenominal this mafia story is intense with so many twists it’s mindblowing on the edge of your seat. The characters and plot is written to perfection I was actually nervous at some points.
Damian is a man on a mission dirty, sexy with many layers to unravel and has met his match with his captive who is so defiant and strong willed I love her. Both haunted by a past they share I can’t wait for more. A Must Read.
One thing I have come to expect with Natasha Knight is something unique, dark and twisted on every level. With Unholy Union, she blows my mind with this story and the concept behind it. Cristina has such passion and fire in her even if she keeps it hidden sometimes. But with Damian, she bits back, especially due to the circumstances! Your mind says one thing, but your heart and body say another. It is layered in so many ways and leaves you guessing what will come. There are unexpected moments, there are passionate moments and there are moments that will have you swooning regardless of the reasons why this story is happening. There are intense moments that will have your jaw dropping and guessing what will come with a bang of an ending that will leave you begging for more!
As a whole, this book is dark, twisted and passionate at the same time. The push and pull between Cristina and Damian is fiery and beyond sizzling, even if she fights him. This is one of those books that you will be fully engulfed into because you cannot read it fast enough! The whole concept alone has been spun in such a unique way that you cannot help but want to love Damian! Bring on book two! I NEED MORE!
I Ain’t Gonna Hold On To These Monsters Anymore

What’s this book about? (I’m trying to give as little spoilers as possible)
It’s over for Christina. Damian is a monster. And he’s the type that doesn’t hide in the dark. Her time is up and he is coming to claim what’s his.
This must be my third Knight read. And I can say that I liked it the MOST. Very strong start. Relatable characters. A bad guy that you love to hate and hate to love. But. Still. Very. Relatable. The chemistry is intense. The mystery and intrigue is on POINT. The situation is extreme. Their back and forth banter is incredibly entertaining. Their steamy scenes were fuego… And I fear that more is coming in book two. Be prepared.
I recommend this to all the forced marriage lovers, family betrayal seekers and intense chemistry admirers. This couple goes deep mentally and physically. I really liked their first book and I know that book two will be EXPLOSIVE. What a cliffy!
ORIGINAL COMMENT:
This book had bite. Can’t wait for the sequel. Review coming soon.
Christina is the pawn in this story and Damian is the one pulling the strings. Even after I finshed this I felt like I had only touched the surface of the story and the complex characters inside. Damian is not someone I would want to meet in a dark alley. He has this air of menace that surrounds him and it was written so well at times you could feel it jump off the page. Christina is an innocent pawn in a game she knows nothing about. Some may have crumbled but not her, I loved all her little acts of defiance even when she knew she couldn’t win she didn’t give up. This is the story that keeps on giving, so many secrets and twists and turns. I can’t help feeling we have only scratched the surface of this story especially after that ending. I need part two ASAP.
Natasha Knight has a way with mafia, writing, tension, and heat filled stories. This one, this one is amazing. I loved every moment, could not wait to turn every page. I was so absorbed in the story I did not notice how fast I read it, LOL. It was over because I wanted it to be and dang if I now must wait with bated breath for book two.
This story is hot, hot, hot and Damian is the perfect anti-hero. I feel for him instantly. He is the man I both desperately want to mean in real life and the one that I would never survive. His love, Christina is another amazing character that had an amazing growth within the pages of this story. I loved that she was both is defiant and his love. She is naïve but not in a way that makes me cringe, she was truly a great character.
The plot is a “promised in marriage to the bad guy” trope but one written in a way you have never read before. I really loved this story and highly recommend it to all lovers of passion full stories on the slightly darker side. Perfection! 5 stars.
4. 25 stars– UNHOLY UNION is the first instalment in Natasha Knight’s contemporary, adult UNHOLY UNION dark, romance duet focusing on eighteen year old Christina Valentina, and Damian Di Santo.
NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be some triggers for more sensitive readers.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Damian and Christina) UNHOLY UNION focuses on repayment of a debt. Eight years earlier, Christina’s father sacrificed his life in an effort to protect his daughter but his sacrifice was for naught when a newly turned eighteen year old Christina would find herself the captive of Damian DiSanto, a captive meant to repay a debt. As Christina struggles to come to terms with the past and the present, she will quickly discover that it is her future that is in question, a future that is no longer under her control.
UNHOLY UNION is a dark and gritty story of betrayal and revenge that covers but a few days in the life. Christina lost everything eight years earlier, and in the ensuing time our heroine had no idea that her life was no longer under her control. Damian DiSanto bided his time waiting for secure payment for sins of the past but Damian knows that to protect what now belongs to him, he is going to have to take total control of the family empire, starting at the top.
UNHOLY UNION focuses on payment for a debt. Christina Valentina, oblivious to the criminal underworld that had taken control of her family and her life, finds herself a virtual prisoner whose only protection is the man who has staked a claim on her life. With the DiSanto family demanding vengeance Damian knows that it is only a matter of time before everything spirals out of control. The premise is haunting, dramatic and intense; the characters are desperate and brooding; the romance is negligible as the author continues to set the tone for the building relationship that is currently that of predator and prey.
The queen of dark romances and anti heroes and their strong women has written another incredible story!
True to her style she introduces us to the dark Damien Di Santo.
I man you would love to hate but just can’t.
The dark brooding sexy man is an enigma that had me wanting to see and know all his layers.
He has single handily raised his family back from the ashes.
And is determined to stay on top.
To fight and destroy all who want to topple him.
Even if it’s his own family.
Along with that comes the vengeance he seeks for those he lost.
Yeah I love this tall dark handsome man.
His confidence is sexy.
And his dirty mouth had me in goosebumps.
Cristina wow I can say so much about her.
I absolutely adored her.
She may be only eighteen and sheltered her whole life.
But that girl is brave, courageous and feisty as hell!
She gives as good as she gets.
But smart enough to know when to hold back.
The energy and current that flows between Damien and Cristina sizzles and pops of the pages!
Also the lust and tension is intense.
All the chemistry between them and that swirls around them is powerful, raw and gritty.
Along with all the hotness that fills the pages there is intrigue and suspense going on.
I was either on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding hard or fiercely fanning myself.
I loved the balance of secrets and danger with all the passion intertwined in the story.
The book is dark and delicious with twists and turns I expect from the very talented Ms. Knight.
That ending has me wanting the next book now!
But all good things come to those who wait.
So I’ll wait but may be not so patiently lol
Natasha Knight does it again. I can’t get enough of her dark mafia (ish) romance novels. Unfortunately this is a duet. I say unfortunately because I now have to wait to find out what the heck is going to happen. Not that it’s a humongous cliffie, but still, I need these two to stop messing around and just make me happy, because even though Christina and Damian think they mean nothing to each other, they mean everything to me, and I’m completely and utterly invested in their happy ever after. I really hope that Ms Knight gives me it. The book, written in dual POV, always my favourite, is full of suspense, drama and mystery. 18 year old Christina, paying for the sins of her father in the worst (or is it the best) possible way. I absolutely loved this revenge filled, sexy mafia (ish), perfectly written, addictive story. The conclusion cannot come soon enough. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
What did I just read? My heart is racing. Damian and Cristina’s story is dark and seductive. It is a story that drew me and I couldn’t stop until I reached the end. Cristina is a pawn and I admire her bravery. I am still on the fence with Damian. Both tied together from one event in the past that took someone they loved. This is psychological dark romance at it’s “A game”. I cannot wait for Unholy Intent.
“You don’t need to be afraid of the dark. Monsters don’t lurk there. They don’t hide under beds or inside closets. They’re right out in the open where you can see them as clear as day. Where you can look into their eyes and see their evil. Don’t you know that?” ~Damian
