Back then, I had it all.
Wicked fastball. Killer instinct. Cocky grin. Full package.
(And believe me, I knew how to score.)
My senior year, I was a first round draft pick with a two-million-dollar signing bonus. Before I could even legally buy myself a beer, I made my Major League debut.
Point is, I was invincible.
Until one day I wasn’t.
After tanking my career—during the World Series, no … tanking my career—during the World Series, no less—the last thing I want to do is return to my hometown, where every jerk in a ball cap has an opinion about what went wrong with my arm. So when my sister drags me back to town for her wedding, I vow to get in and out of there as quickly as possible.
Then I run into April Sawyer.
In high school we were just friends, but I’d always wanted her, and I’d never forgotten her—the red hair, the incredible smile, the crazy, reckless thing we did in the back of my truck the night we said goodbye. It’s been eighteen years, but one look at her and I feel like my old self again. I can still make her laugh, she can still take me down a notch, and when the chemistry between us explodes, it’s even hotter this time around—and I don’t want it to end.
But just when I think I’m ready to let go of the past and get back in the game, life throws me a curveball I never saw coming.

Tyler and April were a phenomenal couple! They had such wonderful chemistry.
This book was an awesome ending to the series! It was so well written and I felt April’s pain. I’ve been there so I understand. It was the most heartbreaking yet wonderful experience.
Melanie Harlow has hit a bases loaded home run with this book. She has definitely saved the best for last. I am at a loss for words as to how amazing this book is. Tyler was a professional baseball player who lost his way and had to retire. He returns to his home town for his sister’s wedding which is to be held at Cloverleigh Farms where he reunites with April, who he has not talked to for eighteen years. These two have a past, and it comes to the forefront of their lives. Tyler and April’s story is a beautifully written heart wrenching and emotional and will make you laugh and cry. It will gut you and bring you whole again. I love that all of the Sawyer sisters and their families make appearances in the book, and the support that they give to April is amazing. I am going to miss this family. This book totally lives up to its name and is “unforgettable” and will stick with you forever!! Maybe someday, Melanie will write a second-generation series which will give us more of this amazing family!!
This story gutted me. I loved Tyler and April and their sweet romance. It’s a story about second chances but also about forgiveness and letting go in order to move on. I couldn’t put this down because I felt for them all throughout and their chemistry was so explosive, you can’t deny that they belong together. What a great way to end the series.
***4 Stars***
After finding out more about April in Unbreakable, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on her book and see her get her HEA and I have to say that I really enjoyed her journey. It was full of heart and hope, even if it was a tinsy bit bittersweet as this is the final book of the series, but still a wonderful way to get lost for a couple of hours.
April, I adored. She’s strong, sweet and sassy and I loved watching as she worked through her feelings about choices she made in the past and doing what needed to be done so that she could begin to have the future she wanted. Tyler….I liked Tyler, I did, but I have to admit that I wanted to reach into my Kindle and throttle him quite a few times. I got why he felt the way he did about what happened with his baseball career, absolutely understood, but there were a few other things that had me growling a bit. Outside of that, when he wasn’t drowning in grumpy, he was a sweetheart and I liked seeing more of that side come through as the book progressed.
April and Tyler’s journey was definitely a unique one based on their shared history, but it made it quite enjoyable to watch as they reconnected. I loved their bantering and how well they flowed together. While they did help each other work through the various issues they were dealing with, I found ~ and liked ~ that April was, I hate to say the stronger of the two, but she was definitely more open and willing to see things in a positive light. The big roadblock wasn’t a surprise, but I was still all kinds of team April and I loved how she handled things with Tyler and in the end I can say, I was happy with how everything turned out for both of them.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this series and am a bit sad to say good-bye to the Cloverleigh Farm’s crew, but I definitely think that Unforgettable was a great way to say farewell. I loved getting to spend time with all of the Shaw’s and seeing how much closer they have all become as the series has progressed. There are a few issues that come up that some may be uncomfortable with, but I really liked how everything was handled in the end.

Unforgettable is an amazing read. You finally get April’s story. If you have been following along with each of the Sawyer sisters then you know April is the one that has held everything close to her chest. April is strong and resilient. Your heart will go out to her the more her story comes out. You will just love her so much more. Then there is Tyler. He returns home from a long absence for his sister. You can just feel everything he is going through roll right off of him as he struggles with the end of his career and being surrounded by all the old home town memories. Tyler and April have this shared past that neither have been able to forget. Coming home has a new meaning for Tyler when it comes to April. You will enjoy every moment of them together. You see both healing and changing for the better. The love between Tyler and April becomes a beautiful thing. Melanie Harlow made my heart so happy in Unforgettable. I’m so sad to see this series come to an end. I don’t want to give up the Sawyer family yet. This was such an amazing read that I couldn’t put down.
I really can’t believe that the Cloverleigh series has come to an end however, it ended on such an incredible high note. Unforgettable was absolutely fabulous, so amazing, sweet and heartfelt. Tyler and April’s second chance at romance story was brilliant, touching and entertaining. Not only was their connection and passion for each other undeniable, their story was an excellent blend of humor, romance, perfect chemistry, a little drama, emotional moments and sizzling, oh so steamy sexy times (I clinched my thighs a lot while reading those scenes). These two were on FIRE!!!
Melanie Harlow is the queen of creating memorable epilogues and this one certainly did not disappoint. Unforgettable more than exceeded my expectations and my heart and soul felt so good after reading it. This was a perfect ending to one of the best series I’ve ever read.
This beautiful, and heartfelt romance is the exact reason why I love to read! It has the perfect blend of heartbreak and humor, with a wonderfully flawed hero to swoon over, a resilient and strong heroine, loving family members who get all up in their business with love and support, and fiery passion both in and out of the bedroom! I just loved this story of second chances at life and love that Harlow does so well. April and Tyler were good friends back in high school. Tyler loved that April called him out on all his crap, and April enjoyed tutoring him and just hanging out. But life moves on after high school and mistakes were made. Now eighteen years later they are both trying to make up for their past and find a way to forgive themselves and move on. April has the help and support of her family but still needs to let all her secrets go to fully heal. Tyler has a tougher time because the world won’t let him forget his mistakes, which really broke my heart. When Tyler was forced out of hiding to come home for his sisters wedding, he and April reconnect. Their strong bond comes back easily, and stronger than ever along with the fiery chemistry they always shared and never forgot. They help each other feel safe and at peace, while helping each other face their demons. I was so in awe of the patience April had with Tyler as he tried to find his worth outside of playing baseball. She always saw that he was more than a sports star, and she helped him to believe it too. I love the direction Harlow took with this story. She did a fabulous job showing empathy for each character and their struggles. This story is a heartbreaking yet hopeful journey of love and healing. I loved how there were no easy answers, but Tyler and April worked through their emotions to realize what beauty life still has to offer. Harlow expertly and exquisitely portrayed life with all it’s complications, joy, heartbreak, and pleasure. I loved all the authentic emotions she made me feel and the epilogue was so absolutely perfect I didn’t want it to end!
Unforgettable is the fifth and final title in the Cloverleigh Farms series and features April Sawyer, the second eldest of the Sawyer siblings.
April and Tyler’s story is a bittersweet ending to this series. It’s an emotional, sexy and poignant story of coming to terms with the choices and decisions made in your past.
April is kind, caring, compassionate and has a reputation as the sensible sister. She’s hard working and driven, and puts her all into her role as wedding and event planner at Cloverleigh Farms.
Tyler is a broken hero, incredibly cocky, arrogant and surly. He’s the former hometown hero who made it into the major leagues, until his career crashed and burned.
The camaraderie, connection and chemistry between this pair is undeniable. They are both flawed and for me that only makes them all the more relatable and likeable.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed each title in this series, and thoroughly recommend reading the titles in order rather than choosing one at random, and look forward to seeing what Ms Harlow comes up with next.
Unforgettable is the fifth and final book in the Cloverleigh Farms series by the talented Melanie Harlow. It can be read as standalone but I highly recommend reading the series since each book is amazing. Five sisters. Five love stories. One big happily family.
Eighteen years. It has been eighteen years since Tyler left his hometown when he was drafted to MLB. It was his dream to be out on the mound in front of thousands in the stands. And for ten years he was the star of the show in San Diego. He had fans, money, woman, cars. Everything he wanted until three years ago when he lost it. He lost his pitching arm. Now, all he got was pitching advice from strangers, reporters on his ass for the “what happened” story, and fans booing him. And that was exactly why he likes living in a cabin on the mountain. Alone. He was a grumpy thirty-six year old has been in his eyes. And he was fine with that (not the has been part). That was until he had to go home for his sister’s wedding and he saw her…
April knew she would see Tyler over the weekend. She was planning the wedding after-all for his sister but when she does see him, it’s completely unexpected. She thought it would be really awkward after all these years. They were never a couple. Only good friends but there was something there. And eighteen years later, it was still. It wasn’t awkward, it was like they never spent a day apart. It was nice. He still made her laugh. She still gave him shit about his big ego. It still felt like it could be more…
I can’t really get into it too much without spoiling anything. I can say that I love April. I love Tyler. Their banter is so much fun and their connection is unreal. Their story is complicated and beautiful. It gave me all the feels of a wonderful story full of laughter, love, family, friendships, passion, and sexiness.
Quotes:
“But you were a gentleman, as far as I was concerned. And it’s not like I knew any better back then.” She started laughing. “I mean, after all, your nickname was ‘The Rifle.’”
“Because I pitched fast, dammit!”
“Your place or mine?” I asked.
“Mine,” he answered. “There’s a guy in the room next door to me who needs to be taken down a notch.”
“Come on, it’ll be fun. I’ll give you a massage and you can talk about your feelings. It will be like that scene in Pretty Woman.”
I LOVE this series and I love Melanie Harlow’s writing. Unforgettable was bittersweet because it is the final book in the Cloverleigh series, but April has always been my favorite of all the Sawyer sisters so I have been DYING for this book. It does not disappoint at all.
April and Tyler’s story is a beautiful, emotional second chance. They were friends in high school, but after that lost touch for 18 years. Now Tyler is back in town and they reconnect. The chemistry is back and the sparks are flying but there are some things from their past that need to be discussed.
I loved April and Tyler’s connection. Their history together. Their future together, though at times that was frustrating and I wanted to jump into the book and slap some sense into Tyler. They were both struggling with something major in their lives, yet they both found support and comfort in the other. The strength April had and her ability to find forgiveness and happiness in herself is something to admire. I can only imagine how she felt going through everything she did.
Unforgettable is just like the title, it is a beautiful, unforgettable, second chance romance that will bring out all the emotions. This one is a MUST READ and one of my TOP READS of 2020.
Tyler and April are like walking through a storm with no sense of doing so. Unforgettable puts it’s best foot forward when it exposes the vulnerabilities at it’s heart. To get to the rainbow, we have to face the storm. Harlow pushes emotions toward the fearless, through the flaws and despite the heartache. Captivating makes for an unpredictable experience. Unforgettable casts a spell not easily broken, yet hard to resist.
Thank you, Melanie Harlow for April and Tyler’s story!!! This book was super swoony and I loved every second of it. I’ve loved this series since book one!!! Melanie knows exactly how to hit you right in the feels, and bring you lovingly out the other side!!! She is one PHENOMENAL author!!!!
I don’t want to leave!
Oh my, this story was so sweet, hot, vulnerable, and fun.
These two battle their pasts, individual and together, but have hidden away. Behind work or behind high fences in the middle of the woods.
Cloverleigh is a beautiful world Melanie Harlow has created, and I will be sad to leave it with now having the last sister’s story.
Tyler and April are endearing, heartwarming and heartbreaking in how they rekindle their friendship, deal with the chemistry and the sparks, and the overwhelming past they never really coped with.
While the resolution to it all came a touch too easy and conveniently for my taste, I appreciated all the genuine conversation, and how they opened up so much. I’ll miss Cloverleigh.
The final book in the Cloverleigh Farms series before the next generation. Can be read as a complete standalone. I recommend reading the other books, but you don’t have too. Each book is about a different Sawyer sister. Sylvia, April, Meg, Chloe, and Frannie
Cloverleigh Farms is a magical place. A winery, wedding venue, resort, sleigh rides and so much more.
I am sad to say goodbye to this series, but am excited for the next-generation. I love small town romances.
April and Tyler were friends in high school. On his last night in town they slept together and only talked once after. He was off to live his dreams of being a pitcher in the MLB.
Now in his 30’s he is back in town for his sister’s wedding at Cloverleigh Farms. He reconnects with April and things quickly heat up.
Can they make it work this time? Read this book now to find out!!!!
I highly recommend this series. Filled with sweet moments, small town romances, different tropes, and lots of heat and laughs.
Style: friends to lovers, small town second chance romance
Story: 4/5
Enjoyment: 4/5
Sexual Level: steamy
Pacing: medium
Series: Book 5 but can read as a standalone
Cliffhanger: no
KU: Yes
I’m so sad to see this series come to an end but wow, did Melanie Harlow send it off with a bang!
I am so absolutely smitten with Tyler! Even with his current flaws, I’m enamored with this man. Underneath his stand-offish and ‘grumpy old man’ demeanor is an amazing man that doesn’t have enough faith in himself, and it’s understandable why he’d feel this way even though he’s wrong. His qualities far outweigh his flaws. He’s sweet, charming, sexy, accomplished, and irresistible. He’ll have you wrapped around his little finger in no time.
April was amazing. Finding out after all this time what she was struggling with really surprised me and made me adore her that much more. She’s so strong and resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to make herself the person she wants to be. She’s my new girl crush.
Guys, this book will shred you. There are so many feels, not just from one main character but from both. They’re both trying to figure out how to put the broken pieces of themselves back together. This book is a roller coaster of emotions and you’re going to both hate and love the ride. But I promise you, it’s worth every minute. Five stars for this amazing finish to the Cloverleigh series.
Such a bittersweet moment saying goodbye to Cloverleigh Farms. I loved each of these books for different reasons and Unforgettable was no different. Tyler and April had such an incredible story that made me laugh and even tear up at times. I wasn’t expecting to like this story as much as I did but I think I need to accept the fact that maybe sports romances are my thing!!
April Sawyer has always been the caretaker out of all the Sawyer sisters. She is used to taking care of everyone herself. Now at 36 she wants to start taking care of herself by letting go of her past so that she can move on and maybe find someone to spend her future with. Letting go starts with finding her son that she gave up for adoption 18 years earlier. With therapy and her family April is finally moving in the right direction to get the future she always wanted but when Tyler Shaw shows back up in town feelings from her past start coming back. Tyler wasn’t just the guy who was her first he was also her child’s father. Upon their first encounter April is shaken by all the old feelings resurfacing and the chemistry they once shared is even more intense now.
Tyler Shaw is done with baseball, the only thing he will ever be good at. Even after how long it has been since he left the game, he knows nothing will ever feel as good as baseball did, he will never love anything like he loved baseball. Now a recluse of sorts, living in the mountains in a cabin he dreads having to come home for his sister’s wedding but knows he would never let her down by not showing. His first day back in town he is confronted by the locals about what happened with the game and what is he going to do now? Tyler just wants to make it through the weekend and get back to his cabin. Life throws him a curveball when he sees April Sawyer on his first full day back in town and can’t believe the feelings that are stirring after all this time. As Tyler and April start to form a friendship he again he knows that he can’t but what she needs but for the weekend he can. For Tyler being back with April however brief is starting to feel like home and that is a feeling he hasn’t felt in years. He knows he isn’t any good to anyone, but he doesn’t know if he can say goodbye either.
April and Tyler’s relationship is a whirlwind of unresolved feelings, new feelings and love. As with each book in the Cloverleigh Farms series their story was so unique. Not only were they trying to see what could become of their relationship they were both dealing with their own past. Love is unexpected and I never could have a thought that a series like theirs would have worked but it did. While I am sad to say goodbye to this family I have grown to love, Harlow gave the people of Cloverleigh farms the ending they deserved with one heck of a HEA!!
4 stars!
Unforgettable is book #5 in Melanie Harlow’s Cloverleigh Farms Series. It is bittersweet coming to the end of the series. I adore everything from the setting, the family, the fantastic characters and their children and spouses. In this story we finally get April’s story and learn more about her painful past. This story is heartbreaking, beautiful and is an emotional, angsty second chance romance.
Tyler Shaw and April Sawyer have a past. They hooked up once in their teens but then go their separate ways. 18 years later they run into each other again as April is the wedding planner for the farm and Tyler’s sister Sadie is getting married there. Soon they reconnect and reminisce over the past and old wounds are being opened up and together and apart they are finally healing.
I equally loved Tyler and was frustrated by him. He is one stubborn man, and deserves so much more than he believed he did for the majority of the book. My heart broke for him and his inner struggles he was facing but I also swooned at his sweet and softer side towards April.
April and Tyler have a some bumps in the road but the beautiful ending was so worth it.
I adored Tyler’s sister Sadie. Her protectiveness over her brother and ability to give him a nudge in the right direction when needed was the best.
This was such a fantastic series!
When part of April Sawyer’s backstory was revealed in ‘Unbreakable,’ the book before this one in the series, it was really startling. That being said, please be assured that if you want to you can read this as a stand-alone. April and Tyler are good friends, and then after graduation they share one night together that has unanticipated results. Neither of them were looking to be 18-year-old parents. He was on the cusp of a career as a professional baseball player. They each had plans for the future that did not include settling down and raising a child. A decision is made to give her baby up for adoption, and they parted as friends. April is not bitter, but as the child’s 18th birthday approaches, she is increasingly anxious to know that giving him up with the right decision, and is deciding if she will reach out to try and meet him.
Tyler was a high school baseball legend in their hometown and went on to have a great career as a pro. Until it all falls apart in spectacular fashion, when he loses his touch right on the pitching mound during the World Series. After struggling fruitlessly to regain his pitching talent, he ended his career and starts to live like a recluse. But his little sister is going to be getting married at Cloverleigh Farms, where his former best friend April is the event planner. He is hugely stressed at the prospect of going back home as a failure. There are sparks between him and April, and Tyler starts to realize maybe coming home isn’t such a bad idea after all. He has issues to deal with, including learning how to cope with the way some people react to the crash of his career, and accepting the fact that baseball is no longer part of his life. He definitely has serious baggage with which to contend.
“Wherever you are is home to me. And I don’t want to leave home again.”
I loved this beautifully written book. Tyler struggles to figure out where he fits in a world where he isn’t a world class pitcher anymore. His and April’s evolution from friends to lovers to much more. His relationship with his sister. His relationship to baseball. And the whole issue of deciding whether or not he wants to meet the child that he and April created and gave up for adoption. April and Tyler’s love story was incredibly well-crafted and powerful on multiple levels. It has laughter and tears, friendship and love, sweetness and sadness, and enough passion to light up a baseball stadium on the darkest night. It explores how family can be defined in so many ways. This story was fantastic and as unforgettable as a perfect game.
Can’t say enough how much I love this book! Highly recommend! The characters and story will have you hooked and wanting more!
This is the second book I’ve read by Melanie Harlow and she has already become one of my favorite romance authors. Her plots and characters are so real and her conflicts make sense. No silly miscommunications here, they are legitimate issues between mature adults. Doesn’t mean those adults don’t have hang-ups (we all do) but the plot lines aren’t trivial. They’re relatable and complex and actually do feel like real life. I didn’t think I could love a romance book as much as I loved Unbreakable, but Unforgettable is just as good.
I’m a sucker for older characters in a romance story and these two, April and Tyler, are 36 years old. Tyler is a little stunted emotionally but April is mature enough for both of them. They shared a significant event in the past and haven’t been in contact since, but now eighteen years later they meet again. They have a lovely relationship, easing into it with surface then deeper connections, and as they enter into a physical relationship April continues to bring out the best in Tyler and make him feel whole and happy again. She helps him feel self-love instead of self-loathing, even if he has a tenuous hold on it. When their inevitable but completely logical conflict kicks in, Tyler slides back into his old habits and runs from the situation. Kudos to April for not crumbling immediately when he comes back and begs for forgiveness. She tells him he must prove himself. You don’t know how many romance stories I’ve needed to see that happen in, but never did. But in the end April and Tyler find an HEA on multiple levels that left me totally satisfied.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book. I absolutely adored it and know I will be reading it again. Sometimes I’m in the mood for light or comedic romance, but if I’m in the mood for realism I’ll look here first.
