Such a good book/plot/story line. Do yourself a faver a read it!
I really liked Pirog’s writing style. How often does an author keep you on the edge of your seat and have you laughing at the same time.
Really good book!
Excellent read – read it in two sittings! All four of the Thomas Prescott series books are excellent!!
This book seems like it was written by a 14-16 year old who’s full of fantasies & sees everyone but himself as some kind of sex object, a doofus, or both. He’s the only one with any degree of “cool”. All his self-talk was so tiresome. It took 8 chapters for anything to even happen in the book. The ending just went into a big, black hole of …
I enjoyed the main character’s voice as he found humor in nearly all his everyday activities. However, this is not a humorous story – rather grim and violent, actually. Nevertheless, a great read as long as you can stomach some blood and gore.
I was so annoyed by this character for the first half of the book, his snide and not so witty, jerk off responses. But on other hand, something kept compelling me to continue ignoring the obnoxious main character and keep reading. I was glad i did, i guess I either got used to him or the author cleverly evolved the story to point I could not stop …
I couldn’t get thru it. Very unlikable characters
A fast paced way to keep occupied and entertained for a few hours.
From the first page to last page you want to keep reading! I have told all my book reading friends to grab it and anything else by this author!
I enjoyed the characters. I didn’t enjoy the cursing. The story is good. Kept me glued to page.
The main character irritated me at first because of his sarcastic or flippant thoughts and remarks. However, when the gory murders started, it because a refreshing change. The end rushed to completion too fast though.
His first and best
Boring!!!
Junk. I found it juvenile and stupid. Author prefers 20 something humor as a tie in to detective/ murder case loaded with gratuitous gore. On top of this, the references to intelligent detective work and accurate medical facts are woefully missing. Very disappointed. Even for free.
Liked the characters. Hilarious!!
One of my favorite authors. Excellent story, well developed characters.
I quickly tired of the constant sarcasm of the main character.
What an incredible novel this is, even more so in light of the fact that it was the author’s first, written when he was only 22. Thomas Prescott is a sarcastic, egotistic, anti-social ex-Seattle Homicide detective now working as an FBI consultant…and he’s the hero of the book! Add a serial killer, remote areas of Maine, a drinking problem and a …
It became rather tiresome so I gave it up. Will go back and give it a go – sometimes it’s the reader not the author.
Good story. Not well written.
