Mallory Pierce has been hiding from life after losing her husband and son to a drunk driving accident. Friends tried to get Mallory to get back into the swing of things; but it isn’t until she meets Riot MC biker, Cal Robertson, when Mallory begins to live again. The chemistry between Mallory and Cal is explosive from the beginning. Soon after meeting Cal, Mallory’s home is burglarized. When Cal … Cal finds out about the home invasion, he insists on helping Mallory put the pieces back together. Even though Mallory is physically attracted to Cal, she knows she doesn’t fit in with his biker lifestyle.
Mallory’s relationship with Cal has a rough start, but the two of them cannot stay away from one another. After an attempt by a rival MC to abduct Mallory she finds herself practically living with Cal. There are many things she doesn’t understand about his lifestyle and his world, but she understands she’s quickly developing feelings for this over-protective alpha male.
Cal “Callous” Robertson has been a patched member of the Riot MC for the past nineteen years. He’s fascinated by the spunky brunette, Mallory Pierce, who is one of the only women to push his buttons. He thinks Mallory’s mother-in-law is behind the break-in at Mallory’s house, but at such an early point in their relationship Cal keeps that to himself. When a member of a rival MC shows interest in Mallory, Cal can no longer deny his attraction to her. Cal is determined to protect Mallory, and get to know her better along the way. The more he finds out, the more he wants her in his life. Permanently. When Mallory is abducted from Bike Week right under Cal’s nose, he finds he cannot live without this spitfire woman in his life, and he’ll do whatever he has to in order to get her back.

Mallory has a sad backstory. To not only loose you husband but also you young son is something no one should have to deal with. Then throw in a bad ass naughty talking alpha biker like Cal and this story just got interesting. Plus a mother-in-law you could do without, club trash and money loans to bad ppl is a five star in my book.
It took me a little while to get into this story and I think it was just because of the writing. I really did enjoy the writing once I got into it. The plot was good, I really enjoyed it, and the drama was real through this. By like halfway I was like damn what can this book throw at me next. It kept throwing. I really enjoyed the twists and turns in this novel. This was my first book by this author and I really enjoyed it.
I really loved this story and how the plot came out, but I also think that to actually like this novel and these types of stories you have to just accept that they have oldish traditions when it comes to the MCs and their women. But I really enjoyed the story, characters and plot!

An emotional and entertaining read. Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I laughed, cried and loved every minute of Mallory and Cal’s story. Can’t wait to read more by this author.
Cal is the SAA of the club. Mallory is a business analysis. When her life changes a year later friends encourage her to start livibg again. Cal and his brothers will stop at nothing to protect his woman from the trouble Mallory’s mother in law brings to her door
Mallory Pierce is a widow who lost her son and husband in a tragic accident. When she shows up for trivia night with friends she meets Cal Robertson. Cal exudes alpha male biker badass and decides he wants to explore things with Mallory. Mallory is not sure she wants to start again with someone and it quickly becomes evident there is a spark between Mallory and Cal but there is a glaring difference, they are polar opposites. Can Mallory take a chance at happiness and is Cal patient enough to see it through.
This was great, this reminded me a lot of Kristen Ashley books. Had a bit of angst but overall terrific read. Had a whole other plotline with Mallory that I did not delve into but it added another element to the story.
This was amazing book. It had romance to violence to action. It had so many twist and turns, some you expect but others that shock you.
I loved Cal, he is alpha, loyal and protective. He knows what he wants and goes for it.
I loved Mallory, she is sassy, loyal and funny. She never expects what will happen. And she is so loyal.
I loved this book. I can’t wait for more.
I gave this Book a rating of 5 ’s

That is until she meets Him. Very well written MC Romance that has some ups and downs that makes it a very good read. The characters were fun to get to know and I can’t wait for book 2 in this series.
After loosing her husband and son in an accident, his colleagues want her to go to a trivia night and start living, she didn’t want to go, until voice talks to her and she goes just to give him a piece of her mind.
When Cal saw Mallory there was something there and he wanted to see where it would go, she argues with him and no one ever does that, but for some reason he likes it.
Mallory fights Cal at every turn finally letting her know that he’s not her type, but Cal doesn’t give up that easily and after kissing her with a passion like she’s never known, he lets her know that she’s going to be his.
Cal sees that Mallory is overwhelmed by everything so he lets her know, that he was miserable the week he didn’t see her, when he saw another biker give her their number he wanted to beat them, but he need to know if she can let him in. Will Mallory let Cal past the fortress she has around her heart and let Cal in, or will she keep fighting him every step of the way.
Let’s start off by saying that this is a new author for us, and we loved our first read from them. The story did an amazing job starting off this new MC series, and we have to say that we absolutely are loving the characters she has created for ourselves.
Cal and Mallory characters made it easy to love them, we loved them as soon as we were introduced to them. I will say that the girl gang /slash old ladies definitely make you laugh at their antic each and every book but, most of all, their character are unique and oh so fun.
My favorite character would be Cal.I just loved him from the onset of the story. I found him to be brash, cocky, fun, possessive, had a dominated personalty and a take charge kind of guy who and doesn’t take no for an answer and is hot as he**.
I loved Mallory as well, we found her to be a firecracker that made us laugh. Not only that, but I loved that she had a backbone and had no trouble telling it like it is. Not only that, but I love that she had a fun and outgoing personality.
I loved the romance aspect between these two as they were total opposites but, fit together perfectly. I loved their banter back and forth with one another. Their conversations with one another made us smile constantly throughout the story.
Cal and Mallory’s chemistry was off the charts as they were totally hot in and out of bed but, they brought some serious heat when they were in bed together! “Steamy”
Overall, we loved this story from cover to cover. For us, it was a fun read kept us interested and engrossed in the story to the very end, and we have to say that the characters were a breath of fresh air with their unique personalities and just as unique nicknames as well as road names we loved it!
5 stars from us
Love this series. Callous or Cal is all alpha biker. Mallory or Mal has lost everything she loves. But even she can’t keep Cal out of her life. Can one trivia night at the local bar lead to forever?
3,5 stars
Karen Renee is a new writer to me but when I read the blurb of ‘Unforeseen riot’ I really wanted to read the book. Because MC stories are one of my favourite genres in romance books.
‘Unforeseen riot’ is the first book in the Riot MC series. So we not only get to meet Mallory Pierce and biker Cal Robertson in this story but we also meet Mallory’s friends and Cal’s MC brothers. But although we meet some bikers (and their girlfriends) and we learn more about their club, the story was more centred around the relationship between Mallory and Cal. But it didn’t bothered me but it did left me with questions about the club. The story is told from Mallory’s POV. For me personal, the story didn’t feel dark (some MC romance stories are), this one was more a ‘light’ MC story.
After finishing this book I was left with mixed feelings. So far I know ‘Unforeseen riot’ was the writer’s debut book and in a way you could tell. This story wasn’t perfect BUT I couldn’t stop reading it. The men were alpha men and the women had a lot of sass (something that I like in my books). But I must confess that there were moments that I wondered if Mallory didn’t show too much of an attitude against Cal. But she never crossed a line. Although Mallory described herself as shy, I didn’t really saw this side of her in the story. Cal was an very alpha man, in the beginning I found it hard to connect with him but during the story, he opened up and that made that I understood and liked him better.
The story was good and it left me curious enough to want to read the next book in this series.
When widowed Mallory tries to get out of a trivia night, a new voice in the background proceeds to goad her into coming out. When Mallory arrives with all intent to tear into someone, she realizes quickly that Cal isn’t someone she really wants to be around, well she does but the guilt she feels makes her feel like she shouldn’t. After a surprise ride on the back of his bike, Mallory just knows she needs to get away. But Cal will not let her distance herself, and starts to push his way into her life. Just when Cal starts to push, is when things in Mallory’s life start to get crazy. Can Cal keep Mallory safe from the trouble that she has somehow gotten in the middle of?
OK, soooo…. I am actually struggling on what to write. This was an ok read… I can even go as far as a good read. I didn’t like Cal at all, where he was supposed to be coming off as alpha, it made him come off more as a butthead leaning towards abusive controlling d-bag. I get that there was time, almost two years, between losing her child and husband, but a child is not an easy loss, and you would think that she would have actually talked about him, instead it was more about the loss of her husband and the guilt of moving on, which yes is natural but a child… IDK, I’m ranting now so I’ll drop it. The good about this story, is that I wanted to keep reading to see how it all panned out. It wasn’t tedious to read, rather enjoyable, but the characters and some questionable MC practices were a bit off to me, but of course not all MC’s behave the same way. I did want more details for some bits, but then at other times there was way too much detail; I don’t care what brand they wore, but for the first sexy time I had to go back and read cuz I didn’t think Cal came… he just grunted, so I’m assuming he did. Despite all my mad ranting and raving I gave this 4 stars, I think the author has promise so I will keep up with her to see how she does.
4*
Mallory has not been fully living after the death of her husband & son, his work team have tried to help & insisted on trivia nights.
Cal meets Mallory after demanding she attend the quiz not the best introduction. The sparks fly wow. Plenty of laughs & drama in this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a new author for me & I would definitely read more from her & recommend Reading this book.
Can’t wait to read more books from the Mc club book 2 is “ Inciting a Riot “ Vamps & Frankie’s story.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
This was a good introduction to a new series. I just didn’t much care for Mallory. One minute she was sassy and gave as good as she gets and then the next she was dumb as a box of rocks. She just annoyed me to no end.
Karen Renee is a new author to me and I have become instantly addicted to this new MC series.
She has brought us a well written, well paced, emotional and action packed story filled with humour, drama, danger and some seriously hot AF chemistry.
Mallory is barely surviving, she’s going through the motions after the tragic death of her husband and son the year before. When she meets Cal, the Sergeant-In-Arms for the Riot MC the chemistry between them is instant. Soon as he meets her, he is super protective of her.
I really enjoyed all the characters in this series. Cal’s brothers in the MC are intriguing and I am looking forward to reading their stories.
This is the first book in this series and I have to say that I loved it so much! I was so engrossed in this book I couldn’t put it down even if I wanted to because it was so good. Another MC must read!
Mallory is my girl, she is living her life day to day after losing her husband and son to a drunk driver. She and her husbands friends always went to Trivia night and they let her slip from going for a while then they started making her go because she needed to start living life again. It is on one of these Trivia nights she gets a call and decides she doesn’t want to go when she gets a call from one of the guys. When she says she is not going a guy grabs the phone and tells her to get her arse down to Trivia because they need her. She is so pissed off at this stranger she goes down there to give him a piece of her mind when she sees him. That is when she meets Cal, tall, dark and handsome but she keeps that to herself.
Once Cal lays eyes on her and her sassy mouth he knows he is done for. He wants her and he is willing to do anything to get her. But she is not from his lifestyle that being he is a sergeant at arms for his MC. At first Mallory gives him hell because she is not in the head space to date because she is still grieving her husband and son but there is something about Cal that calls to her on another level.
When something happens to Mallory Cal is there for her and he is determined to keep her safe from all harm and danger. But what happens when the danger is close to home? How do you deal with that?
An IT friend group has been trying to get Mallory to start living again after losing her husband and son to a drunk driver. It’s been long enough and she is trying to get out more. It is just hard. When an unknown voice breaks in the phone conversation he sparks her fiery side and she decides to show up just to tell him she doesn’t have to show up. So begins the awakening of the woman that has been dormant for so long.
Cal doesn’t trust women. He doesn’t do relationships but he’d sure like to do Mallory. He shows patience while pursuing the woman who has no idea about the MC lifestyle. When her home is vandalized he refuses to let her go it alone and becomes her roomy until he can get her security upgraded and figure out if there is more to the break-in. Besides, it is a good excuse to spend more time with her.
The MC brothers are great characters and I want to find out more about them. Their ladies are fun a group. I enjoyed all the characters. There is more than plenty of steam. The intrigue isn’t hard to figure out. As much as I enjoyed the book I would say it could have been tightened up a number of pages to improve and keep the action moving. I will be reading the rest of the series. If this is a new author as indicated she did a good job and has piqued my interest to read Vamp’s story
I’m really torn when it comes to this book. The overall idea of the story was really good, but I get that the story was forced. While I was reading some scenes would hook me but then after they were over I would get board with the story again. It wasn’t the type of story that hooked me. I liked Cal well enough but his alphaness was another thing that I felt was forced. Mal had a fire in her that I loved seeing and she had to be my favorite character. Some of the secondary characters came off as being too forced but they were funny. I do plan to read the next book because I’m intrigued when it comes to the other MC brothers of Cal. 3 stars #2OCCJD
