Cassidy I always believed in fairy tales. So much so that I made a career out of them. As a wedding planner, I made it my goal to perfect everyone else’s happily-ever-after. I even believed in finding mine once, too, until one man left me alone and pregnant –crushing my dreams, and leaving me jaded.Blake I was living every man’s dream; I had the career I’d always wanted, my soulmate in my corner, … soulmate in my corner, an adorable daughter, and a son on the way. Everything was perfect until it wasn’t. A series of unforeseen events tragically altered my path. In the blink of an eye, I was left a widower and a single father of two.
I wasn’t seeking love again, but she found me. Now I just needed to break down her walls and help her fall.
This book can be read as a standalone.

An easy enjoyably read . .
A nice story with great characters and laugh out loud situations and dialog balanced with poignant moments and everyday living.
I loved that this was a love story that had it’s difficult times but also uplifted you and made you want to keep reading. The characters were fantastic!
There’s a lot of bedroom action and not much true storyline. Which is frustrating. I don’t mind sex which it adds to the story, but this store is more about sex then not. Such a shame too cause, the premise of the story was interesting. There is a happy ending that is presented in a unique way.
Your heart went out to Blake and what happened to him and for Cassidy too. Great story with twists you didn’t expect. What I didn’t like was the UNNECESSARY use of the F -word. NOT EVERYONE talks like that!!!!!!
Just didn’t hold my attention.
I enjoyed reading about the romance blossoming between Cassidy and Blake. I love how there was real struggles and real love not love at first sight. I enjoyed when author brought memories of their past relationships to give you a better understanding. The supporting characters were a plus they definitely help move the book along.
The story was good but the language and references were not needed. I would not read another book from this author
I did like the book, but I wish more writers would quit making characters that are supposed to strong so indecisive and wishy- washy. Why are they constantly going back and forth about everything like a teenager, when they are in their thirties…but over all I did like the book, just found myself flipping to pages that were to long in describing things or thinking things
Very entertaining and child in story very cute and precocious enjoyable
Unforeseen by M.C. Decker is a single parent, contemporary, slow burn romance told in dual POV.
Cassidy is a wedding planner and single mom who believes in happily ever afters for everyone except for herself. Blake is a widowed single father and successful journalist. Blake meets Cassidy at his best friend Rich’s wedding rehearsal and is surprised to instantly feel sparks upon meeting her. After losing his wife to a tragic accident, he never imagined he could have feelings for another woman and he determines to get to know her better.
Cassidy feels the same attraction for Blake upon meeting him, but as he attempts to pursue her, she does her best to avoid him. Cassidy is reluctant to get involved with Blake due to trust issues, feeling that she’s not cut out for a relationship, and knowing that he is a widow. Blake is persistent, and due to living far away from each other, they eventually begin a long distance relationship. They encounter obstacles and twists along the way but manage to find their happy ending.
I enjoyed this story. I found both main characters to be likeable and relatable. Their children added cute moments of humor to the story. An enjoyable read about getting a second chance at love.
What happens when you mix one sassy, independent woman who’s given up on her own hea, with a man who thought he’d never find love again? You get Unforeseen, a lovely story of second chances. Cassidy Carpenter is a single mom who has been raising her daughter on her own since day one. Blake Mitchell is a widowed father of two, still dealing with the heartbreak of losing his wife. Neither one was looking for love, it wasn’t even on the radar for these two…you could even say it was unforeseen.
When Blake and Cass first meet at Rich and Brooke’s wedding rehearsal the attraction is immediate and unexpected. Although Blake has hopes of possibly pursuing something further with Cass, she shuts that down fast. Her past is still influencing her when it comes to men, and knowing Blake’s own tragic not-so-distant past, she believes that what she’s doing is for the best. But Blake is nothing if not persistent, and while he may accept her denial and excuses at first, he knows that what he feels is mutual and he won’t give up until Cass realizes what’s right in front of her.
What follows is a bumpy, compelling ride, as Cass and Blake navigate her uncertainty, the fact that he lives 500 miles away, and a few surprising twists along the way. You’ll be crying and swooning and laughing right along with them, as they work through all the obstacles thrown in their path.
At times heartbreaking, but with moments filled with pure joy and humor, Unforeseen is a romantic story that will have you believing in second chances.
