This is a sweet, romantic and entertaining story. Steve and Joy are rivals with a past. But after Joy’s world breaks down, Steve helps her try to find her inner strength. They soon go from enemies to lovers, while healing all the hurts they’ve faced. The small town setting is perfect for the romance and the theme. I enjoyed this story very much.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Joy Evens gave up her dreams of becoming a doctor after high school and married her boyfriend and becoming a mother. Now divorced, trying to raise her son and make a life of her own.
Being a single mother is tough enough but did the lord have to throw in the hot new neighbor who makes her heart sing. The neighbor isn’t a stranger, he just happens to be a high school crush of hers.
Steve Jorgensen moved in next door to a woman he has wanted for many years (since high school), one who he lost to another.
Now she is divorced can he finally get a second chance with the feisty little lady?
Reconnecting and rebuilding a friendship started as teenagers.
This is a sweet heart touching second chance romance, one that brings out a lot of feels and soul cleansing tears.
Anything can happen if you just believe.
It started really nice, but got sooooo boring, I finished just skipping parts to know what happened with the characters. Sorry, cannot recommend it
Unexpectedly In Love is a great read about Joy, her relationship with her ex-husband, and her new neighbor Steve (former high school friend). Joy has always been complacent when it comes to her ex-husband and in keeping her son close to him. When Steve arrives on the scene he challenges Joy to better herself and her life and in doing so they fall in love.

Such a sweet little novella. I liked Joy, her little boy Max and Steve. Their story is about second chances and finding love in unexpected places. Life is full of surprises and sometimes what you think you knew isn’t really the case. If you’re looking for a great story to get you the Christmas spirit you might want to give this one a try.
Great story about second chances. Joy and Steve we’re friend-enemies during high school but that relationship now as adults shows it’s true colors. It was an enjoyable wholesome Christmas story. It had some really funny moments with her son, dog and Christmas decorations.
The book is a good holiday romance read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. The story is an enjoyable sweet Christmas romance read.

I really enjoyed this book. The main character Joy could be a little frustrating but you keep rooting for her. Steve and Joy’s story of second chances is one that I usually am not a fan of, but they made it work and I felt that everything was happening naturally. As a child of divorced parents I really believed the struggle that Joy was going through internally over how to date with a child and deal with the ex-husband. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. It took me a day to finish it. Overall this is a great book that will leave you with a smile on your face!

I love a good second second chance romance, I love a good Christmas romance so put the two together and you have an awesome read which is what this story is! I love Joy and Steve and their rivalry, their chemistry and their romance, its sweet, funny and warm hearted and I just could not put this down!
This sweet, funny and charmingly real Christmas romance reminds me of a Hallmark movie. Steve, the annoying boy from Chemistry class has come back to town to still annoy Joy. But when her son Max goes off to Paris on vacation with her recently ex husband she could really use a friend.
If you’re looking for a great read with a sweet story, an inspiring heroine and and enough smiles to chase away the winter blahs, you don’t need to look any further than Unexpectedly in Love.
Grab your favorite sipping beverage, curl up in your reading nook, and delve into a fun romance. Not the typical story line. Not and Steve think they know each other, but with life’s bumps along the way, you’ll watch them grow and see things in a new perspective.
Sometimes what we think isn’t always the way it really is. Joy and Steve have a complicated relationship. They both have misconceived ideas about the other. Irritation and attraction turn to so much more. While a sweet romance this book also had a pretty deep story line that made me think. Great character development.

What a heartwarming story just in time for Christmas! I love the transition Joy makes from a woman scared to make waves, to a woman realizing her own potential and grasping onto it with both hands. Of course, a good man supporting her can’t hurt, either.
Jean Oram does what she always does… gives us characters to build our own relationships with, then takes us on a ride!
Joy and Steve have always been like oil and water. She gave up on her dreams and settled for what others wanted her to do and be. Joy felt he thought she wasn’t good enough the way she was. In reality, Steve always pushed her to follow her dreams and be true to herself. As the sparks fly between them, Joy finally realizes what Steve has been trying to get her to see. I loved the relationship between Joy and Max. Steve’s way with kids, along with a lot of other traits, definitely made him swoon-worthy. I urge you to read this book if you like well-written romances with an HEA.
A really great Christmas second chance romance. I really enjoyed Joy and Steve’s story. These two had a strange friendship in highschool which picks back up when he moves in next door. It all makes for a heartwarming interesting read.
