This was so much fun to read. He is just there for a family wedding. She crashes into him and the fun begins. From there it is just one thing after another until they end up on an island together. You would think he would be really upset about all of this but he things it is the most fun he has had in a long time. I enjoyed this so much and hated to see it end. You never knew what was going to happen nest. I received a review copy by book sprout and voluntarily review it.
This was a good book to read. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed with ease.

This romance has a bit of a twist!
Daniel was in Vegas for his cousins’ wedding when he got caught up in Gwen’s adventures. Not only does she borrow/steal his car but she ends up tasing him and then giving him “roofies” to keep him asleep while she takes off to one of her families boats to get to… well, let’s just say that a lot happens in a short amount of time and it will keep you on your toes until it’s all over.
It’s a quick read with a lot going on but well developed and easy to follow.

Daniel and Gwen really could not quit getting in trouble! From being complete strangers to getting married and running for their lives. Ending up on a deserted island looking for her father’s journals. What a fun and scary run!

Felt like you had to reduce the word-count and the novel became an assay. Shame. It had a somewhat slow start that continued in a little confusion before any kind of coherent purpose developed. It was refreshing to realise that there was a potential for having a different typical alpha male / fake engagement/ corporate scene but it was for some reason published prematurely. Witty in places but lacking in substance. It needs much more work. Well worth re-doing. Well done though to the editorial team.
Gwen meets Daniel by literally bumping into him. She’s being chased and threatened. Now Daniel’s life is in danger as well.

Despite the very serious nature of this book, I found it to be a very fun and comical read. Daniel finds himself getting involved with Gwen, if that’s her real name, and her situation. She is being chased by armed men, but is she an innocent woman or a criminal? She does appear quite adept at lifting items from others’ pockets, and apparently at kidnapping too. But these incidents are delivered in a lighthearted way, which not only endears the reader to her character, but Daniel too. So much so, that he even dons a torn and tattered wedding dress to assist her in her quest to help save the reputation of her father. He is apparently hopeless at being able to resist her charms, and totally commits himself to helping her. And the reader enjoys following along.

This was a fastpaced story filled with action and emotions. A lots of twist and turns. Loved the characters and the chemistry between them.

This was a super short read that took me all of a few hours. It was entertaining (far fetched for sure) but at least entertaining.
Written as a 3rd person, multi pov. Nice story concept, funny characters, overall nice way to spend a few hours. Way too short to become attached to the characters.
Would I recommend this story? Sure
Would I read more from this author? Yea

This short read was a completely over the top romance that was packed with a dark kind of humor that will either work for you or be a big turnoff. For the most part I liked the book, but I think it is really one of those reads that you have to check your sense of reality as soon as you start reading or you are going to have issues. After all, I feel that if most readers were 100% honest about what happens in this book and if it was Daniel was doing these things that are supposed to be funny to Gwen, he would not only be reviled but considered a criminal. If you get past that there is some good chemistry and the bare bones of the plot was fun. I just wish the humor not been so dark.
Fun fast moving RomCom
I have been reading and living Maren Smith’s books for years. Unexpectedly His is a totally different genre of book and she nailed it.
Daniel and Gwen are a fun couple with serious chemistry. Their first meet was unique as was their adventure. A great read for when you want to smile.
