“Expect the unexpected. That’s what they say, but it’s easier said than done.
How do you expect a change so huge it rocks you to your core?
How do you prepare yourself for an event that will alter your life forever?
One breath
One second
One minute
One hour
One day at a time, you learn to live with your unexpected reality.”
At first I thought the story line to be a bit moving too fast and maybe a tad confusing. But after certain events took place things were taken to a whole new level and I grew addicted to this incredibly beautiful story.
Ridge goes from single to baby daddy in a flash. The circumstances? Tragic and unforgiving.
Kendall has found her calling working as a nurse with children. What she didn’t expect was to run into Ridge Beckett and his newborn.
Somehow they are drawn towards one another like a moth to a flame.
The attraction is instant and the feelings mutual. Before they can seriously act on it they both have some internal struggles to overcome as are some family secrets thrown in their path.
A single dad alpha male and a sweet as sugar nurse that fit together as yin and yang will give us readers a highly emotional read that’ll tug on your heartstrings and even made me shed a few tears.
**Thank you for allowing me to read early Kaylee!!
This was a fantastic book and I could not put it down. I read it in 1 day. Ridge and Kendall were so sweet together yet the sexual tension was off the charts. I loved their story. It made me cry and laugh, had tons of chemistry and strong characters. All the side characters were great and I am hoping they get their own stories as well.
Such a great book. A great read for fans of New Adult Romance.
Definitely unexpected reality I did not guess and I usually can. Read it and see
WATERWORKS GALORE!!!
OMG…. EMOTIONAL OVERLOAD!!!
This was an amazing journey that ended in a perfect reality.
The characters just drew you in from beginning to end.
Highly recommended
Unexpected Reality was the first book in Kaylee’s Unexpected Arrivals series. I was on the fence about this book. It had a lot going on which made it feel forced. Overall, I did enjoy it; all 5 of the men (they each have their own book) are sexy and so sweet! Even though it didn’t completely wow me, it was still an angsty, sweet read.
** The book’s blurb doesn’t give anything away so if you want a complete surprise, don’t read the next two paragraphs**
Ridge was content with his life. He had a solid job, his friends were amazing, and he was enjoying living in the moment. Until the unexpected reality of becoming a single Dad turned his world upside down. Could he handle this new life on his own?
Kendall had recently moved back to her home town when she ran into Ridge. Would he allow her to help him out or would he turn her help away?
Ridge and Kendall were sweet together. Their chemistry was off the charts! And the plot twist…it was a doozy! Even though I didn’t absolutely love this book, I am still looking forward to read more about these sexy, sweet men!!
This is my favorite book by Kaylee Ryan. I fell in love with the characters as they fell in love with each other.
Beautiful Story
Melissa is adopted by a wonderful couple and loses them just before her college graduation so she traveling back to finish school. They left her everything. She decided she needs rest & a stiff drink. She meets Ridge & his co workers at the bar and he walk her back to the motel. She’s never had a one night stand, but she freaks when she wakes up & leaves. Ridge is a good guy a one night in the middle of a rain storm is sees a lady with a flat & he stops to help. But then he sees a car off the road, after rescue gets her to the hospital he finds out its his Melissa and she’s carrying his baby. Little Knox loses his mom on his birthday, she gets to see & hold him and they have a picture, but the rest is wonderful.
Loved this book. Wanted to hug daddy. surprising ending.
I loved this story especially since the young man despite the challenges stepped up to the plate in the face of adversity. It also demonstrates how we sometimes get in relationships just because they meet a need that the person you’re with isn’t the best choice. But this book also gives you hope that when the right person enters your life the relationship will be beautiful
I read both books in the series as fast as I could.
Easy read, entertaining.
What a wonderful book. I’m not normally one for first person and the f word usage but this book was really good and actually kept me reading and interested without skipping pages to the end. And that’s saying something, as most of the time a first person book flies out the door as soon as I see it. It is a beautiful story of one person’s journey in not only accepting responsibility for a newborn alone but a growth in character and emotionally and finding love in the process. It go to always reflect the inward man. Even a bad boy like Ridge can be tender and caring on the inside where most of us judge the book by it’s cover and expect it to be so. Kaylee has combined all the devastating and heartbreaking yet touching and emotional trials in life in this book. She paints a word picture of a man brought to his knees by one little infant and takes up the challenge to be the best father he can be and is rewarded in the end by finding his soul mate in the end. What ever you do Kaylee don’t stop writing cause you remind us all aren’t bad and love really does conquer all.
Beautiful, romantic, tragic.
This is the book that started an epically beautiful series.
Ridge Beckett and Kendall Dawson are two characters that I just loved, and the chemistry between them during their slow burn relationship is beautiful. But, I have to say that baby Knox just stole the show.
Kaylee Ryan has put together a beautiful book showcasing the best that family and friends have to offer when Ridge suddenly and tragically finds himself father to a small bundle. His mates are hilarious, and because I’ve re-read this book a number of times, I already know it’s a series. The crazy banter between them all lightened what otherwise could be a heavy book and a heavier situation for our single Dad. It’s everything that I love in romance, especially the single parent trope, and there’s nothing hotter than the scene where a shirtless tattooed Ridge is settling his son for a little skin-on-skin time!!
I highly recommend this 5 star book to everyone who loves a sexy single dad, and hottie mates who often work shirtless at a home construction site…
Enjoyed but simplex writing and a bit heavy handed on stereotypes
Wasn’t quite what I thought at first. But a good read
Love it
Faith in the unknown
Very cute. Felt rushed at some points.
One of the best books I’ve ever read. Read the whole book at one setting. Did not want it to end.
