I started reading this book just to get an idea of what it was about and couldn’t put it down! Before I knew it, I was halfway through the book. It started out making me laugh and immediately caught my attention because it’s one of those books that you end up reading really fast because you can’t wait to see what happens next. I loved the characters. Alex and Lexi just seemed to fit together well even with their unique beginning, and instead of making this book all about the negative, the author chose to follow their attraction. It made for a very entertaining read.

Loosing loved ones in war is tragic to the ones they left behind. Lexi knows this first hand. Things start getting interesting. I laughed so hard in places , some parts where sad , I loved all of it.

Unexpected Packages is the first book in the Unexpected series. It’s Well written, entertaining, hit you night in the feels, steamy, with a little humor mixed in there too. Lexi has been living the last five years living life on autopilot. Her friend Clare’s always trying to live a little. When Clare’s birthday gift to Lexi gets delivered to Alex by accident it gives Clare and Alex amusement but Lexi is mortified. Their relationship is a whirlwind one but Alex’s job maybe the undoing for their new relationship. Will Lexi allow the past to mess up her future? I cant wait to read the next book in this series.

What a great read by Stacy Eaton. I felt for Lexi Miller once I found out about the tragedy she had gone through in her life to make her not really live her life for 5 years. Alex Miller is a former military man who works for a small security firm who happens to live in Lexi’s building. (Her name is Alexandra Miller by the way). Due to a mix up on packages, Lexi and Alex meet for the first time and they are both attracted to each other. However the package sent to Lexi from her best friend is hilarious and Alex is quick to offer any assistance necessary. Lexi is embarrassed and now doesn’t want to face him. Very cute story with some laughter, lots of emotions, potential messy situations and passion. I cannot wait to read the nest story in this series and learn more about Alex’s teammates. Really enjoyed reading this book. There were a lot of funny moments, especially about the rabbit and the carrots. Lexi lost her brother and her first love in war overseas and she didn’t want anymore relationships like that. So Alex was a surprise, but being ex military is not what she wanted. There was some action, heat and surprises. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
They meet when he brings a package to her door that he has opened up by accident they both have the same name just about. They play cat and mouse game for a bit. It will keep you pulled into the book. It was a great read.
Such an enduring love story for a girl Alexandra, and her maybe boyfriend Alex, same name. The story starts off very funny. He was ex -miltary and she had recently lost a boyfriend and father in the war and wasn’t interested in military anything. Alex was finished with the military but he did work for a company that taught and trained people for going to work over in the danger spots. Things were getting hot between the two Alex and then girlfriend found out he was going overseas, back where the war was. Crap hit the fan and Alexandra broke up with him. Good storytelling!
The way these two meet is hilarious and absolutely embarrassing. The strength of the these two characters is amazing, and the chemistry between them draws them quickly together. Also living in the same apartment building helps. Lexi needs to learn to accept the way people are and understand who Alex is as a person, before rejecting him for having to go overseas. I found I did not like this aspect of Lexi’s character. She has the best of all possible men in front of her and she’s going to throw it all away because of his job. This story is heartbreaking in places, but right around the middle is when this story goes from hilarious and takes on a very serious tone. In the end, it actually changes writing style with this tone change. This is unexpected, because I’ve read a lot of Stacy Eaton’s stories and none ever ended with this serious of a climax.
uick, easy, fun, and steamy. Those are the words I would use to describe the first book in a new series by Stacy Eaton. I started reading on a cold winter day. I was looking for characters I could relate to, a story I could lose myself in, and something that I did not have to concentrate really hard on. Unexpected Packages is the perfect book for that. I read it in one sitting, enjoyed the story, and loved the romance.
I was left wondering about the secondary characters. I am happy to say that Stacy Eaton is going to continue this series with more about the other characters in the book. I am excited to learn more about these wonderful characters and learn about their lives.
Lexi is hating the fact her birthday is coming up when her best friends sends her a surprise package that starts a chain of events she didn’t expect. You see her neighbour received and opened her package by accident, and fate steps in to give these two strangers a push towards a happy ending they both deserve.
Loved it. A witty but emotional read!
I read this book voluntarily for an honest review.
What happens when two people named A. Miller meet for the first time? A lightning bolt of desire. Alexander Miller accidentally got Alexandra Miller’s package. Alex drops a wrongly delivered package at her door, and the book just takes off from there. You will love this book. Their attraction is immediate, sparking like fire, and you would think they had known each other their entire lives the way they just seem to “know“ each other. Excellent storyline. Extra excellent story writing. Incredible characters. Surprises all around. Drama that will break your heart but hang on for that happily ever after ending. It is wonderful. Great book.
Can a really embarrassing moment turn into meeting the love of your life? Will that love of your life live a life of danger that could repeat a history you don’t want to repeat? Lexi has big decisions to make. A thrilling ending
This book was such a fun read with good character and storyline development which made this book a very enjoyable and entertaining read!
Living life in the shadows after the death of both her brother and her boyfriend, Lexi copes by putting one foot in front of the other and blocking out the pain. Receiving a package of questionable contents is bad enough, but discovering that said package has already been opened by her neighbour bearing the same name, is beyond embarrassing. The story starts off on a hilarious note, bringing together two people who are meant for one another, but when threatened with loss all over again, Lexi backs away from emotional involvement. This novel is well written and fairly spicy in parts. Alex is a charming hero whose sense of humour draws Lexi in, and despite his past, he longs for the chance to prove to Lexi that they belong together. Lexi’s fear of loss and abandonment is very real, and must surely be experienced by many military wives. I enjoyed this novel, laughing out loud in parts and feeling the pain as the tension built. Although part of a series this book is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion.
This is my first read of this author and I really enjoyed it. First, it seemed like a comedy, full of giggles. Then it looked like Lexi was getting into problems with romantic complications with her boss. I loved it when Alex’s daughter Nica came on the scene so grown up! But when it turned into a thriller, I had to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to get to the happy ending. Recommended.
So good. What are the odds of Alexander Miller and Alexandra Miller live in the same building? I really enjoyed this well written humorous and interesting book. The characters were well thought out and went together so well. The storyline pulled you in and kept you wanting more. I received it as a gift and this is a voluntary review. I recommend this author to all her stories are well worth the read.
Alex Miller meet Alex Miller.
Alex Miller opens a naughty package for Alex aka Lexi. Her friend sent her a birthday present to be used in the bedroom.
That’s how the meet…
A quick read.
Lexi and Alex are neighbors who meet because of a missed delivered package. They are attracted to each other and while Alex wants to pursue it Lexi is somewhat hesitant.
When they decide to go for their relationship all are excited until Alex has to go overseas for his job.
The story flows well and Lexi and Alex are well developed characters.
An good story and start to a new series
I unexpectedly loved “Unexpected Packages” by Stacy Eaton. This is the first book I’ve read by this author having received a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. I tend to be a picky reader. I don’t like books that seem to be another recycled version of a popular storyline. This book grabbed me with the meet-cute right in the beginning and took me on an emotional rollercoaster until the very end. I laughed, I stayed up late because I didn’t want to put it down and of course I cried ugly snot tears at certain parts. Everything I love in a book. This is a great book to add to your collection – well worth it. Personally, I can’t wait to see what is next for this series.
Happy Reading…enjoy!
Stacy Eaton’s book, Unexpected Packages, was a quirky and fun book to read. This book had a great opening and drew me right in. The characters were warm, honest, and relatable. It was a funny yet suspenseful book that I thoroughly enjoyed!
