I never liked her kind before. Rank climbing bastards. Liars. Cowards. The second I see her walk into the captain’s meeting, I want to dislike her but I can’t. I’m captivated by her smooth curves, long thick hair and her confidence. I want to taste her sweetness. She’s got guts, smarts and I want her to come willingly to my bed. Except, she doesn’t respond to my charm. The female is nothing like I … to my charm. The female is nothing like I expect.
She’s also taken unnecessary risks.
My mission is on the line. I have people to save and a team to protect.
When I get my hands on her, she better be prepared for what a night in my bed entails… and she better promise never to leave the ship without me again.
Note to readers: This is the second book in the series. It is highly encouraged you read book 1 to understand the dynamics of the core team. This is a Steamy Sci-Fi Romance with a strong and obsessive male with an equally strong and confident female. You’ve been warned.

Interesting, well rounded characters casually placed in a well lived in, unpretentious ‘verse. Layla Stone writes a tight, exciting tale of finding love when and where you least expect it.

I received an arc copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
The author has created a wonderful world with well rounded characters. The plot is exciting to read and has drama, intrigue, humour and heat! The characters have great chemistry between them, and their conversations are realistic. The alpha male may have found his mate, but she isn’t going to drop to her knees and give in without some convincing and a fight! I need to read book 1 to get caught up. But what I can tell you about this one is that I would definitely read book 1 and then this one. It is exciting, dramatic, surprising, emotional and so much more. It is definitely worth reading. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.

Entertaining and unique story
Vivra and Pax’s story read like a few continuous episodes of ships logs on the Enterprise to me! It has an entertaining and unique plot with an underlying romance between two strong characters who put their jobs first.
The second book in the Unexpected series and the series is just getting better. I want to read the next book when it is out. The pages flow smoothly one to the other the storyline has suspense, drama, danger, fake Federation, betrayal, different types of peoples, and romance. Pax and Vivra’s story kept me turning pages. This book is unique, well developed. well written, and unexpected.
Unexpected Demon is the second book in the series and while following a different couple, the world is still the same is and might be better enjoyed by reading book one first. The characters have undeniable chemistry and the plot-line was easy to follow.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a honest, unbiased review.
I really enjoyed reading this amazing Sci-Fi romance. The story-line is well-thought out and written with an intriguing plot, which certainly kept my attention. The characters are unique & well-developed with a variety of traits and different sides to their individual personalities with attributes of determination and/or recklessness.
There is: various kind of alien species, cyborgs, terrans (humans), twists & turns, intrigue, action, secrets, danger, enemies, manipulations, devious plans, verbal banter, physical conflict, betrayal, deceit, fantasies, contentment, love, some steam & a excellent, satisfying ending,
I would recommend this Sci-fi romance to people who enjoy reading this genre.
I thought this was a good sci-fi romance. It is the second book in the series and you could probably skate by without reading book one, I recommend that you don’t. Reading that book will really help you understand a lot about these characters and their world. As for this book it was steamy and dramatic. I felt the hero and heroine were a good match. Even with him being all hot, alpha male, she was able to stand toe-to-toe with him, which was a nice change of pace from the usual. Great chemistry, clever banter, sizzling heat, action and excitement are blended together into a book that will capture and hold your attention.
Wow.
I loved this book.
I will be watching, like a hawk, for the next book in the series to come out.
It was detailed that it felt like I was right in the middle of all the action.
I am amazed.
Also, I now have a new author to add to my list of favorites.
Happy reading!

This story was a case of too much all at once, too many characters, too many species descriptions and too much internal dialogue. It seems the characters lived in their heads a lot and that’s where a good deal of the story takes place too.
For me the characters all felt wooden and I had a hard time connecting with any of them. There were attempts to interject humor or starts of trying to create a type of camaraderie within the crew that for me never left the ground. All of the parts were there for the makings of a great crew and story for me however something was missing for me to care about them like I had with other stories I have read. I’m sure there are others that would disagree, for me however this story just never really gelled.
