Rannn lives by a strict honor code.
He’s the captain of the Garna star carrier and he’s responsible for every person on his ship. He has a responsibility to catch a mass murder. He doesn’t have time to give into his desires for a woman with a questionable past.
There’s never been a more arrogant and stubborn Yunkin. Captain Rannn is the worst. Nue hates him. As soon as she helps the crew find … soon as she helps the crew find the mass murderer she’s gone. For good.

He is her Unexpected Captain and she is his unexpected mate
Unexpected Captain is the sixth and final book in the Unexpected Series by Layla Stone. This is the story of Captain Rannn and Nue. They end up as unexpected roommates and then even more unexpected move from enemies to lovers and mates. This story also ends the entire series in a nice and satisfying way.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Such a strong story, page turning and exciting till the very end. Loved the characters with plenty of action, adventure, and love. Rannn doesn’t trust Nue and has her imprisoned in his cabin. Nue hates him because he assumes she is like her sister and will kill with lack in judgement or care. But something happens that tells Rannn that he misjudged Nue and she is innocent. I love the conclusion but hate to see the series end. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a great conclusion to the series. This is an action packed enemies to lovers romance. The story has great warm and fuzzy feeling and a fantastic epilogue

Unexpected Captain by Layla Stone was an Absolute Joy to Read.
I experienced deep chuckles, and warm feelings, while reading this story.
It was a pleasant escape that I didn’t want to end.

Rannn has Nue imprisoned in his cabin. He doesn’t trust her and keeps her close so that he can thwart any plans she makes. Nue hates him because he just assumes she is just like her sister and will kill indiscriminately. But when Chollar tells him what he has found, Rannn knows that Nue is innocent.
Before they can resolve their personal connection, though, there’s an attack that affects both the ship and all Yunkins, and he knows their time will be short. It’s sad to see this series wind up, and I hope its replacement will be equally exciting!
Rannn is hunting a mass murderer but is finding himself distracted by Nue.
Captain Rannn is trying to find a mass murderer who keeps alluding them but he also has Nue a female who had been accused of murder but has proved it was no her who committed the crime. He now finds himself distracted by her and thinking about when he should be doing his job. When he hear that a planet has become infertile and not had any births for a year he heads ther. He and Nue seem to be coming to a point of agreement when they are both struck but darts the inject them then the crew start coming down with a mystery illness.

I enjoyed this book and thought it delivered a very satisfying conclusion to this series. I thought the chemistry was great between these characters and plenty of sparks were flying with every single interaction they shared. The story was engaging and kept me entertained. Sad to see the end of this series but excited for what’s next. This is my frank, freely posted review.
Wow, this book was a enemies to lovers book. So much going on action packed and a great end to this series. I have read 2 others in this series and you get to see a lot of the previous characters. Also there is another series of hers that I have read and there is mention of some of those characters and you even see two of them for a minute at the end. Great book but I suggest you read previous books to get the whole experience. Loved the HEA and Epilogue and can’t wait for the new side series that this one is going to.
