What an interesting story! Well written mystery with amazing characters.
X was surprised at how prevalent psychic readings and seances were during that era. Interesting read, and interesting that this was from a series where I could follow the heroine
A wonderful glimpse into the world of paranormal and history combined. I LOVED the quotes from actual newspapers before each chapter. It was delightful to have a twist on the typical Victorian historical fiction!
A female detective in the second half of the nineteenth century San Francisco was certainly rare. Locke’s stories are unique and show what life was like at that time. Nice touch if romance. An Upstairs Downstairs glimpse of life in America.
I’m not particularly interested in astrology and the like, nor are mysteries on the top of my list for reading. But I did enjoy this one. I think you might too.
I liked the continuity with the rest of the series!
