I should have known better. The quiet girl doesn’t get the hot, popular guy. Because my life isn’t a high school rom com.But I’ve had a crush on my best friend’s brother Will since we were teenagers. Will hadn’t noticed me then. Now, when I finally caught his eye, all hell broke loose. He rocked my world. He stole my heart. And tossed it away, unwanted.Undesired.Until I ended it.I should’ve stayed … unwanted.
Undesired.
Until I ended it.
I should’ve stayed away from my sister’s best friend.
What kind of man screwed around with the girl next door?
The kind who found her innocence sexy, her sassy mouth alluring.
What kind of man kept coming back when she told him not to?
The kind who couldn’t get enough of her throaty laugh and sensual cries.
What kind of man didn’t walk away when he wasn’t what she needed?
The worst kind.
I’m that man.
Too selfish to let her go.
And just desperate enough to do anything to get her to stay.

I have to say this is book 5 out of this series and one of my favorites. I am rating it a 4 instead of a 5 due to clerical issues or putting the wrong name to where someone else should be. I love how the characters from previous books keep coming back so the series is very cohesive. Will doesn’t believe in love and he feels he never will. Hope believe in love and has been in love with Will since high school. He has finally noticed her a little bit but only for a Friday night booty call. When she puts a stop to it and tries to move on, will Will move on as well or has Hope finally proved she is worth loving. This is another good written story with very enjoyable characters.
Hope has always had a thing for her best friend’s brother Will but she knew she didn’t stand a chance until that night that she caught his eye. He took her innocence and threw her aside. Now he’s back but is it too late because Hope has given up on the man. Can Will regain what he so carelessly threw away? I voluntarily agreed to receive an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Another in the Hometown Hero’s series. This one finds playboy Will finally losing his heart to Hope. Their story is hot and steamy but also sweet. Tulip is a town filled with characters and it is always fun to see how they are all getting along.
Another winner from Piper Sullivan. Hope has loved Will since high school, now she just has to get him onboard. Will has always been all about temporary pleasure. He is one of the hometown heroes and doesn’t lack female company. Hope is about to change his mind. This is another fun, sexy and flirty story in the series. You will get a kick out of the antics and laugh out loud.
Like the old rock song says “don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone” , that’s what happens when Hope decides to move on from her long time crush and Friday night hookups with Will and he realizes what he’s lost. It’s a well written book with strong characters and an entertaining story line. the author does a great job developing the story and building their relationship from friend’s to lovers and more. She brings drama, humor and tons of emotions and throws in a few obstacles on their way to their HEA. I loved and highly recommend this book.

And Tulip, Texas continues…
Hope is best friend’s with Audrey. Hope has always had a crush and so many more feelings towards Will, Audrey’s brother, but he never saw her. During the Spring Fling something changed and Will started to see Hope, but he still didn’t see her. When Hope realizes that she wants more, she tries and tries to get that. Will she be successful in getting more from Will or will she move on?
Will grew up in the foster care system and has accepted that Audrey is his sister regardless of blood relation. He trusts her and loves her, but with Hope it is different. She makes his feelings come to light, but at what cost to him? Will he recognize the true extent of his feelings for Hope before its too late?
Tulip just keeps getting better and better with the matchmaking and the Hometown Heroes. I can’t wait to read more and more. I received an ARC of this book from the author.
I thought that this book was OK. As a fan of forbidden tropes, I was enthused by the best friend’s brother angle. I liked the bare bones of this story but I was not a fan of either of the lead characters. I really wish that Hope had not been such a doormat when it came to loving Will. Other than that, I think that I would have really liked this character. I’m a firm believer that real love shouldn’t make you value yourself less, so this was a big turn off for me. As for Will, I didn’t feel that he was truly a bad guy but I did feel that his selfishness and blindness made him a pretty big jerk. Eventually, they both get their wake-up calls and show some emotional growth. In the end though, I still felt that Hope deserved better and more importantly, that she should have felt that way about herself and this relationship right from the start.
This book was really interesting. I thought it would be a light hearted read, and it honestly was light. It just made me think of other things. As I was reading it, I thought it would be so easy to just think negative thoughts about both Hope and Will, but that would have been too easy.
Hope gave in to Will at almost every turn, even knowing that she shouldn’t. She knew she was being taken for granted. On some level, Will knew he was taking Hope for granted, but justified it by telling himself he was honest with her about what he wanted.
The thing I found interesting is following them as they started to evolve as both individuals and ultimately as a couple. Hope found herself in a sense, while backing away from Will, but clarified what she wanted from a relationship, a career, what she wanted for her life. Hope in essence knocked Will to his knees.
Will was not the stereotypical bad guy you would originally think. I do believe that were it not for Hope backing away like she did, that it would be a really long time before any self reflection occurred. He didn’t think he was doing anything wrong. That was the problem. He didn’t think. He just performed, did what he wanted, and moved on. There was a fair amount of arrogance in his behavior.
I was glad Hope finally found herself and Will some up to start this king about his behavior. I still think while Hope was backing away that she was giving Will too much. At the end of the day, there were romantic moments, sexy moments, thoughtful moments, and the moment of HEA.
