Jane Delaney does things her paying customers can’t do, don’t want to do, don’t want to be seen doing, can’t bring themselves to do, and/or don’t want it to be known they’d paid someone to do. To dead people.Life gets complicated for Jane and her Death Diva business when she’s hired to liberate a gaudy mermaid brooch from the corpse during a wake—on behalf of the rightful owner, supposedly. Well, … supposedly. Well, a girl’s got to make a living, and this assignment pays better than scattering ashes, placing flowers on graves, or bawling her eyes out as a hired mourner. Unfortunately for Jane, someone else is just as eager to get his hands on that brooch, and he’s even sneakier than she is, not to mention dangerously sexy.
Just when she thinks her biggest problem is grand theft mermaid, things take a murderous turn. But hey, when you’ve teamed up with a neurotic seven-pound poodle named Sexy Beast, how can you go wrong?

I liked every second of this book.
Loved this book! An easy, interesting read!
A good book for a diversion when you want your mind occupied with light pre occupation
Loved this book. It was the first I have read by Pamela Burford and I am hooked. Jane Delaney is the Death Diva. She is a quirky and entertaining woman. This story kept me interested from cover to cover. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.
I like how the main character talked to the reader. A very unusual plot.
I’m not easy to please, but this is one of my favorite series of cozy mysteries. The main character is totally delightful and these stories sail along. Before you know it, it’s dinner time and you haven’t defrosted or done anything. You can’t wait for the next one. So many of these follow the same plots…not these, each one is unique. These are just outrageous enough to hold your interest and to be hilarious. I found myself totally bonded with the main character. The peripheral characters are funny, interesting and entertaining too. You won’t regret getting into these and will be on Amazon at 3 in the morning if you happen to finish at that time trying to order the sequels…. the only bad part about these books is when you’ve reached the end of the last book, so far, in the series. Pamela, write faster.
A good mystery with good humor, funny characters, which makes for a good read
A good read.
Loved the characters. This book is definitely an original…very entertaining.
Fun book , good twists, a little ridiculous at the end.
Not Stepanie Plum, but a pleasant read
Very good story that kept me reading. Some sexual innuendos that didn’t add anything to the story.
I enjoyed reading this funny and entertaining book
Loved it. Who would ever think someone would do the thing she did for a living.
Really enjoyed.
great characters…loved this book!!
Kept me interested. Many plot twists. A fun, easy read!
Panda Burford is a hoot. Her writing keeps me laughing and guessing right to the end who the bad guy is.
Well written and enjoyable so I read the next in the series.
Very enjoyable. You enter different worlds many you have never known.
