Jane Delaney does things her paying customers can’t do, don’t want to do, don’t want to be seen doing, can’t bring themselves to do, and/or don’t want it to be known they’d paid someone to do. To dead people.Life gets complicated for Jane and her Death Diva business when she’s hired to liberate a gaudy mermaid brooch from the corpse during a wake—on behalf of the rightful owner, supposedly. Well, … supposedly. Well, a girl’s got to make a living, and this assignment pays better than scattering ashes, placing flowers on graves, or bawling her eyes out as a hired mourner. Unfortunately for Jane, someone else is just as eager to get his hands on that brooch, and he’s even sneakier than she is, not to mention dangerously sexy.
Just when she thinks her biggest problem is grand theft mermaid, things take a murderous turn. But hey, when you’ve teamed up with a neurotic seven-pound poodle named Sexy Beast, how can you go wrong?

Was supposed to be funny entertaining. But boring!
Fun read – very enjoyable.
I enjoyed reading it, however, figured out who the killer was early in the beginning of the story. Guess I just read too many mysteries….pretty hard to fool me, but enjoyable read, non the less.
It was a good book to read
A good mystery. I was annoyed by some of the repetitive “angst” of the main character.
I loved it, it’s definitely a most original story, involves the main character job that she does, won’t give away the plot, but if you like to laugh and love reading mystery books, this is one you whouldn’t miss.
This was a fun romp through a mystery with a couple of different twists! I did not ferret out the final twist until it was uncovered n the final few pages.
What an original character. Stephanie Plum fans will get a kick out of this series about a woman with an unconventional Job!
The plot was interesting but could have been presented in a much less verbose way.
The topic was certainly interesting. Who would have thought there were so many ways to help people grieve in their own way.
Not what I expected. Too long and drawn out in some parts.
I enjoyed the book , held my attention..a good read
Good read! I laughed, I Boo’d, I called foul and shook my head. Very enjoyable.
The combination of a dog owner, devoted friend and someone still in the dating market makes fort a great protagonist. There were enough red herrings to keep the ending secure fur much of the book.
Loved the characters and the storyline. Different from other writers stories and very, very interesting. I was extremely pleased with this book and I am eager to get my hands on another one from this author! I was given this book for free and I am writing this review of my own free will.
Loved the characters. Cant wait to read more of her work
An interesting approach to a mystery and a fun new author to follow.
A great FUN read. I loved how the author talked back to her readers. I am a part-time insomniac and it was a nice thing to wake up to at 3 AM.
Really enjoyed this book
Hysterical, great premise, funny situations! Ordered the next in series immediately!
