Kira Lier has been running from monsters her whole life: her drug-addicted mother, her drunken stepfather, and dangerous vagrants. Then one night she’s kidnapped from the street and taken miles below the surface to a hidden city and sold on the black market. Kira has to summon her own inner darkness to survive, because down in Underland monsters aren’t just myths. They’re real.
Are you scared of monsters? I hope not cause this book is full of them. It took me a while to get into the plot of this book just cause it’s so unique – its strength and its weakness perhaps? – but once I got into it I couldn’t put it down as I’m sure will be the case for you!
“Chocolate is the only cure for madness,” I couldn’t agree more! Underland is a fantastic tale of monsters, myths, and mayhem.

Thoughts right after finishing: absolutely loved it!
I really enjoyed Chanda’s prior series, the series of unfortunate fairy tales, so I jumped on the opportunity to read this one as soon as it came out.
We start off with our heroine who is kidnapped and thrown into a foreign world. But that does not stop her from being kick-ass! She meets several characters along her journey whom you’re not sure is friend or foe. There was also an underlying mystery surrounding her circumstances and those of the other characters. There are vampires, zombies, wolves, etc. I ended up reading this book in one sitting—it was that good! i just couldnt wait to see what happened and was so disappointed when the book ended! Oh that ending! I wanted more! LOL looking forward to the next installment in the series. I love Zeke and Kira!
If you’re looking for action, adventure, a touch of romance, and all things fantastical, this is the book for you 😀 Think Hunger Games meets Percy Jackson!
I really liked the twist of taking normally bad creatures and making them good. This is my second favorite book that Chanda Hahn has written because of its uniqueness and originality. I can’t wait to read the next one!
I have always loved greek god’s stories so when I saw this book I knew I needed to read it and I was not disappointed. I loved that Kira was a kickass character and I loved that this book had all my favorite types of supernatural creatures like werewolves, vampires, zombies, shape-shifters, greek gods. It did end on a cliff hanger but that doesn’t bother me it just makes me what to read the next one, even more, to see what happens next.
This was an interesting story but I really liked the characters and I’m interested in how the story will end. Chanda is a very talented author and I love how she weaves classics with updated twists.
Chanda Hahn is my go to for books! I will preorder and one click any book with her name attached!! She keeps you entertained from page one! Her imagination into the land of fairy tales is amazing!!! Can’t wait to read more from her!!
I really enjoyed this book. I did struggle at one point in the book to keep going, but I didn’t want to give in and stop reading. I really felt like this book had potential and I wasn’t wrong. By mid book, Chanda was able to grab my attention again. I think that the premise of the book was well developed. I would love to connect to the characters more and I am hoping that that will happen in book 2. There were many moments throughout the book, that were intense. I wasn’t sure where Chanda was going and that is something that I love about her writing; she is not predictable. I was glued to the book for the last 6 chapters. I am now left craving the next book. I think this book is definitely worth a try.
This series is a stark difference from the lighter tales Chanda has put out, but it’s a great change. I like seeing that she can take a story to the darkest depths and make me crave more. I was captured by the tag line alone and couldn’t wait to read the book. I was not disappointed and read the entire thing in 2 days. Great read.
I love this book! Chanda Hahn has done it again, and I think this might be my favorite. This story is so creative, and it’s very refreshing to read a new storyline. The characters are a fresh take on your average bad guys, zombies, monsters, and the like. Throw in a little action, romance, and drama and you have a makings for a great book. Can’t wait to read the next one!
Definitely a great book! Chanda Hahn did it again! Putting her own original twist on mythology. Kira is definitely someone I would want with me if I had to go there. It captured my attention from the very beginning. I’m glad we don’t have to participate in such things.
This book has caught my attention since I first saw the cover online. I am a big fan of Chanda’s book and I was pleasantly surprised that I really love the underworld and all the weird inhabitants in it.
I want to know what happens next and what is with the door. Does it pertain to the labyrinth?all these questions and I need the answers too! Now to wait till 2017. Well done Chanda!! Couldn’t put this book down it was a total page turner
Two types of ways people will look at this book: Cliche or a gem that captured their heart. (Yes, I know that sounds cheesy, but whatever)
I am the second, I fell in love with this book. I mean, I think I must have, I read it over 10 times in the same month.
I loved the characters, the building story. the placement, the action, the characters interactions with each other, the character development, everything.
Kindle version has a few grammar mistakes when it was first released and a bunch of people got ‘upset’ but I was able to read the book just fine anyway and understand what was going on.
Main character Kira gets plucked from the streets of Portland and tossed into a world full of monsters and ends up having to compete in killer games for freedom… i bet your thinking “sounds like the hunger games wannabe…” No, sounds like a great entertaining read to me!
Monsters, action, romance, humor… yeah, definitely a interesting read!
I already read Un Enchanted series by Hahn and was really looking forward to her new series “Underland”, and I must say I was not disappointed.
Nice, easy, simple (yet not too simple) none dirty, read.
Left at a huge cliffhanger, I can not wait for book 2!!!
What an imaginative world! I felt like I was down in the underworld with Kira. You truly feel that desire she has to completely shut down anyone that tries to harm her. I love her will to fight and that she isn’t a damsel in distress because she can save herself.
I like a good monster story so I was ready to pick up this one. Kira is going to be one tough girl. She really gets trowed into a game she didn’t want to be apart of. It seems that with the life she had she can’t catch a brake. Can she make it to the end in time? What is behind the door? Will the romance stay alive? just a few questions I have asked myself while reading this book.
Chandra Hahn is one of my favorite authors, she has a way of making the characters come alive and her stories are always very original!
