I loved this take on the Cinderella story. Eleanor Castle is looking for revenge against her stepmother who is running her family’s chain of stores with an iron fist with an eye to lining her own pockets. Eleanor’s father has not been seen for months and is rumored to be seriously ill. When Eleanor goes undercover, she is tagged by Nico Lamon to be the Lamon Lady and spokesman for his family’s wonderful line of shoes and clothing. That is not a good position for someone who is hiding in plain sight. I won this book in a Facebook contest and had not read anything by this author before and was delighted with the story.
Really good!
In this first book of the Castles of Dallas series Eleanor Castle is the lost princess of Castles Department stores. She ran away from her evil step mother and the legacy years ago. But she is back now to reclaim what is rightfully hers and to right all the wrongs in her life. What she does not expect is to run into the boy who stole her heart with one look from afar when she was just a teen.
Nico Lamon has returned to Castles to try and save his father’s legacy, Lamon Fashions from the brink of bankruptcy. He has made a deal with the company to push his new spring collection and boost sales, all starting with finding the right spokes woman at the Castles 100th anniversary ball. “If the shoe fits…” is exactly what happened when a mysterious woman in red showed at the ball and fit perfectly as the Lamon Lady and “his one”. But she disappears and now he is left with nothing but an empty heart and a pair of Lamon Valentine shoes. Can Lamon find his woman in red?

The characters are realistic. You can imagine all the inner turmoil she goes through. You see her heart at the end. I love the rest of the series and being able to keep hearing about the characters.
Great if you want a quick happy ending read on a rainy day.
I really enjoyed this romance with a lot of other things going on. I voluntarily chose to review it and I’ve given it a 5* rating. I really liked this heroine and how she went undercover, even though the real her still showed out. There was a little humor and danger also with this. A very sweet read.
Enjoyable
This is a wonderful story of family and how the daughter is going to bring down her step mom and help her dad.
Quick read, but of intrigue
An interesting twist in a fairytale type theme.
