In this book we see betrayal, deception, cheating, and best of all a new love blossom. Ashley is engaged to Steve (total asshat). Jason is a billionaire company owner where Steve works. Jason meets Ashley at a company party. Jason convinces Ashely to help him nail his cousin Victoria (Queen Bitch) and Steve to wall for the illegal bs they are pulling. Ashley has absolutely no reason to help Jason, but decides to help him anyways. Throughout helping him they begin their journey of love.
Great read with all the feels, fun, love, steam and mystery. Excellently written story that draws you in from chapter one until you finish the book in one sitting!
This is the book that brought me to Lucy Score and quite honestly it’s changed my life. I love the entire set up, Ashley thinks she’s got the perfect life until she finds out Steven is cheating and in the same moment find out she can help karma along at helping Steven get what’s coming to him. While I loved this book years ago, it’s better now that it’s been revamped.
Take two heinous people ( well one heinous the other a dupe), one sexy mysterious billionaire and one sweet naive girl and you’ve got yourself a very interesting story. This is a story of a little intrigue, questions, mystery a slow burn romance and a lot of anticipation.
I don’t do spoilers so it’s really difficult this time to give a full critique because I have strong feelings on one of the characters. What I will say is that rarely do I detest a character so much. In this case the heinous person I pointed out in the beginning made me want to yell at her from the beginning. That never changed throughout the book. The dupe, well he’s just that.
The two most interesting characters are Jason, the billionaire, because you never fully know what he’s after and Ashley, because she’s so sweet. However, watching her metamorphosis and her come into her own actually made me smile. It was always there just hiding. Sometimes we mistake being nice for being naive or stupid. In reality haven’t many of us been there. When you love you trust and overlook things that normally you’d have issue with. It doesn’t make you naive, It makes you human. You are not always the same person in your work or profession as you are in your relationships. When that one thing happens that pushes you over the edge, watch out. “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned!”. That doesn’t mean irrational it means she will go to the depths of hell to make you pay and will do it very clinically and you may never see it coming. (Smirk..smile).
This was a fast read for me for two reasons; one because it was a fast read and two, because I couldn’t stop. It’s funny, the more I thought about this book the more I liked it. Even the secondary characters were delightful.
From what I gathered this was the author’s first book. That is hard to believe. She set a high bar for herself!
So I’m suggestion you get under your covers and pull out this treat because you’re going to love it!
Exciting!
Ashley thinks she has life all figured out. A job she loves, a fiancée and a fun bestie. She’s living her best life, right? She couldn’t be more wrong. How could she know that attending one party with her fiancée would change her life so irrevocably? You’ll be on the edge of your seat as you watch Ashley’s life unravel at the hands of the hot security guy, Jason. Is he a good guy or a bad guy? This bulked up rewrite is exciting, intriguing, and very sexy. And the revenge is worth the wait!
Oh man! I totally loved Jason & Ashley. What a wild psychotic ride this one was! I loved their witty banter & the crazy characters. This one had Lucy’s charm all over it! So good!!!
“I’m not going to trust you, but I will help you.”
Ashley is written as one energetic, independent woman with a dry sense of humour. She’s half Irish, and it shows! She’s also starting to get totally pissed off with Steven, her fiance, the one who spends more time with the office ice queen, saying her name more than he realises is good for him, and she’s starting to re-evaluate their relationship.
She is approached at the latest party in Victoria’s step-family’s home, by none other than the gorgeous enigmatic Security specialist and company owner, Jason Baine.
She finds it hard to believe the level of intense and hypnotic reaction between them, and he’s got a proposition for her. Victoria and Steven are scheming, possibly making illegal deals involving the company, and he needs her help to bring them down. She might not trust the attraction game he seems to be playing with her, but she’s in.
The interaction between her and Jason is intensely hot, yet lightened with the best of subtle one-liners. As a romantic suspense, I think LOL moments would ruin the tension, so I think Lucy Score got the balance just right. This is the second book of hers that I’ve read in a row, and firmly believe it is reading time well spent. Oh, and the steam level is quality not quantity for the win. 5 Stars for this romantic suspense.
UNDERCOVER LOVE by Lucy Score is Ashley Sapienza, upon discovering her fiancée not only cheating on her but also up to something no good with his colleague, Ice Queen Victoria, agrees to help Jason Baine to catch the duo red-handed. Except Ashley doesn’t dabble in corporate espionage or illicit affairs, well, until Jason. According to the Author’s Note, UNDERCOVER LOVE is Lucy Score’s first book, and it contains wit, heat, espionage intrigue, and a good cast of characters to love or hate. A fun read from the first page to the last.
I love a story where you see karma come to those who are evil and selfish to the core. Ashley was strong and kept her head through what was a very trying time. Jason and his grandfather are finally free of manipulation.
After going to a dinner party with her fiance Steve, Ashley is left to entertain herself. She wonders off to take a break in a quiet room. Then she meets the ice queens step brother Jason. And then she discovers betrayal, cheating and lies and wonders who to trust.
Spying on you fiancé, falling for a billionaire, becoming the target of a sociopath…all in a day’s work right? Ashley Sapienza’s whole life gets upended after attending a party with her then fiancé. Hanging out with Jason Baine on a handball court was almost too much yet not quite enough. He overwhelms her in every way. She comes to mean everything to him. It’s a fast and furious love affair with a few bumps along the road.
Undercover Love is a fun romp through Wilmington, North Carolina after Ashley discovers her fiance and one of his co-workers sleeping together, and maybe being a whole lot of illegal?
Jason and Ashley are super sexy together, and fun to read after I got over Jason’s a$$holish, manipulative behavior. All the different aspects of the investigation, including ketchup poured in a designer purse were a riot!
One of the reasons Lucy is one of my favourite writers, from her first book to her most recent, her writing hasn’t changed. Yes, her writing has grown, and matured, but it is still all about how to write the best story she can and that’s more rare than one would think.
This was a fun and easy to read story. There wasn’t anything groundbreaking and I wasn’t totally up in my feels, but it was an enjoyable story none the less.
This is Lucy’s first book but she recently added more to the story. I was hooked from the beginning when we meet Ashley and her jerk of a fiance Steven. I loved Ashley from the start as well as Jason Baine who she met at a dinner party. Ashley has noticed that Steven has changed over the last year and part of that change is his conversations with Jason’s half sister Victoria. Victoria is a selfish, back stabbing, horrible woman. When Ashley discovers that Steven is cheating on her she partners with Jason to bring them down. This was such a fantastic read!
I have been in a bit of a book slump and needed something to pick me back up and this was just the book! I have read every other book of Lucy Score’s but have been waiting on the re-write of this one so I was excited when I saw it’s re-release. I can’t say enough about how much I loved these characters and this book. This is one of those books that I will continue to think about for weeks and months to come.
Lucy Score, had out did herself with this brilliant piece of writing.
I love books where the characters are so well written that you feel like you want to live in their world.
Ashley has a great job, and loving family and friends. She is engaged to Steven, who puts his work first.
When they attend a work party, his workmate Victoria, the ice queen, makes it very clear that she is not welcome and steals Steven away and has her stepbrother tasked to watch her and keep her entertained.
Jason Baine, is a billionaire security adviser, who wants to reveal his stepsister fraudulent activities in his grandfather’s company. He is extremity attractive and knows what he wants and Ashley is now on his radar.
Victoria, has schemed her whole life. She believes that sex is the answer to everything. She uses it as a weapon to get what she wants.
When Jason asks Ashley to help him prove that Steven and Victoria are involved in a insider trading scheme and each other, she agrees to go undercoverand help find the information they need to take them down.
As the attraction grows between Jason and her, they both have to learn to trust their feelings, and not get burned between the sheets.
I love how this story is developed and so well written.
Well done Lucy Score.
