One of OprahMag.com’s Best Romances of 2020 Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction. Liv Papandreas has a dream job as a sous chef at Nashville’s hottest restaurant. Too bad the celebrity chef owner is less than charming behind kitchen doors. After she catches him harassing a young hostess, she confronts … harassing a young hostess, she confronts him and gets fired. Liv vows revenge, but she’ll need assistance to take on the powerful chef.
Unfortunately, that means turning to Braden Mack. When Liv’s blackballed from the restaurant scene, the charismatic nightclub entrepreneur offers to help expose her ex-boss, but she is suspicious of his motives. He’ll need to call in reinforcements: the Bromance Book Club.
Inspired by the romantic suspense novel they’re reading, the book club assists Liv in setting up a sting operation to take down the chef. But they’re just as eager to help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart. . .even though she’s determined to squelch the sparks between them before she gets burned.

She did it again! The second book is just as great as the first. The way she puts the thoughts of romance readers into the mouths of male characters is both fresh and surprising. The bromance book club premise is the gift that keeps on giving!
“Braden Mack thinks reading romance novels makes him an expert in love, but he’ll soon discover that real life is better than fiction.”
Undercover Bromance, book 2 in the Bromance Book Club series by Lyssa Kay Adams was just utter PERFECTION! I fell head over heels in laughter and love with Braden Mack in book 1, The Bromance Club, and once again Lyssa did not disappoint with this novel.
Braden Mack is the hilariously charming bachleor among the club. He’s single and ready to find love like the rest of the guys. One wrong date proves he’s doing things wrong… That is until he joins forces with Liv to bring down her former narcissistic boss whose harassing his employees.
“I used to think I knew what I was doing with women, Liv,” he whispered. “But then I met a certain pastry chef, and my whole fucking world turned on its head.”
Liv Papandreas was first introduced to us in book 1. She’s Thea’s baby sister and she’s headstrong, snarky, and a bit sassy. She detests liars and cheaters. It all centers from her father abandoning them. She isn’t quick to fall for Mack’s charm but the more time they spend together the harder it is to fight the attraction.
“I just want to wake up next to you,” he said quietly. “Is that all right with you?”
Liv and Mack are total opposites which was the ideal enemies-to-lovers, love/hate relationship trope we all love and crave. Such witty banter and oh so sweet moments between these two characters and I just couldn’t get enough of it!
Secondly, the beauty of this book was that it wasn’t just a romance story. Their was so many issues and backstory that was brought up and handled in a respectable manner. I lived for those laugh-out-loud lines, especially when the Bromance Club was involved.
Undercover Bromance quickly become a top read of the year for me. Wit and heart went into this book and these characters felt like one big family. I cannot wait for more books in this series. I’m really hoping the Russian is next!
A successful sequel in my opinion. Engaging, fun, sexy, suspenseful, important themes, a bad guy, a lot of good guys, grand gestures, and I liked that the author calls out double standards in both genders. Yes, we do it sometimes too, ladies. Looking forward to more installments in this winning series!
I thought the first book in this series was wonderful, but this one was even better. Braden Mack takes center stage in this book and is about to fall in love for the first time in his life. Sure, he has had plenty of girlfriends and he is always helping out the guys in the Bromance Book Club with advice when they have problems with their wives, but he has never been in their shoes. That all changes in this book! So there is the romance aspect of the book which is great, but the bigger issue tackled in this book is workplace sexual harassment. I had so many emotions while reading this book. I cried, I laughed, I was rooting for things to work out, and scared that things would go horribly wrong. This was an excellent read that I couldn’t put down, but also didn’t want to end.
I received a complimentary copy of this ebook from Berkley Publishing Group through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
I am not sure how much more I can talk about this series. I fell in love with Gavin and Thea and was concerned that I wouldn’t like Liv because of that book. Well, I loved it. LOVED IT. Liv was a lot to handle and I’m telling you, Mack did a phenomenal job.
Mack, oh Mack. I fell hard for this man early on. The founder of the Bromance Bookclub wanted his own HEA but he just went about things completely wrong. He saw the way his friends saved their marriages and he always knew the right words to say, but in his own life he was completely lacking. I loved to see the transformation from suave, flirt to bumbling, nervous man that just wanted someone to love him for him.
The secondary characters were great, again. I loved the addition of Rosie and her man and also Noah. I can’t help but think we will be seeing a lot more of him and his stealthy self soon. I can’t wait to read about ALL OF THEM!
I loved The Bromance Book Club so I was eagerly anticipating Undercover Bromance. I wasn’t sure if this one would be as good as the first, but I can happily share that I thought Undercover Bromance was even better!
Undercover Bromance is Mack and Liv’s book. Liv is fired from her dream job at one of Nashville’s hottest restaurants after a cupcake disaster that Mack played a part in. Oh, and there’s also the part where Liv witnesses her boss harassing her co-worker. Liv enlists Mack’s help in her revenge plot. Mack is determined to help Liv but has no idea he is signing up for. The male romance book club comes to the rescue of Mack and Liv to not only set up a sting operation to take down Liv’s boss, but also help Mack figure out the way to Liv’s heart.
What did I love about the book? I’m a big fan of witty banter in romance books. The back and forth between Liv and Mack was hilarious – a great combination of Mack’s charm and Liv’s snarkiness. Mack’s emotional backstory made this enemies-to-lovers story stand out. As you learn more about Mack, you see how his past has shaped him into a caring, charming, and protective man.
While reading this book, I had a constant smile on my face and laughed out loud several times. I look forward to many more of books in this series. I would love to read about The Russian!! The Bromance Book Club world is a great place to visit and never fails to put me in a good mood. You’ll definitely want to make time to read this one as soon as possible!
Thank you to the publisher for providing me with an advance reading copy in exchange for an honest review.
Interesting and entertaining story. I enjoyed it very much.
Enjoyed the buildup to the sting. Glad there are more books in the series
‘’ .’
Book one in this series grabbed a hold of me and shook me like a rag doll. I loved it so much, I had no choice but to move onto book two.
Liv was definitely not my favorite character in the first book, but this one gave her a lot of redemption. Diving into what made her the way she was cleared up a lot of things for me. She was still prickly, but not to the extent she appeared when we first met.
And Braden Mack. The man behind the Club that helped save his buddies relationships, was a man with a heart of gold and an overprotective streak a mile wide.
Obviously, the backstory as to why he was this way definitely made sense.
I loved the storyline, and I enjoyed coming into new and old friends.
Onto book three!
Loved this book!! Lyssa Kay Adams has been added to my favorite authors list!! What a fantastic book with such wonderful, funny characters!! There’s a group of men that started the Bromance Book Club to help with their relationships and this is Braden Mack & Liv’s book (Liv was in the first book, Thea’s sister). Liv wasn’t very likable in the first book but redeemed herself in this one. They each worked through their own issues to get their HEA. The book has a different twist on men & their friendship with each other in such a funny, entertaining, honest way!! It’s emotional, hysterical, heartbreaking at times & heartwarming. I can’t recommend this book & author enough!! I have read the rest of the series & am looking forward to her next book!!
A great addition to this series. And Another great performance by Andrew Eiden.
This book was so funny. I laughed out loud multiple times. But it also dealt with some serious issues and did it so well.
The sexual harassment storline was handled with honesty and sensitivity. And I loved how passionate Olivia was about helping the victims.
I did miss the narration of the book within the book that we had in the 1st bromance book club. But I still Can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
Laugh out loud funny! I love seeing romance novels from a guys perspective.
“Undercover Bromance” was an entertaining read. The plot was filled with intrigue, hilarity, and lust while trying to take down a sexual predator. Furthermore, the dynamic and diverse characters added to the entertainment. Additionally, the author’s use of imagery and other vivid descriptions helped to create a lively tone. Overall, I enjoyed reading the narrative.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. The characters were believable and endearing. I actually laughed out loud while reading and wanted to share this book with my sisters. I’ve read all the books in the Bromance Book Club series, am eagerly waiting for the 4th book to be released, and fervently hope there are more books on the horizon in this series. I highly recommend this book!
Did not finish. Sexist and full of stereotypes. The quirky older woman was the best character.
I forgot how funny this series is. How could I forget that???? Well, I was reminded immediately as I opened Undercover Bromance and was laughing, out loud, by the second page. The first page got a couple of chuckles….
I read the first book of this series last summer when it popped up as a book deal on BookBubs. You don’t have to read these books in order, but I do think that The Bromance Club was the perfect start to the series and the perfect introduction to this zany set of characters. The series is centered around a group of off-the-wall guys who have some hang-ups that they are determined to work through together by reading romance novels. If you haven’t figured it out, their hang-ups have to do with keeping their woman happy and knowing she is loved. They look at romance novels as how-to manuals.
Undercover Bromance adds romantic suspense to the mix which is totally fitting since those are the preferred romances of Braeden Mack, the H. There isn’t a mystery to solve, you know who the bad guy is. The mystery/suspense comes in how this group of characters is going to take him down. There is also the addition of Rosie and Hop to the cast of characters and I’m hoping we hear more about them. If you need fun summer reading (or really, anytime reading) grab this series and sit down to pure entertainment, wonderful characters, and some good laughs. Remember, the grand gesture always requires running!!!!
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I did. In fact, initially, I didn’t think that I was going to listen to this book because I disliked Liv from the last book. (I also disliked Thea in the prior book as well, but my love for the guys in the books made book 1 a 3.5 star book for me.). I skipped this book and then read the 3rd book in the series, liked that book (and really fell even more in love with the Russian) so I decided to try this one out.
And I actually liked it. Now, I read some of the other reviews and I understand the concerns that there was a humorous aspect to a book that is covering a very very dark subject- sexual harassment. But I think that this author did a great job of still showcasing what this awful act does to women while still appropriately using humor to give a little levity. The humor was usually around the men (the Russian. I adore him and that scene after he ate some dairy product? I laughed so hard).
My issue is that I still had a little trouble with Liv. I think that she was a little judgmental and difficult to get along with. The author realized this though and used that to highlight character growth throughout the story. Overall, I really enjoyed the story line, loved the boys in the book club and liked Mac too. The romance was pretty low key, in my mind, because my attention was on the resolution of the underlying story, which was the exposing of the awful acts my the celebrity chef.
I listened to the audiobook, which was narrated by Andrew Eiden and as always, he was fantastic. He is one of my favorite narrators and that’s because he’s able to modulate his voice to cover a whole cast of characters and infuse his narration with emotion. Overall, the narration elevated the story for me and I can’t wait for book 4!
I read this story last year but in the craziness that was 2020 I didn’t submit a review and I really wanted to add to my list of stories I love.
Mac a founding member of the Bromance Book Club (I believe it is Liv that coins the name for the group). Liv, Mack and the Guys team up to help Liv after she confronts a celebrity chef owner that is not a good man. There is attraction but Liv is closed off. Mack with some help from the Bromance Book club figures out a way into Liv’s heart. Another great read, with lots of emotion. So happy Mack got his HEA. Meeting the guys as we do, I definitely watch for the next book to see who need help to get back or find love.
I can’t get enough of the Bromance Book Club! Undercover Bromance is a delightful slow burn between two people who couldn’t be more different from each other, but right in so many ways.
The bond between the guys only gets more entertaining with each book. I’ve been highly anticipating Mack’s story and this exceeded my expectations.
Filled with minimal drama, romance, and enough comedy to have you laughing through your tears – you’ll be coming back to read this series all over again after each new release!
I absolutely adore the Bromance Book Club series, and Undercover Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams was another hilarious and moving installment. I loved seeing Braden and Liv connect, and Liv is easily one of my favorite female characters in this series. She fights for what is right and this book focuses on harassment, so of course, she is going to take down the bad guy, with the help of the Bromance Book Club of course! This book will make you laugh your head off, but it is also emotional and filled with plenty of romance. I love the hilarity that always ensues when the men of the book club get involved in something, and the concept of this series has been just one of the many things that keeps me reading.
Undercover Bromance is a bit on the steamy side as all the books in this series are, but nothing too crazy and I just love the way Adams can make me laugh. If you are in a bad mood this is a great book to read or listen to, and I promise you won’t be in a bad mood for long! I listened to the audiobook like I did the last time, and our narrator is again Andrew Eiden. Not as much book-within-a-book in this one, but Eiden kills the narration and I have gotten very used to him as the narrator for this series. So much so that I don’t even mind anymore that there isn’t a female narrator for the character switches. If you loved the first book, you should definitely read or listen to Undercover Bromance.
