From New York Times Bestselling Author Kristen Proby comes an all new family in her With Me In Seattle world! Hold onto your seat as we introduce you to Kristen’s new MAFIA FAMILY!As the eldest son of Seattle’s current mob boss, Carmine Martinelli’s life has never really been his own. But he doesn’t mind because his family means more to him than his life. Which is why he’s determined to make … to make those responsible for the death of his aunt and uncle pay—in inventive and gruesome ways. And what better way to do that than to infiltrate the Russian mafia from the inside? It’s a good thing the bratva’s princess is stunning and seemingly willing to do whatever he asks. This vengeance could be the perfect mix of business and pleasure.
Nadia Tarenkov has several things stacked against her: she’s a woman, and she’s not the eldest child in her family. But it doesn’t matter. She has her sights set on ruling the syndicate, and she always gets what she wants. When the heir to one of the States’ most powerful crime families comes knocking, Nadia sees it for the gift it is. He thinks he has her fooled, but she’s smarter, more cunning, and always two steps ahead. She’ll beat the gorgeous mobster at his own game, and secure her place in the fold.
What neither of them takes into consideration, however, is that they aren’t the only ones with deadly plans in motion. To survive, they’ll have to come clean and work together—and acknowledge that the growing love they’ve been pretending isn’t there, is very real.

This was such a good mafia story and no one writes such complex characters like Kristen Proby. This was so good I couldn’t put it down.
Carmine and Nadia are both from different families and have so much more in common then they know. This enemies to lovers story has lots of twists and turns. Loyalties to be proven and a common enemy to be found.
What I loved most about this was as tough as both Carmine and Nadia were, there were these vulnerabilities just below the surface and watching them grow to love and trust each other consumed me.
This was such a great start to this series, and Kristen has set the stage for the next book with that epilogue. I can’t wait!
This new series is one hell of a ride and I’m already anticipating the next book.
I laughed at Nadia from the Prologue and loved her take-charge attitude. The chemistry between Carmine and her is explosive and I loved their enemies to lovers, hate to love relationship. You never know what was going to happen next. The story flows seamlessly and kept me on edge because I really didn’t know what was going to happen. It’s dark and dangerous, suspenseful and mysterious, and hot and sexy.
Strong Smart Heroine
Smexy Alpha Hero
Revenge
Betrayal
Steamy Romance
This … *sigh*
I do not want to spoil the “in your face” reveal that occurs that throws everyone’s plans into a spiral –
I loved that the player was played and how
These two were perfect for each other
Both were determined to achieve their goals and still, they used their heads and their hearts to achieve them
They knew when to call a draw a draw and when to double down
For me that was a big positive – none of that back and forth do I or don’t I
They communicated – sure initially they both were a bit devious and underhanded but every relationship has its hardships (yes I am laughing so hard as I typed that)
A solid romance and a fabulous start to the series
What a great start to Kristen Proby’s new Mafia series! Carmine and Nadia lit up the pages. There was intrigue, backstabbing, lies and finally love. Underboss is a page turner and you won’t be disappointed in picking this new series up. I’m looking forward to the next story already!
I was a little skeptical of a “Mafia” book by Kristen Proby. Kristen’s books tend to be easy reading, low angst, happy ever after books and I figured a Mafia series typically are very angsty. Kristen pulled this story off so that it is authentic “feeling” but still true to her style. I enjoyed it very much. There is mystery, drama, and, of course plenty of romance. Kristen has been “dipping her toe” in genres she’s not known for and she is killing it. Great book!
This is a bit of a departure for this author. This is tied to the Seattle series.Nadia is a strong woman who does what needs to be done. Carmine is ruthless in this world. I will say, I did not find the characters very likeable. For me, it took a long time to warm up to them. It also takes a really long time for them to admit how they really feel about each other. Excited for the next book to see where this spin off takes us.
4.5 Stars
I have come to love Kristen Proby books for her wonderful characters and the sweet romance that they find. But I have also become a bit of a suspense junky when reading, needing that drive to figure out the who done it while reading. So this was like the best of both worlds for me. I completely enjoyed the added twist of the Mafia and suspense.
Nadia decided at a young age that she would do what was needed to be there for the family even though she was a woman in a mans world. Her Papa was on board and has helped her by letting her be part of the organization. But fighting for the place of boss when her turn comes has caused her to be a little cold in the eyes of the outside world. But they might find her strength will surprise them.
Carmine is as loyal as they come to his family, but that is part of the Mafia world. If you don’t stick beside your family you don’t have anything. He is determined to find the killer of his Aunt and Uncle to bring justice for his cousin Elena. He has his sights on Nadia, but getting her to trust him will be a big part of the challenge.
The chemistry between Nadia and Carmine is off the charts and despite being from separate Mafia families they have known each other for quite some time. Always seeing each other on neutral territory of weddings & funerals. But will they be able trust one another? Open up to possible feelings? As they are forced to work together for a common goal, could they find something they weren’t looking for?
So excited for this new spin-off in our Seattle world and can’t wait for more.

Well, well, well, I have a new series to Indulge in!
Nadia and Carmine’s story kept me absolutely glued to my reader! Want to talk about exciting! Everything about this story…the locales, the characters, the dialogue, everything kept me intrigued and wanting more!
Mafia romance is one of my go to genres, and Ms. Proby has sucked me right into this new world!
Can’t wait for more!
I received an advanced reader copy, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
The first book in this new series and I cannot wait to read more. This is mafia but with Kristen’s sexy spin and a good strong female lead character. Carmine and Nadia’s story was exciting and fun it kept me guessing and fully invested in them as a couple. As this is the first book we meet a lot of the extended characters but it didn’t feel like it bogged down the storyline with unnecessary detail that took away from their story. I absolutely loved Nadia she was what I usually like in my mafia men but in female form. You get a sense of who she is, as cunning and deceitful as the men in the family but still without that hardness that could have made me dislike her as a woman. Carmine surprised me as the book progressed it was a nice surprise when he was supportive of her ambition and independence whilst still being a protective alpha but not too OTT. I really enjoyed the twists the storyline went in and cannot wait to read the next one.
Underboss A With Me In Seattle Mafia Series is the newest series by Kirsten Proby. All her books in the With Me In Seattle series is a must buy, and this new books are just as good, sexy powerful men and strong capable women. A true crime mystery romance book. It’s a full of action, mystery, love and romance story. In true Kristen style each word keeps you reading and wanting more and more.
Underboss is the first title in the With Me in Seattle Mafia series, featuring Carmine Martinelli and Nadia Tarenkov. I’m a long-time reader of the With Me in Seattle series, and if that hadn’t sold me on giving this book a try, the gorgeous cover would have.
For anyone who has read You Belong with Me, you will be familiar with Carmine’s character as he was featured in his cousin Elena’s story.
Carmine likes the finer things in life and lives a luxurious lifestyle. He’s the eldest of the Martinelli brothers and a strong, sexy, intelligent, sophisticated and dominant alpha.
Nadia is a strong, resilient, intelligent, head strong, and opinionated mafia princess, who isn’t afraid to go after what she wants.
The chemistry between this pair is undeniable, their relationship and interactions are hot and steamy and even though this title is laced with intrigue and danger, it’s still on the lighter side for a mafia romance with violence that isn’t as graphic or gruesome as in some titles I’ve read.
Despite a long-lasting rivalry between their two mafia families, they are both incredibly loyal and willing to do anything to protect those they hold dear.
The banter this pair shares is witty, and whilst they are intriguing, insightful they are both also exceptionally good at impersonating and charming their way into getting what they want.
Wow, wow, wow…..this book was so not what I expected but holy hell it was everything I wanted in a Kristen Proby mafia romance! From the sexy as sin cover to the captivating story, I inhaled this book like my life depended on it and refused to put it down.
Carmine and Nadia were explosive, between their banter and sexual chemistry you can’t help but be seduced by their story. This book was addicting, suspenseful, enthralling and hands down a page turner.
This was by far the quintessential Kristen Proby book that will consume your thoughts and have you hanging on to every word from the very first chapter. Believe me when I say this is a MAFIA ROMANCE you’ll definitely need to read!
Underboss by Kristen Proby is the first book in the With Me in Seattle Mafia series. And if you have read the With Me in Seattle and you love it like I do. You need to read this book!! Is the perfect combination of romance with mafia, and i loveee mafia. When i meet this family in the previous books of the series I was so excited when Kristen announced that it will be a mafia series and let me tell you you will enjoy it so much.
Is the perfect combination of mafia, romance, sexy moments with the perfect Kristen’s style. You will meet amazing secondary characters that will be a really important part of the next book in the series, we will meet a few mafia series and the storyline of finding who is the traitor who attacked the Martinelli’s family i think will be part of the 3 books in this series and let me tell you that got me really intrigued.
Carmine and Nadia are a really hot and sexy couple, that once they are together you can feel their amazing chemistry and they try to played it like it just a hook up and thats it but when someone start following then and Carmine see that Nadia can be in danger, they will spend more time together and they could not deny their feelings any longer.
I dont want to tell a lot about the story so you can enjoy it and you will!! because once you start reading you cannot stop reading!
I’m so excited to read the next books in this amazing series!!!
Underboss by Kristen Proby
“Enemies to lovers, 5 stars”
I love a good enemies to lovers and I love Proby so right away I knew I was going to love Underboss. The push and pull between these two… *sigh*
Nadia as a child was told to stay away from Carmine, but that didn’t stop her. Years later when their paths cross is it done strategically or is it genuine? If the chemistry is anything to go by do their families have anything to worry about? Not much is worse than sleeping with the enemy when you live a life of crime.
I cannot wait for the next book in the story. Hurry up, Kristen!

Girly girl bada$$ Nadia wants to prove to her father that she, not her lazy brother, should take over the family business after his death. She finally has her chance when her father asks her to work with Carmine, from a rival family, to find the killer attacking both families.
This mafia/romantic suspense mash-up brings it with an action-packed hunt for a killer filled with mystery, suspense, and danger as Nadia and Carmine fall in love. And, it’s all done in a way that fits with Kristen Proby’s style — the mafia element doesn’t make the story too dark, and it has the steamy romance that is sometimes missing from a romantic suspense novel.
“You carry a concealed in an eleven-thousand-dollar handbag?” Nadia grins. “Doesn’t everyone?”
I loved Nadia. She’s strong, independent, and very capable of taking care of herself. Carmine can’t help but respected her and acknowledged her as his equal. I could easily see the two working together in the future to run both family businesses.
Underboss is the first in this series that is off to a great start. I can’t wait to read the next sexy Martinelli brother’s story!
I received an early copy of this book. This voluntary review contains my unbiased, honest opinion.
This is the 1st in a new series and is Carmine and Nadia’s story. Carmine is the eldest son of a mafia boss, while Nadia is a Bratva Princess. Carmine needs to infiltrate a rival family to find out who is responsible for his aunt and uncle’s murder. The chemistry between Carmine and Nadia is off the charts, and they are perfect together, which makes them an unstoppable team. This is a beautifully written story which is thrilling, intriguing, and with danger, family, and love, which all leads to a steamy and all-consuming and addictive page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is a suspenseful Mafia book. It’s the story of two people, from two different Mob families. Carmine and Nadia, they meet when they are young and then again years later. There is a lot of attraction these two are fighting against. Add in danger and suspense it makes for a page-turner book. Plus some steamy sex. Read this book today, another hit by Kristen Proby.
Kristen Proby takes on the Mafia like it’s her job and business is so freakin’ good! This has got to be one of the hottest enemies to lovers books I’ve read in quite some time and I loved every moment of it!! There’s so much agnst between Carmine and Nadia, it’s absolutely explosive between them when they do get down to the nitty gritty. And oh my goodness, the twists and turns….Proby keeps you guessing until the last page. It’s a good thing we won’t have to wait long because I absolutely cannot wait to get Shane & Ivy’s book next month!!
Loved this book! I didn’t quite know what to expect from a Kristen Proby mafia book but I thought she did a wonderful job. It had a lot of the uneasy truces that are found in the mafia families and the dedication to family above all else. I loved that Nadia and Carmine were both using each other in the beginning until they both had to work together to find the person who dared attack the families on neutral ground. This book had action and romance in it which made me not want to put it down.
*I received an ARC for an honest review*
3.5/4 stars
Nadia Tarenkov may be a woman, but she wants to lead her family. She takes her role within the organization very seriously and has trained to be the best she can be, even if she isn’t the heir to the family. When someone seems to be targeting her, it seems like fate that the son of her rival would set his sights on her. He thinks he is playing her, but she’s the one holding the cards this time.
Carmine Martinelli is focused on his family’s goals and at the top of his list is finding who was responsible for the murder of his aunt and uncle. The bratva princess seems a good place to try to infiltrate the rival family, especially since she is beautiful and seems to be clueless about his motives.
What neither anticipates is that they are not the only players in this game, and if either is to learn the truth they seek, they will have to work together.
Despite the family rivalry, these two have incredible chemistry and the steam is through the roof. What begins as both forbidden because of their family affiliation and an aspect of their jobs grows into something with more heart, something that promises more if their families will accept the match. But even as they aren’t sure what kind of deadline the relationship might have, they know they should take advantage of the spark as long and as often as they can.
As far as the mafia aspect of the book, it felt a little like mafia light. There was violence here and there, but it didn’t feel dark or dangerous as the characters traveled from city to city across the US and Europe. They had a mission, and a problem to solve, but they also didn’t dwell on the tasks their families had laid on them. It was also hard to believe that their families were as against each other as we were led to believe in the beginning. For being moral enemies, the families worked together as a whole very easily.
There are plenty of new characters to get to know. The Martinelli brothers are each their own personalities even as they all work for the family, and the little glimpses of the women around Nadia are intriguing as well.
