My life is ordinary, steady, predictable. And I’m okay with that. Working long shifts at the hospital is all the excitement I need. But when a simple rescue-attempt goes wrong, I find myself in the arms of an arrogant, yet sexy FBI agent.Kai Evans is what I’d call way out of my league. Yet, we end up dating. Sort of. That’s if you count fast-bike escapes and kissing while bullets fly around us as … bullets fly around us as a date.
While Kai tries to keep me safe and alive, Tyler Moore–an ex FBI agent with a smart mouth–slithers into my life. Turns out, Kai and Taylor have a history. The kind that can’t be erased with a simple handshake.
Now it’s all about settling the score between them, and Taylor has the perfect weapon to use against Kai…
Me.

Under the Scrubs by Katerina Baker is more than a romance book. Not to say it is not spicy, titillating, and naughty, because it certainly is. Lovers of romance and erotica will not be let down. But the book is also a thriller, full of action and unexpected surprises.
The book starts with a young celebrity coming to the hospital to have her baby delivered by Dr. Hughes. The doctor, a responsible OB/GYN delivers the baby boy, but in an unexpected twist, she also gets to name the baby. And what is this? Something dangerous happens to the baby and Dr. Hughes gets involved in trying to save the baby as a nightmare breaks loose. The baby she named is embedded in her psyche and heart.
Enter Taylor and Kai, two formidable men at odds with each other. They work on the baby’s case as they seek revenge on each other. Both men, exuding raw sexuality, pummel their way through their relationship with each other. Dr. Hughes attempts to extract a semblance of maturity from them, but not before she steals kisses from both of them. She is a modern woman, alive and well in her sensuality and passionate in her attitude towards men and life.
The evolution of Dr. Hughes from a responsible doctor to a crime-fighting street girl is wondrous to behold. She moves into the world of guns, blood, gore, and crime. There is tough language bandied about in this book. A cuss word here and there is good for effect, but towards the latter part of the book, the crude language slams the reader’s sensitivities in every other sentence. However, Under the Scrubs does not hold back. It celebrates raw and unashamed sexuality, as it turns the mystery of a missing woman into a hero’s quest and rocks with nonstop action. There is no ebb and flow in this book. It is direct action on a dramatic scale, coated with sexuality that sizzles, and sealed with a kiss that goes beyond anyone’s wildest imagination
This was a great book with amazing characters! I got pulled into the story from the start and truly enjoyed the ride! I loved every page and I would recommend it to others!

Under the Scrubs by Katerina Baker ended up being a “What did I just read?” book and I have to agree with the previous reviews to say that the plot flitted between not only Emilia but Kai (FBI) and then Taylor (ex-FBI and ex-con). Then add in Melissa who kidnaps the doctor to take care of baby Jayden. I’m still scratching my head as to why a doctor would continue to either be kidnapped or meddling into something she should have just walked away from. There is a lot of fighting between Taylor and Kai because of betrayal during this undercover op with the FBI.
Emilia Hughes is a OB/GYN who delivers a baby and then leaves the hospital. she tries to stop a assault and Kai comes to her rescue. Then she’s kidnapped by Melissa’s thugs and then the plot just bounces all over between the so many people that I just had to say Huh?
So I have to leave a 1.5 star rating which I hate to do because I’m sorry to say Under the Scrubs was confusing and for me I’m still wondering if there was a happily ever after or not?
