Fighting to survive in a ravaged world, a Dweller and a Savage form an unlikely alliance in New York Times bestselling author Veronica Rossi’s “unforgettable dystopian masterpiece” (Examiner.com).
Exiled from her home, the enclosed city of Reverie, Aria knows her chances of surviving in the outer wasteland — known as The Death Shop — are slim. Then Aria meets an Outsider named Perry. He’s wild — … Perry. He’s wild — a savage — and her only hope of staying alive. A hunter for his tribe in a merciless landscape, Perry views Aria as sheltered and fragile—everything he would expect from a Dweller. But he needs Aria’s help too; she alone holds the key to his redemption.
In alternating chapters told in Aria’s and Perry’s voices, Under the Never Sky subtly and powerfully captures the evolving relationship between these characters and sweeps readers away to a harsh but often beautiful world. Continuing with Through the Ever Night and concluding with Into the Still Blue, the Under the Never Sky trilogy has already been embraced by readers in twenty-six countries and been optioned for film by Warner Bros.

Oh man – I got sucked into this one fast. First of all, I am not really a big dystopian reader (DESPITE the fact that most of the books I have been reading lately of the YA genre fall into that category). In Rossi’s novel, I found many great stories tossed together – snipets of DUNE, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, THE MATRIX – really, quite an impressive …
This is a YA dystopian story, great world building I’ve never read something like this. Lots of twist and turns in the plot and very hard to put down.
I feel like it’s been a long time since I read a dual perspective narrative where I enjoyed both characters evenly. The main characters, Aria and Perry, were very different, but each was rich and believable. Aria is on a quest to discover what happened to her mother. This kicks off the inciting incident and is a driving force for her throughout …
I love the world she built, and it felt like it was original and new, before dystopian stories were flooding the shelves. I was so angry I had to wait for book two (many moons ago).
I started reading this just for something different. I was pleasantly surprised. It roped me in enough to want to read the second book. I’m to a big into romance novels, but I did like the romance in the book. It was there, but not the main focus. Nice easy read.
Aria has lived her whole life safe inside a bio-dome. She and her friends know that the Outside is full of dangers, diseases, savages, and the deadly ether storms, so they spend their time in the realms of virtual reality.
Perry is an Outsider, member of the tribe called the Tides. A hunter, protector, and brother to their leader, Perry works to …
A striking read!
In a world of danger…
An unlikely alliance…
A million ways to die…
One way to live…
Omg omg omg. I can’t believe I didn’t read this series sooner. Like this is so gloriously amazing and striking and thrilling.
The writing is unforgettable, hooking and mesmerizing. Sane with the characters. The world building is …
This one took some patience … It took a little bit to get really interesting and even still, it wasn’t the gripping read I thought it would be, but I did find myself intrigued and wanting to go on.
Rossi is clearly a good writer and world-builder. I also appreciated her underlying messages about the way people treat one another just because they …
I listened to this one on the recommendation from a friend of mine when I was looking for more YA sci-fi with romance to read. What an interesting world Rossi has built here! After reading the first book, I’m still a little unsure of all the history that led people into such a divided society like this, but it felt very real and believable. The …
Post-apocalyptic books are my favorite. This book was so good and sucked me right in.
I was really impressed with the author’s writing style. While the nature of a post-apocalyptic book often engenders violence, she wrote such scenes with such empathy and…the only word I can think of is, class. Those scenes never felt harsh, but a natural part …
Rossi is a really talented writer. Imaginative. Creative.
A great dystopian YA novel – really interesting world building, narrators who don’t feel like the typical woe-is-me Chosen One, and just a lot of good action and romance side-by-side. Looking forward to the rest of this series!
I listened to this book on Audible and really enjoyed the story. it didn’t take me long to get pulled into the story and procrastinating returning to the real world in order to listen to a few more minutes!
Veronica Rossi did a good job of making all of the characters realistic and keeping me rooting for the good guys.
One of my fave YA dystopian authors.
I loved this series. It was so original. I think I liked it better than the Divergent series.
This books is going to my favorite list. The world the author created is so wonderfully grafted and nothing like I had ever read before. Can’t wait to continue reading the next books!
I enjoyed this book for the most part. Is it a deep, award winning sci-fi that’ll knock your socks off? No. But it is an entertaining read; the characters are quirky and relatable (I loved the chemistry between Perry and Aria), and the story line was simple enough to follow with. This book was an enjoyable and fun read.
I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I had it sitting on my shelf for a long time and finally gave it a go. I’m very happy I did. This book hooks you from the start and I found this world to be really interesting. I liked both Perry and Aria a lot.
Life in Reverie isn’t a big part of this book, but its clear that its all a …
Loved it
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! What a unique story…in which the post-apocalyptic world is divided, not into classes like some, but into the people who had chosen to hide and the people who had learned to adapt to the surroundings. Also, so far, no love triangle, which is refreshing. I liked the alternating points of view, so that you don’t get …
