Heroes don’t last long around here… French Quarter.
I’ll never forget the first time I saw her.
The curve of her breast outlined by sparkling rhinestones.
Slim hips wrapped in black fishnets.
Long, dark hair…
She’s the Dark Angel who stole my heart.
Her body is intoxicating, our love overwhelming.
Cat eyes and blood red lips.
Sizzling fingers on white-hot skin.
I couldn’t keep my hands off her…
But her fame had a dark side,
A sinister shadow lurking under the lights.
I would do anything to save her…
He would do anything to see me dead.
(A CONTEMPORARY ROMANTIC SUSPENSE novel. Book #1 of the Bright Lights series.)

I thought that Under the Lights was a little slow going at first but the story builds and I just could not put this book down. I was up until 2 AM reading. I love books that hold my attention and this book did just that.
I think there needs to be a warning on Under the Lights for those that have triggers. Because bad things do happen. But, they are all what makes this book.
This story is set in a strip club that is a front for sex trafficking. Just the setting should set off this warning that is a dark subject. Larissa (AKA Lara) is a young woman whose star is on the rise in this strip club. She is a singer who hasn’t had to strip yet but, knows it won’t be long. No one ever gets a free ride. Mark falls for Lara and he just tries to keep her safe with his limited resources.
Under the Lights has romance, heartache & angst. These are dangerous times and they are just trying to survive.
I loved reading this book. Oh, there is a cliffhanger at the end. I can’t wait to read the conclusion in Under the Stars. Coming this month. So the wait won’t be long at all.
