Skye Emery believes in true love. A romantic idealist, she believes wholeheartedly that everyone will get their happy ending. Everyone except her, that is. After drowning in the devastation left behind by a cheating father, keeping men at arm’s length and finding solace in a dirty book and a pint of ice cream is a safer option. However, in the aftermath of a night that ends with a cheap wine buzz … with a cheap wine buzz and the afterglow of a solo orgasm, Skye decides to dip her toes into the world of online dating.
Enter Ben Mackinnon, the sexy reformed manwhore with a complicated past of his own and a killer online presence Skye just can’t ignore.
Ben overwhelms her with his perfect mix of sweet sincerity and dirty talking dominance. He pursues Skye with a determination she didn’t know she craved and when they stumble upon a childhood memory that connects them, Skye’s walls begin to tumble down.
Skye wants to believe that all men aren’t carbon copies her father, but when Ben’s past resurfaces she’s torn between running to protect her heart, or fighting for the only relationship she has ever invested in.

I loved this second chance romance. Especially since the first time was as kids but comes back to them both as an important time in their lives. Ben is sweet and corny especially his jokes. If they can get past their own personal demons in their past they might make a go. The author does a great job playing the story out and their passion but it’s still special. I love this debut novel by this author. If this is any indication of what she will bring to the world of books we are in for an awesome time. The characters have dealt with real life issues which make it easy to become invested in their success. I look forward to more from this series which seems to be standalone reads.
This story is sweet and delightful to read. It was beatfiul written. I truly enjoyed reading about Ben and Skye.
What a sweet romance. I read this book so quick. I adored Ben and Skye’s relationship, from the way they met to the way their relationship builds, it all gave me the feels. I seriously wanted to explode with happiness while reading this book. Skye and Ben are just so damn cute together and I loved how easy their relationship was despite both of their hangups. Ben was such a romantic while also being quite the dirty talker. My heart really went to Skye because she was so afraid to love and every instinct inside her was telling her to run, but thanks to her awesome best friend she experienced all the love she deserved.
I really liked Under the Cherry Blossoms. It was a really fast read. Amali Rose is a wonderful writer. Sky and Ben’s story was such a sweet romance.
I adored Under the Cherry Blossoms so much. Ben and Skye were so great together. Their love was sweet and complete fate. These two were just meant to be. Amali kept me engrossed the entire time. A must read! I cannot wait to read the next.
A very quick and easy book to read! The characters are hilarious, corny and sexy. I’m left with a smile on my face since I’ve finished reading this one!
They have dealt with family heartbreak as children! It’s not easy learning trust people when you’ve seen how they treat their so called loved ones first hand! Communication is the key, don’t block each other out just talk it out. They were introduced through an online dating service and love grew from there or did it? A trip under the cherry blossoms in Central Park is like déjà vu!
I will admit this book had me at the cover and title, the cover was beautiful and the title well it has my favourite trees so I just dove in.
This book was a novella and a debut for the author qnd I was excited to hopefully find another amazing author and I did. Really loved this book.
This book is fast paced we get straight into the story and even though it was a shorter story we still get the feelings and a beautiful love story from two people who really lost their trust in love and it was wonderful to follow Thier story and watch both Thier walls break down.
Skylah and Ben had a love story that showed them that even though people can hurt you in the last doesn’t mean that someone else will hurt you or treat you badly, I loved the storing and how it was more than just meeting someone and falling in love it was so much more.
What a great debut and I will certainly be reading this authors other work such a great story and so easy to read it flowed so well great novella
This story is a amazing read that has amazing chemistry between the the love found throughout this story. This story will have you hooked and loving this story from the very first page tell the ending.
Skylah Emery is good at keeping her heart hidden. She is the new manager at Books & Beans and is best friends with Cassidy Jensen but she knows something is missing. When she strikes up an online relationship with Ben Mackinnon she is afraid to meet him in person as she worries that it will not be the same.
Ben Mackinnon has a past filled with some difficulties and he is not wanting to go down that path again. When he meets Skylah he is excited as the two click and he knows he has finally found a great person to be with.
But both Skylah and Ben have insecurities due to their respective pasts and when they are each faced with them will they be able to get over them in order to be together?
This was a good book and the first I have read from this author.
I liked Skylah and completely understood why she was hesitant to ruin a good thing by meeting Ben in person. I loved when Ben and Skylah figured out their connection and I liked how it all tied in to the Botanical Gardens.
Ben was a great character as well and I understood his past and how that shaped what he wanted for his future. That being said, Skylah was not Amber and I hated how he managed to lump them together and fly off the handle.
Both of the “hurdles” that the characters faced were everyday issues that were realistic as were the results. I must admit I was more on Skylah’s side than Ben’s with what they were faced with.
I also really liked that Skylah did not rush back at the end of the book but focused on what she needed to do in order to heal from the words that were directed at her.
The end was great and it ended the way it should! – By Rebecca
Every once in awhile you read a book that makes you feel..makes you happy…this hilarious, feel good book was everything I wanted in a read and then some. You will fall in love with Skye and Ben as they attempt to overcome their pasts and move forward. I definitely recommend Under The Cherry Blossoms to any and everyone
What a ride! The ups and downs of this story were so real. I found myself giggling, then getting mad. Learning to trust is hard. Especially when it was a parent, or parents that broke you. Can’t wait for the next book 🙂
A nice well written story. Lovely characters. Great banter. I loved the little surprise that we learn under the cherry blossom tree.
5 Squeaky Stars!
If you’re looking for an epic RomCom from beginning to end THIS IS THE ONE for you! What I wouldn’t do to have a friend like Cassidy, Skye is one lucky chick. When she ventures into the cyber world of online dating we’re introduced to Ben. I love the persistency of this man and think the conversations between both him and Skye are hilarious. You will be gasping in shock as the story unfolds, smiling ear to ear at other times and how can I forget about those knock knock jokes. I’m chuckling to myself now remembering them. Throughout there are memories that I want to reenact after reading this book and now have added them to my bucket list in NYC. The entire story flows so smoothly and my interest was kept consistently. Amazing debut and cannot wait to read more from this new author. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.
