Wow. Uma and Ivan’s story is different than any romance I’ve ever read: in a good way. What a touching, intense story of two damaged souls who find love and redemption. Highly recommend if you’re ready for a deep dive.
Loved this! Emotional and ultimately uplifting.
If you happen to stumble upon your childhood crush on the side of the mountain there’s no way you’ll just hop back on your car and leave it at that. Considering that O’neal is also a journalist, her insatiable behavior to tell a story has been engaged as well. But Kurt Naderson is a man who has a lot of things going on and to finally be confronted by the girl who was off limits to him in high school was something that needed to be left in the past. This was way harder to do than climbing a mountain with your dead comrade’s wheelchair.
Loving A Wounded Warrior is a novella by the wonderfully talented Adriana Anders. It’s about second chances and letting go of baggage to learn to live again. It deals with PTSD, depression, self-esteem but most of all, it deals with love. For some readers, the romance might be more insta-love than is quite believable but it’s the honesty of the emotions between Kurt and O’neal that really stays with you. It’s definitely erotic but it’s also funny, poignant and sweet as well. A truly worthwhile read.
Whoa! This book! I am totally blown away by this story!
Uma is running away from a past that has left its mark on her in a way I never could’ve imagined. She’s so broken and alone and searching for just a tiny bit of hope that she can find something to erase that past. When she meets Ivan, despite her initial fear, she also finds a sense of comfort. Soon these two are learning to trust each other with not only their bodies but with their hearts and souls.
I absolutely loved this book! My heart hurt so much for Uma and what she had had to endure in the past and what was to come. But Ivan, a beast of a man with a gentle heart and a deep seated need to protect those he loves, gives her the confidence to step out of the shadows. Ivan owns my heart as he was everything she needed. I adore big burly heroes who will do anything to save his woman. And yet, what I loved the most about him is the decision he made in the end. It was exactly what Uma needed and as a result gave her the ultimate power of his protection.
This is a relatively fast paced read that has some secondary characters that you will love, some you will want to smack and one that will have you wanting to do both. The steam is high and has a bit of a twist to it that I’ve never read about before and yet found I enjoyed it very much due to the change it made in one of the characters. I really, really missed having an epilogue. I need to know how Ms. Loyd is doing but more importantly, I need to know how things work out in every area of Uma and Ivan’s life.
I loved this hauntingly raw story about a woman escaping an abusive ex and an ex-con who learns to believe he is more than a raging beast. This was both heart wrenching and uplifting. I loved reading Uma’s transformation. Ivan’s gentle consideration to both animals and especially to Uma made my heart ache. The sexual tension between these two just sizzled! Given Uma’s past with an abusive ex, there may be triggers for some readers. This author is new to me but has now been added to my auto click list!
I enjoyed this story. It was engaging and sucked me right in. I liked the characters
and the plot. A 4 star because I didn’t LOVE it, but definitely worth the read.
This was actually between a pick and a so-so for me. Not my usual type. Involved some intense subjugation of the protagonist (though thankfully not recounted countless times). The hero is the prerequisite gentle, understanding giant of a man who helps her heal emotionally and face her demons. Also some steamy encounters. Not sure why I wasn’t bowled over by it. Will try next one in series.
