After the epic struggle of World War II, W.E.B. Griffin’s bestselling chronicle of the Marine Corps enters a new stage of modern warfare—with new weapons, new strategies, and a new breed of warrior—on the battlefields of Korea…In 1950, Captain Ken McCoy’s report on North Korean hostilities meets with so much bureaucratic displeasure that he is promptly booted out of the Corps—and just as … Corps—and just as promptly picked up by the fledgling CIA. Soon, his predictions come true: on June 25th the North Koreans invade across the 38th parallel. Immediately veterans scattered throughout military and civilian life are called up, many with only seventy-two hours notice. For these men and their families, names such as Inchon and Pusan will acquire a new, bloody reality—and become their greatest challenge of all…

enjoyed as I have
I might have read Under Fire 8 years ago and the second time is just as satisfying. I have ordered the next book in this series because WEB GrIFFIN leaves you hanging at the end of every book. He’s written multiple books in multiple series and I have read multiple books in every series. I can read faster than he can write which causes a switch to different series. Griffin is a fabulous author and I recommend that you start at beginning of a series.
I’m a big fan of the Corps Series. This is the 2nd time I’ve read Under Fire. I really like the characters, the behind the scenes of historical events and the history.
Great read as always with WEB.
Great book for anyone liking military novels.
W.E.B. Griffen had essentialy written the same book over and over, but it was a good book, with enough variance to keep it interesting. He obviously did his research.
WEB Griffith masterpiece
W.E.B. Griffin is a favorite. I’ve been reading his books for decades and have read the entire “The Corps” series. He mixes a great story telling with history and well researched details about the times, technology and historical characters. He is one of the top military fiction writers as well as a police procedural and espionage writer.
Historical fiction. Very interesting background on Korean war.
wish I could get the whole series abit less expensively
The Corps Series is the best I’ve ever read!
I like all Griffin’s novels. They are best read from the beginning of any particular series and you learn history while reading a great story.
Typical Griffin, informative with action and good interpersonal relationships.
Ecxeptionally well written, describes many incidents I experenced as a soldier.
his first 20 books were the best
I like Web Griffen books. I know they are based on real facts with some fictional characters and some real ones but it is part fiction part history and a fun read.
WEB Griffin brings issues and events from WWII to life. His character development is the best.
Asa only WEV Griffin can do. Makes me feel as though he is living my military experience.
WEB at his best!!!
I have always liked every book written by Griffin.
