Milan Watson is a new to me author and since I love Colorado it was an easy yes from me. I read Sunsets in Colorado and really liked it! Lewis and Jasmine are sisters that couldn’t leave their family ranch fast enough when they turned 18. They both have lives that need to be put on hold when their dad gets sick and needs them back home. I love a good cowboy and Tanner was easy to like. Lewis and Tanner have great chemistry. I liked the family drama of the story. I’m looking forward to reading more!
I read these stories when they were individually released.
Sunsets in Colorado:
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was charming in spots and a tear-jerker in others. Tanner is the ranch manger to the Double T Ranch for the past three years. His boss suffers a heart attack and calls the owner’s daughters. Both Lewis and Jasmine come back home. Both left when they could. They had a strained relationship with their father after their mother’s passing. Old Man Tate started to drink and argue with his daughters and losing himself in caring for the ranch and horses. Tanner thinks both daughters are “ice princesses” when neither visit their father for long over the years. Time heals all wounds. Tanner feels an immediate attraction to the younger daughter Lewis. Both fight their attraction and each other.
Tanner is an alpha male and comes on strong but does back off in his attempt to convince Lewis of their attraction. While Tanner is fiercely attracted to Lewis, he also has a secret that could blow his chances with Lewis. What will happen when this secret is exposed? Will Lewis go back to LA? Will she forgive Tanner? Will Tanner lose everything that he has fought for? Only time will tell.
This book is written in a dual POV format. That really helps me to get into the characters’ mind set to fully understand them. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
Whispers in Colorado:
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a fabulous story. I simply adored it. Jasmine left home at an early to go to New York and become a clothing designer. She along with her sister, Lewis, came back shortly before their Pa’s death. In the time that the three of them were together, each made peace with the others. Jasmine starts to develop feelings for the vet, Jack Turner. Talk about a hottie, Jack is the ultimate cowboy. Tall, dark and broody, Jack is the perfect foil for Jasmine. The story to their HEA was an adorable story. The road had few small bumpy spots but the ending made it oh so worth it.
I loved the dual POV format. It really helps me to fully understand the character and to identify with him or her. I highly recommend this story to anyone. There was just one small bedroom scene but nothing overly descriptive.
Midnights in Colorado:
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a book that was a joy to read. I loved staying in contact with the characters from the first two books in this series. Lisa hasn’t dated anyone since her ex-boyfriend left their small town. She has kept herself busy with her business the Wash N Whirl, a hair salon. She lives with her mother but the re-appearance of her father (her mother and father separated 10 years ago) has led Lisa to come to the conclusion that she needs to move out. Her friend Jasmine tells her that a rancher is building cabins on his ranch to help supplement the ranch’s income in lean years. It is a former school-mate, Sam. Sam has had a thing for Lisa since high-school. Those feelings have never been returned since she was dating Burke (the now ex-boyfriend). Sam has been busy building up the ranch that had hit on hard times when his father had taken ill and passed away. Neither Lisa nor Sam have been on a date in 5 years.
Lisa is a free thinker and totally independent. Sam is living in the past with his out-dated way of thinking marriages should be based on his parent’s wonderful marriage. Now don’t get me wrong as there is nothing wrong with taking care of his wife (who he wants to be a housewife and the care-giver to their children) but Lisa has worked too hard to build up her business for that. She wants a marriage that is on equal grounds.
In my opinion, I felt Lisa was a little rash in her anger at times and trying Sam to see her side but never trying to see his side. Sam is a expecting Lisa to give up her way of life for his without consulting her several times. These two have such a road to travel to get to their HEA. Fortunately for the reader, the book is written in a dual POV format. Even if you don’t agree with the characters, it is easy to understand their opinions on different subjects. I was able to relate to them as such in their element. I may not have the same ideals as the characters but that didn’t stop me from enjoying their journey.
There are several characters that I hope the author develops into more stories for this series. I do recommend this story. While it isn’t necessary to read the prior two books, I would recommend it as the other characters make multiple appearances here and besides they were great books.
So enjoyed
Lisa & Jasmine came back because their dad had a heart attack and he wasn’t doing so good. They didn’t have a great relationship with him and each other since their mom died. But something clicks and makes them want to stay. For Lisa it’s Tanner, for Jasmine it’s Jack & the wild mustang’s. Lisa is afraid of falling in love after her dad walked out and then her long time boyfriend. Now her dad is back and a guy she knows from high school is making her heart pound.
I enjoyed all of these books. Milan Watson is a wonderful, talented author. The books are well written with fully developed characters. You will love White Horse Creek and all its residents. Read all the books individually as they were written.
I received a free copy of these books and this is my voluntary, honest review.
A must read collection. I’ve read these stories individually and loved them! But when they are in a box set it’s even better as they are all together! Each book has its own storyline but the characters are in the first two as they are sisters. Each has been called back to the family ranch because of their fathers illness but then each has a story to work through. The last is in the small town and grabs you right away! I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Great story lines and characters, Awesome !! Loved this boxset. The storylines were so interesting that it had me turning pages in anticipation of where it would lead . I was very intrigued with the characters in the stories. Simply awesome . Definitely recommend this boxset to anyone looking for great reads. I would recommend to others. Worth the read and the money!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
This is a wonderful collection of the first three books in the Colorado Crazy series by Milan Watson. I received an ARC of each individual book through Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. Even though each book is a standalone, reading them in order gives the reader a better understanding of the characters involved and their relationship to each other. I love books by this author, because her writing is so descriptive I feel like I am actually in White Horse Creek, Colorado. I highly recommend each book in this collection of clean romance.
Three Enjoyable Stories.
Sunsets in Colorado – Lewis and Jasmine Tate are called back to White Horse Creek after their father has a heart attack. Neither have been home for years, not only estranged from their father but from each other too. Whilst Old Man Tate is recovering they learn to be a family again. Lewis is powerfully drawn towards the ranch manager Tanner Bryant but she fights those feelings, they have nothing in common and her life is in LA
Whispers in Colorado – From the day Jasmine Tate meets vet Jack Turner her usual icy manner takes a battering. He is nothing at all like any other man she has dated, she finds him unpredictable, he drives her crazy and confuses her mind and heart. Can they have a future? She has spent the last ten years as a fashion designer in New York, what kind of career can she have on a ranch? Read this story to find out.
Midnights in Colorado – Sam and Lisa have grown up in the same town but never been friends as such. For many years Lisa was in a steady relationship but for the last five has been single. Sam, who had a crush on Lisa when they were at school had planned to ask her out when her relationship broke down but the death of his father and a need to run the family ranch, meant time got away from him. Therefore it is not until Lisa rents a cabin from him that they are thrown into close proximity. The attraction is there from the outset but Sam’s old fashioned view of what a relationship should be, looks likely to doom any future they may have together. An enjoyable and realistic romance that deals with how you go about segueing two disparate lives together.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A great box set that includes Sunsets in Colorado, Whispers in Colorado and Midnights in Colorado. Contemporary ranch romances located in Colorado. Hours of reading pleasure. I read each of these books individually and how great to have them all included in this box set. They are all standalones but even more enjoyable as read together. A great selection guaranteed to delight.
An amazing box set. My favorite is the third book with Sam and Lisa. They are two opposites who ignite when they get together. All the characters are beautifully done and will become instant hits with you. You will not regret this set of wonderful stories.
A good series, great characters and fun variety of romance plots

I’ve read each book in this series as it was first published. I love the rural, Rocky mountain setting and the strong women protagonists. Here is my take on each book in this set:

I enjoyed this quick, mild heat and not explicit romance between a dyed in the wool country guy and a former country girl who’s kicked the ranch dust off her boots and settled in the city. The catalyst for their meeting was a sad one, but it ultimately leads to mended fences in heroine Lewis’s family and the opportunity for her to examine what she really wants out of life. Yes, hero Tanner is every bit the macho man, but he’s kind, devoted to Lewis’s father and a strong self-made individual who knows where he belongs, what he wants and what makes him content. I liked him despite his extreme confidence when it came to dealing with Lewis. The Colorado country setting was lovely, too.
Just one jarring note: there is an about-face near the story’s end that was too abrupt. It felt like, having reached a page quota, the story had to end lickety split. IMO it would have been much more effective if it had taken more time. Believe me, I rarely say a scene should be longer. I am much more inclined to comment on scenes, especially romantic clinches, that drag on for too long. But, in this case, shorter was not better.

4 and a bit stars
Short, happily-resolved romantic follow-up to Sunsets in Colorado. Whereas the previous book focused on the romance between ranch manager Tanner and Lewis, one of the two daughters of the ailing ranch owner, in this story, the other sister is the romantic lead. NYC-based fashion designer Jasmine is at a crossroads in her life after her father makes her a part owner in his ranch. Local vet Jack shows up with an injured wild mustang and suddenly passion, romance and helping preserve the local mustang population become part of the equation. The romance features mild steam and mild angst as Jack has difficulty moving past the distrust he has for “city” women like his ex wife. I liked the characters, setting and romance, and I enjoyed the story; it was just a bit too short.

I really liked this fiercely independent heroine who stuck up for herself at all costs. Sam, the hero, is a bit set in his ways and striving to duplicate the perfect ranch life his parents had. I enjoyed the dance between them as they tried to turn their separate steps into a synchronized tandem, as well as the updates on the lives of the main characters in the first two romances in the series. This would be fine as a standalone though. Sweet romance, short, with a lovely and loving end.
I have read all three books in this series and loved each and every one of them. They are all standalone reads but to get the full effect you just need to pick up all three. Since they are in this box set it is a chance to read well written perfectly paced stories pulling you in from the start. A very crafty story teller.
