Love takes time, patience, and work. A true mate doesn’t mean true love. From the time she was a little girl, Mary loved Jason. He was her knight in shining armor. Her first crush. Her first kiss. Her first everything, until he broke her heart and she vowed to hate him for a thousand lifetimes.Jason is the future Alpha of Westin Pack. As an only child, he’s under extraordinary pressure to find his … pressure to find his one true mate and carry on his family’s legacy. When he returns home from college after years away, he finds her in a pup he had always been protective of and attracted to, despite their age differences.
Now, Jason knows exactly what he wants and isn’t afraid to go after it, but Mary carries years of resentment towards him and proves far more stubborn than expected. Can Jason find a path back to her heart and rekindle a flame he had fought to put out?
If you’ve read Westin Pack, you may think you know how this story goes. They seem like the perfect parents and grandparents today, but there was a time when Jason and Mary didn’t exactly get along. We go back to the 80’s when hair was long, music was loud, and Mary was devastated to find the egotistical future Alpha would be her one true mate.

Where it All Started…..
Believe it or not, of all the Westin Pack and Collier Pack book with all the mystery action and intrigue, this is my very favorite…..To read how it all began was a great experience, I loved Mary and Jason Westin’s story, it even gives you a glimpse of how Jason and Zach Collier met and became good friends. It is sad and made me cry, but there were also very touching moments…The reason of why Mary is so protective of her children and pack and why she has the weekly Tuesday dinners which not one of her children, or grandchildren can get out of without a good excuse….It is kind of weird to see those two Mary and Jason in passionate situations, but hey how else would they have the awesome family that they do. The weirdness is probably due to the fact that in all the books I’ve read they have always been the serious matriarchs of the family. But all in all it’s a heartwarming story and I especially liked when Kyle Westin their first child was born.
Mary has a childhood crush on the hot future alpha of Westin Pack, a girl can dream can’t she…After all her Knight in Shining Armor is bigger than life being 5 years older than her. What Mary does’t realize is that Jason has always had a protective side when it comes to the 6 year old in pigtails, but more so when she get older and he is fighting a losing battle.
I really hope Ms. Trettel plans on writing more about the Westins and Colliers I really hope this is not the end.
Wow! “UNDER A HARVEST MOON” is the latest, fan-freaking-tastic must read by Julie Trettel! … What a phenomenal page-turner that’s a backstory for this author’s 1st amazing shifter series in the Westin Pack! This fills us in on the previous Alpha & Pack Mother & then the successors over the years 😀 What a wonderful, stand-alone story about ‘Fated Mates’ & love & loyalty to their Pack full, with family and friends, plus the almost enviable life and loves in such a peaceful community! … With larger than life, relatable characters that practically jump off the pages, witty dialogue & fantastic attention-to-detail, plus surprise twists & turns, readers will be engaged & turning pages like crazy, like I did! 😀 … Even tho I read this story originally in the compilation boxed set of “ Fated Mates “ that I recently purchased with other authors, these are my honest feelings on this single release now! … I highly recommend this to all adult fans of fiction & I can’t wait for more, but of course I will wait- even if not patiently 😉 lol
The beginning of everything.
This book was highly anticipated by fans of the Westin Pack series as Mary and Jason are a staple in Westin Pack and the Collier Pack books. Their love has affected each of their children and inspired them to settle for nothing less than their one true mate. This book showed us the struggles they went through with a wonderfully detailed story from that outlines their connection from childhood into college aged main characters. It wasn’t nothing like I expected filled with teenage angst and broken hearts. It was funny to watch Jason, a high school senior, struggle with his immediate attraction to Mary, a high school freshman, and all the mate related thoughts his newly emerged wolf kept giving him. The time jump in the story was tasteful with out a ton of filler content. The struggle of Jason realizing how much he screwed up was easy to see coming since in context from this book alone Mary being his mate was obvious. It was funny how the story unfolded after the time jump to Mary’s senior every. The behavior and mindsets of the teens was spot on. There was parts that seemed inconsistent like how Mary’s parents didn’t seem encouraging about finding her one true mate or the possibility she could be Jason’s and made it seem like a fairytale, but were all supportive later on. Also story doesn’t quite line up with the Westin Pack books where Mary and Jason are the same age.
Under a Harvest Moon by Julie Trettel was ah-mazing!! I’ve long been in love with the Westin Pack and always longed to read Mary and Jason’s mating. Their compassion and dedication have had an enormous impact upon their family and pack. This is perhaps my favorite of them all!!! Through trials and heartbreaks and growing up this captured my heart. I loved the pull between them. With five years in an age difference separating them, they both had to mature. Of course we know that they end up together. But the journey getting there was priceless and sweet. I loved how this book began and how it concluded! Everything begins and ends with family The pull upon your heart as you read is incredibly strong. I did not want to put this down! I adore everything that Ms. Trettel writers, she’s so tremendously gifted!

Man, Julie has done it again. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved seeing the how Mary and Jason got together and liked that their mating wasn’t perfect and that they had a lot of obstacles to overcome. I thought Jason did the right thing by going out with Jenny the final months of his senior year before college even though it hurt both him and Mary but it would’ve been way worse him getting her hopes up then leaving for, four years, Mary was also extremely young at 14 years old and her wolf hadn’t surfaced yet which is a really good thing considering Jason was about 19 years old and way too old for a 14 year old. I just loved Alex and Steph and they were true friends to both Jason and Mary. I liked getting to know where Kyle’s middle name of Alexander came from, but also made me shed a few tears. I liked getting to meet a younger Zach Collier who was a D.O.G with Jason. Wow, Mary’s cooking was legendary even back then and it was nice to see the reasoning behind Tuesday night Westin family dinner and that the tradition is still going strong after all these years. I’d happily read any books from this Universe that Julie releases. I’d recommend this book, series, Westin World Universe and author to everyone.
