Rader-Day has once again come up with a real thriller that will keep you guessing until the very last page.
What a page-turner! Eden, a young widow, is a smart woman completely falling apart. She lands in a bizarre situation just as it all starts to unravel. Fantastic, unique setting. I immediately recommended this book to the next person I spoke to and it got me through the day after a death in my family.
UNDER A DARK SKY by Lori Rader-Day is an atmospheric and absorbing mystery with an intriguing cast of characters. You’ll want to read this gripping novel with all the lights on.
What a psychological twister this novel is! As a writer of environmental mysteries who is enthralled by the starry heavens in the wilderness, I was originally drawn to the setting, which is a park designated as a Dark Sky Preserve. But I was soon caught up in the plot: when a widow is forced to share her vacation cabin with six strangers and one of them is killed, she suspects any of them, including herself, could be the killer. You have to read it to understand.
A great piece of literature by Lori Rader-Day! A masterpiece!
A woman loses her husband and the will to live. She has lost herself in her grief.
She gives up work and her love of photography. She sleeps with the lights on.
Her friends and family grow tired of her grief.
Among her husband’s papers, she finds reservations for a week under the stars. Although she fears the dark, she decides to go. But when she arrives, she finds a group of young people, not the private retreat she expects. And when someone is murdered in the night, she tries to make sense of chaos. So very many secrets but one murderer. She finds the courage to change. An engrossing story about loss, the will to try and what cost secrets have.
This book had so many twists and turns, it made my head spin, in a good way. Eden Wallace is afraid of the dark, but she winds up at a dark sky park in the midst of some drama with six people she has never met. Thrilling and a little scary.
Another GREAT read from this award winning author.
Under a Dark Sky presents all the makings of a “locked room” mystery when a group of former college friends come together at a cottage in a dark sky park. The protagonist, Eden is an unexpected guest do to a possible booking error. She must deal with her many fears as the cottage guests fall victim to “accidents” one by one. Great twisty ending and I highly recommend this book.
This mystery is a slow reveal that will keep you guessing up to almost the last page. You will guess then decide no before choosing another person only to return perhaps to the same suspect as clues and hints swirl. Eden Wallace’s husband has died. In her grief, she finds a reservation in her husband’s papers for a cabin in a dark sky park for star gazers. Eden believes her husband has chosen this park as an anniversary gift for them and decides to go alone. Except Eden has a secret that she does not want anyone to know. The cabin and the twenty somethings that Eden soon finds out are sharing the cabin with her also have secrets. The secrets will cause mistrust among the group and then murder.
