The characters were interesting. It was a good story.
This was awesome.. loved it…
Fast paced book a must read. Quite informative about Alaska and volcanoes.
A page turner that will keep you up all night.
If you want a book filled with superman/woman steer away from this, the people here are normal. They make mistakes which sometimes gets them hurt but this only adds to the realism and believability of the storyline.
This story managed to keep me pushing on turning the pages. Often I will skip read the later chapters of a book as I just want to get to the final outcome, not his one. Every page kept my interest and had me glued to the story. It’s a 5 star read in my opinion.
Really enjoyed this style of writing
I loved the book at the end I wanted to learn more about what happened to the characters.
Kept me rivited from beginning to end. Definitely recommended reading.
This book put to police detectives together who are from different countries but who share many common traits. It is fast paced and includes police procedure while telling a compelling murder mystery with several plot twists and turns leading to a drammatic conclusion and a bittersweet ending. It is an enjoyable read and I look forward to more English versions of books by this author.
Enjoyed. This book from start to finish. Couldn’t figure it out until right at the end
Quick read with a surprise ending.
Good read, haunting details of the crime. Beautiful setting with good descriptions. Main characters could have been more developed
I really enjoyed leaning about the characters, I truly hope more of her books are translated so I can follow up.
I liked the free one so much I bought the following two books. They were as good as the first one. I just wish there were more in the series!
This is a story that keeps you reading and waiting for more insights as to who was the perpetrator. Each character is revealed a little bit more as the story evolves and both their omissions and their lies build to a conclusion that you don’t anticipate.
Great read! This book was fun to read!! Enjoyed the way the story line flowed.
Absolute page turner
Love a new book with totally new plot line and engaging people. This takes place in Alaska with detective Angie and her “new” partner, a Dane, called Trokic. The reason being a twisted murder involving a Danish family.
The plot is unique with a scientist of volcanos is murdered along with his wife and son…they are found seated at a table looking at a dollhouse with volcanic ash and dolls inside. Four dolls, not three, means the fourth person of the family is missing. So the hunt is on for the killer that took the daughter, Maric, only age 11.
The landscape of Alaska is shown through Trokic’s eyes as a place of wonder, cold and volcanos threatening to erupt.
The two detectives follow evidence and learn to rely on each other and fall for each other ….unlike other books…the relationship is real and becomes part of the book without detracting from it. Great job!
You also see the young girl deal with being a prisoner and not knowing her family is dead and struggling to understand a situation that would be hard for an adult to be in.
Another murder will take place and a hunt for dollhouses and the author does a terrific job tying it together with a bow at the end. I hope to read more in the series.
