Undeniable is the fourth book in The Fated Series by A.S. Roberts and it is a romance novel. It is the story of a naive 24 year old young woman named Lily Green, who is an only child, and whose future has been decided for her by her father. Lily has been homeschooled and dreams of going to the university where her only friend, Katy attends college. Lily’s parents are very old fashioned and have never allowed her to leave her home. Lily has been promised to marry Anton Valise by her father, and Lily cannot stand to be around Anton because he is a crude, disgusting man. Anton, Anton’s father, and Lily’s father are all part of an Eastern European mafia that makes money from human trafficking and prostitution. Lily talks her father into allowing her to attend the university by saying that if she gets a degree in Economics, she can help Anton with the family business after they are married, but her father says that she also must agree to come home every weekend and get her degree in two years. Lily agrees to these terms just so she can have the chance to live a “normal” life for two years.
Jack Carpenter is a handsome, bright, young man who attends the same university as Lily and Katy, and has a well established reputation as a player. Jack has some serious anger issues due to his sister, Bella’s rape by Ioan Antonescu when he was just 12 years old, and so he fights illegally as a bare knuckle fighter just to blow off steam, and to win prize money. When Lily attends her first Economics class it turns out that Jack is in that class, too. He is asked by his Economics professor to tutor Lily in Economics to help her to graduate in two years, since Economics comes easy to Jack. When Jack walks Lily back to her dorm after class her first day, they find out that they are suite mates, and not long after that they admit that there is a romantic chemistry between them. They soon after start dating, but things quickly get very complicated when Lily explains to Jack that it has been arranged by her father that she has to marry Anton even though she cannot stand to be around him. This information upsets Jack very much, and he wants Lily to stand up to her father and to tell him that she should be able to choose who she wants to marry. What will happen between Lily and Jack, and can they find a way to get Lily out of this crazy arranged marriage?
I loved this book! It is the fourth book that I’ve read in this series, and I recommend that you read them in order so that you can understand what is happening in the stories, since they often refer back to the other books at times. This book definitely has the most suspense, and the ending wraps up everything that has happened in the series in a very satisfying way. A.S. Roberts has written very complex characters, with interesting story-lines, and I highly recommend this book and all of the books in this series!
Intense, heartbreaking story full of pain and a deep long lasting love that survives so much trauma and abuse of different kinds. Bare knuckle fighting is just one, Jack uses it not just to make money but its his outlet, for anger and for heartache. Lily has another kind of abuse to cope with and in more ways than one, she is suffocated by rules at home and then it gets worse. Both these characters are tormented but the love they find with each other helps cope. Suspense, anger and hatred are also a big part of this gripping story. It is a read you don’t want to put down so you stretch every minute as far as you can to read the maximum amount before you have to go do life stuff. Many times I had tears or a lump in my throat, not just in sadness but for the emotional roller coaster that this read was from beginning to end. Engrossing and fast paced fabulous story with characters to love both new and if you have read the other books in this series old. I have no hesitation in recommending not just this one but the whole series.
Undeniable is the fourth book in The Fated series and I can honestly say that this series will be up there with my favourites of all time. Each book has been an amazing read and I’m gutted that this book is the last in the series.
I am pleased that I have read each book in series order as the characters are linked throughout and to be honest you do not want to miss out on reading any of these books!
This book had me addicted from the very first page and I just didn’t want to put it down! I thought the writing was brilliant and although there are scenes that are really dark they were written with just enough detail to understand the situation and bring out the expected emotions.
I love how the author splits the story into two parts – past and present. It was lovely to learn the background of Lily and Jack before we start devouring the angsty and gritty second part which is their present lives. There are so many feels… happiness, sadness, angst, anger, heartbreak, repulsion and pure love. There are also twists in the story that I just didn’t see coming. I admire the characters Jack and Lily- they are just amazing and as you read what they have gone through in their short lives, you will be gripped and unable to turn the pages quick enough to see what happens next. They are both very strong characters to endure all that they do and I especially love that the Blackmore and Carpenter families are always there for each other to do whatever it takes to help one another.
An outstanding book that I would urge you to pick up and read. I cannot wait to read what the author releases next.
Outstanding! From cover to cover this book had me hooked. The pacing, story telling, romance, hurt and love were pouring off the pages. Jack and Lily have a past and a present but can they survive their secrets and create a future.
A. S. Roberts has come full circle with this final book in the Fated series. Yes, I truly believe it can be read as a standalone. Yes, there’s a fantastic epilogue. Yes, all you’ll ever need, want and desire is written on these pages.
A. Must. Read.
This fourth book in this amazing series is so beautifully written. Lily is 24 years old and never been kissed but has been promised to a family friends son. Trying to have a life her father eventually allows her to go to university to study before the marriage. There she meets and falls for Jack promising to marry him and lie to her family until her father steps in with lies. Betrayed and hurt nothing can fortell the tragic events that take place, with the other families taking control of it all and Lily being lied to,hurt and punished. One fated night is all it takes and jack rescues her only to have to let her go to rescue her again. I loved this series so a must read.
